Valerie Lindridge writes Can I please ask for prayer for Winston Lodge - the residents

and carers. They are on lock-down. Everyone is well, praise God. The staff on rota are

living in for 2/3 day shifts to reduce foot-fall of people coming and going. Supplies

are being delivered to the door by other members of staff. Can I please ask you to

pray for Maureen, Sandra, Anita, Dawn, Sue, Natalie, Andrew, Tom, Quentin and all

their families at this time. With very many thanks! God bless you all!

Can you find the names of the Bible books in theses paragraphs ?

This is a most remarkable puzzle. It was found in the seat pocket of a plane on a

flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu keeping the finder, Judge S Daniel Solomon,

occupied for hours. This was a relief to his PA, Philemona Matthews whose present

wish was to rest her tired legs but her main task on the flight was to mark up the

notes for tomorrows lecture at the Law Society Conference at which he had a

reputation of being ruthless in pursuit of truth. (it had long been well attended but in recent years the many retirements had led to a fall in numbers)

The Judge was the fourth generation to study law, which invites speculation whether

the nature of genes is the secret to professional development. His brothers Jonah and

Moses found that he was always ready to act, sometimes in surprising ways when

they needed help.. As the flight dragged on his thoughts turned to retirement and his

bucket list of things to do, Getting his banjo electrified for amplification, learn how

to make jam, especially rhubarb which is his favourite and a long road trip by car,

Oman seemed an attractive destination. Now he would be a jobbing legal helping at

a local charity working with its Administrator who helps almsgivers to increase the

value of their gifts.

His musing came to an abrupt end as the landing gear locking into place brought the

sharp revelation that retirement was not on a distant horizon: it was the end of next

week. In less than ten days Kings Worthys famous son would leave the bench for the

last time. Rising from his seat and grabbing his briefcase he joined the exodusing

passengers moving into new challenges of life.

Pat Knowles reports BMS Birthday Scheme – May Birthdays

Bill Winning May 2nd., Colin Wells 14th .Alan Perry 23rd.

By giving a gift to the BMS Birthday Scheme every year on your birthday, you’re doing something amazing – you’re sharing the gift of life. Every gift given to the Birthday Scheme supports our life-transforming health work. Your birthday can help medics in Chad keep vulnerable mothers and babies safe in childbirth. It can support children with disabilities in Thailand, providing them with a loving home in a society which often rejects them. And it can help struggling people in Uganda access speech therapy, giving them the opportunity to communicate with the world around them.

Every year, Birthday Scheme members donate over £250,000! These gifts are having a huge impact, saving and transforming lives in countries across the world

BMS Coronavirus World Response: The Latest Updates

In a Church Meeting at the start of 2020, Amy shared an exciting idea

which was warmly approved. Sadly, the coronavirus crisis has made the

planned summer term start impossible. Here is an update and call to a summer

of prayer and preparation, Hi Everyone,

A very exciting opportunity is

coming soon and we are very

lucky as a church to be able to

host this new group for children

who are Home-schooled.

It will need lots of helpers as it is looking like this will be a popular group,

there are 81 families already on the waiting list, we will only be taking 40 and

will see how it goes.

I do ask you please keep praying for this project. that lots of new relationships

will be made from this group. Will you please also pray for me as I work out the

content of a programme and the resources needed that will be exciting and fun

for all the children who come. There will be a lot of pressure for this activity

to be amazing and it can only be amazing if we have enough helpers.

If you feel you could help in anyway with this group, please speak to me,

(details in header on page 1) some of the jobs will be setting the group up and then

talking to each family that comes to the group, we will also need people to

help with refreshments, of course all the team will need to be DBS checked. If

you don’t currently have a DBS but would like to be involved please contact

me or Mike Davis and we can get the form done ASAP.

I look forward to hearing from you Amy Tamblyn

Due to problems with my current work number and getting thousands of calls and

voicemails from someone in China, I have had to change my work phone number. it

is now 07766054454 Thanks Amy

Just in case you missed it previously

WBC and Rev Dianne Tidball have rescheduled her visit to us for

Sunday 25th April 2021 – our next Anniversary

EMAIL SCAM alert from RayE

Sian Evans Flags two important issues

1 NHS text service launched A new service was launched on Saturday where new patients who register their Covid-19 symptoms and contact details with the 111 online service will receive daily texts from the NHS. The messages will check how people are and ensure that those who need help to get them through the isolation period receive it. The text messages will be sent as a reassurance to those who contact NHS 111 online, complete the assessment, and leave

basic information such as their age, mobile number and when their symptoms started.

2 CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION: There is a lot of information and misinformation

circulating around coronavirus. NHS 111 online should be your first port of call (only phone 111 if you cannot access online information). There is also advice on the gov.uk website

(https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus). A new Government coronavirus information service on

WhatsApp aims to provide official, trustworthy and timely information and advice about coronavirus (Covid-19), and the government hopes it will help to reduce the burden on NHS services. The key

messages at the moment remain “Stay at Home” and “Wash your Hands”

A message from Rita Pethwick Waterlooville food bank is still open

Many people have asked about making monetary donations as shopping is difficult so I am sharing this information for the many supporters at WBC

The latest Baptists Together Magazine has an article about Penrallt BC Bangor

which spoke of their new minister: on checking their web site I found the

following:

“We are pleased to announce that the church members agreed by a large

majority at our meeting on Sunday 15th March to call our moderator, Rev. John

Thompson to be our minister and he has accepted the call. The appointment is

with immediate effect, although John is also still the minister at Llanelwy

Community Church for the next 3 months and will then continue in a reduced

capacity supporting them in their search for their next minister. John will also

continue in his role as Church Life Minister for the North Wales Churches in

NWBA. He can now be reached by email to [email protected] as well as by

phone on 07931 150697.”

At a recent Church Meeting we supported Rev Geoff Colmer’s nomination as BU President….
