Case study breakdown
My car breaks down today: • I choose my service provider • All of them have access to repair and
maintenance information and spare parts without discrimination
• They can compete on equal footing & innovate
My car breaks down tomorrow: • One player has privileged information on
my whole driving history & the breakdown • He can give better service than
competitors because he enjoys exclusive rights on dynamic information and can reach me directly in my car
• He can as well monitor his competitors’ activities and control the access to in-vehicle data

and same latency - The vehicle owner can choose what data is
exchanged, with whom and when - Independent, unmonitored access to the
vehicle and its data - Same access to the consumer via the
dashboard
Digital Single Market Strategy

Call upon the Commission to address the platform of thinks and develop rules and standard for their interoperability and accessibility by independent service providers
Empower consumers and carry out an in-depth reflection on how to make sure they retain ownership of the data they generate. This means giving them the tools to make informed choice on whether or not to share their data.. And with who!
