I am extremely proud to introduce The Constellation Trust Newsletter. Our Trust has grown rapidly over the past year and now includes two secondary schools; Sirius Academy West and Sirius Academy North, Rise Academy which offers specialist alternative provision for pupils and six primary schools which include: Appleton, Bricknell, Francis Askew, Paisley, Rokeby Park and Stoneferry. All schools are now benefiting from strong and effective partnership working. Collaboration is central to the best practice being shared across our schools, which in turn, ensures we provide the best learning opportunities for our pupils. The Trust Team, together with Heads of School/Headteachers, Governors, staff and pupils have developed our vision to reflect what we believe and are committed to achieve.

OUR VISION

The schools within our Trust are diverse and each has retained their unique identity however our partnership has highlighted many shared beliefs and we have agreed, as a collective, our shared values on which our PARTNERSHIP is based. As we prepare for the new academic year leaders from each school have worked together to develop our strategic plan for the next three years which is shown below. The ‘Super 6 for Success’ summarises the objectives of our strategic plan for 2018-2021.

I welcome comments on your values, vision and the planned strategy as the Constellation Trust is an organisation that is always striving to further improve. This is a very exciting time for the Constellation Trust and there are many opportunities for collaboration in the forthcoming academic year. I should like to draw your attention to the competition on the back page of the newsletter. There are many great prizes to be won which I hope will encourage your son or daughter to enter. I hope that you enjoy reading our joint newsletter. The wide range of events and activities which our pupils have participated are amazing; experiences which enrich the curriculum and develop pupils love of learning. Sirius Academy North

This academic year has been one of success and celebration at Sirius Academy North. Autumn Term We were delighted to learn in September that two of our students had achieved recognition for their artistic talents: Rachel Dixon achieved the Young Artist's 'Best Sculptor in Hull' award and Charlie Marritt came third in the 'Best Artist in Hull' category. Scarlett Rowland was elected to Hull’s Youth Parliament, whilst our team came fifth in the GEW enterprise competition. We also enjoyed some fantastic sporting success with our brilliant Inclusion Sports Team in the Hull Schools Boccia Championships and our Year 8 girls came third out of 14 schools in their 6-aside competition. Our annual ‘Night of a Thousand Stars’ celebration at City Hall gave us the opportunity to really celebrate the achievements of many of our students on 3 October 2017. We had lots of visitors during the first term: Year 7 students enjoyed a visit from The Happy Puzzle Company and completing their ‘Bikeability’ course; Invictus Marital Arts delivered an anti-bullying workshop in September; Hull City footballer Adama Dimande came in to talk to students; and Year 8 students had their NHS Career Skills Buildings Day, whilst Year 11 had a revision weekend at Haworth, trips to Sirius Sixth Form and paid a visit to Cambridge University. Students also enjoyed reward trips to Rock Up; a Year 10 theatre visit to Hull Truck Theatre; an MFL visit to Cologne; a musical performance at the Royal Albert Hall; and our own fantastic Sirius Has Got Talent event at Christmas. We were also proud of our community work. Students visited to Endike Community Centre sharing their knowledge about technology; organising food collections; and raising money for charity by packing bags at ASDA. Spring Term The spring term started with sporting success. Our Year 7 girls played in their first competitive rugby tournament and achieved bronze medals. The basketball team enjoyed some wins and had a great time at the most exclusive basketball showcase in the United Kingdom; the BBL Cup! Year 11 enjoyed a visit to the Victorian Town at Thackray Medical Museum and Year 9 benefitted from a presentation on careers by the RAF. Year 8 and Year 9 students had the opportunity to visit Bishop Burton farm, as part of our annual events for Science Week. A number of students entered the BBC’s 500 words competition and also enjoyed a Harry Potter Literacy Event. Our Year 6 transition programme continued with our feeder primaries visiting to participate in different workshops. Our Cadets participated in a number of parades, challenges and exercises. The term ended with our exciting Easter attendance celebration.

Summer Term Year 9 and Year 10 Computer Science students had a great time at The University of Hull at the beginning of the term. We were also delighted to win the regional Youth Speaks competition and send our team to the national finals. Some of our students continued their work in the community and participated in the Humberside Police Night Challenge. Our students also learnt a lot from Iby Knill who visited to talk to our students about surviving the Holocaust. Our U16 Basketball Team brought home a bronze medal from their tournament. The Year 9 and Year 10 girls’ football team came 3rd in the Hull Schools futsal competition and our Year 8 and Year 9 girls’ rugby team won the Hull Schools Rugby competition. Seven students passed their drum examination, with some achieving merits and distinctions. On 10th June, staff and students ran the Hull 10k race to raise money for the Hull4Heroes charity.

Sirius Academy West

It has been an extremely successful year at Sirius Academy West; we have been extremely pleased with the academic and personal progress made by our students. Autumn Term In September, we were accepted as a member of National Association for Able Children in Education in recognition of our ability to work with more-able students. This coincided with our Geography Department receiving the Geography Quality Mark in recognition of their hard work and ability to deliver outstanding Geography provision. Our ‘Night of a Thousand Stars’ celebratory evening took place in October 2017, it is always a fantastic evening and provides us a chance to reward individual and team successes. Alex Williamson took the ‘Executive Principal’s Award’ due to the fact he was in the top two percent in the country for English Literature and Language. The annual Year 6 Open Night saw a record attendance and the ‘My Forever Concert’ that exhibited the progression of British Values was a huge triumph. A group of students travelled to the Northern Young Writers Festival at the University of Hull, Ashleigh Thompson was selected despite huge competition to deliver her poem ‘If Social Media Was Non-Existent’. The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) invaded in November with the ‘Combined Cadet Force Parade Night’, the CCF process has been instrumental in developing students’ teamwork and disciplinary faculties. Our Year 11 Intervention Groups attended Cambridge University during which they experienced lectures with Cambridge Professors, a tour around the city, punting on the Cam and a number of other academically enlightening and enriching endeavours – this coincided with our first-ever Oxbridge applicant in the College. Christmas our Year 11’s experienced another record-breaking event at the College @ Sirius Quiz, battling it out for Christmas supremacy; the evening was filled with team building, challenging questions and a lot of food! Some of students were involved in a series of professionally produced videos aimed at raising attainment in Year 11 students and promoting a desire to succeed. Mock interviews were held led by over forty different employers who spoke to all of our Year 11 students. Interviewers commented on the professional attitude of the students and a number of students were even offered future employment opportunities if they so wished. Our sporting achievements were so numerous in the Autumn Term that they necessitate their own paragraph. The Academy’s Year 11 girls were crowned Hull School’s Champions, Gaell Nzayadio was selected to play at County Football Level, the Year 7 Football eam reached Round 4 of the ESFA National Trophy and Emmie-Lou Fenton led the Year 10 girls to a Cross-Country Championship. Inclusive sport had a great term with a number of students participating in the New Age Kurling and Boccia Tournaments.

Spring Term There was a number of culturally enriching activities that kicked-off the Spring Term. 33 of our students travelled to the Royal Albert Hall to deliver a performance as part of the Music for Youth Proms funded through the City of Culture 2017. A number of our Art students ventured to Spain to take in the sights and sounds of the prestigious galleries and has the opportunity to marvel at the historic architecture. Destination: Iceland for the Year 11 geographers who braved the cold to document geyser activity, walk the Black Beach and to dip their toes in the Blue Lagoon, metaphorically. In other geography related news our Year 9 students entered a competition organised by Jet 2 in the hope of winning the ‘Ultimate School Trip’. Despite narrowly missing out on the first-place prize, they did receive commendation and a prize of £1000! Jacob Vines and Emma Waller got through to the Hull Famelab Final. Moj Taylor from PUSH Talks met with a group of Year 10 students to deliver a motivational talk, the students reflected on their ability to self-motivate and how they could forge a successful career path in the future. In February, our ICE Engineer Team produced what is perhaps the achievement of the year. They travelled to the Leeds College of Building to participate in the ICE Inspire Competition. The girls produced a unique achievement taking both first and second places. An amazing achievement! We also had presentations from the British Aerospace Engineering Team directed at our Year 8 students, Tracy Jackson from Job Centre Plus spoke to our Year 11 students and a brilliant session with the Royal Air Force. Sport again had a huge role to play and is a consistent success at the Academy. Our Under-Fourteen girls finished second place in the Hull Schools Competition, Mia Duke launched the Women’s Super League in Huddersfield and we had huge success in cricket, rugby league and dodge ball.

Summer Term In the Summer Term eighty of our outstanding The Learning Machine (TML) students journeyed to Alton Towers as a reflection of their hard work throughout the TLM process, the day was without incident and the students were brilliant representatives for the Academy. As destinations are treated with huge importance at the Academy, all of our students have been engaged in working lunches with employers specialised in a variety of fields. KCOM, ICT@Spectrum and Northern Gas Works are just a few of the experts drafted in to speak to our students. Out of this world presentations by the National Space Agency on ‘Becoming an Astronaut’ led to a number of our students being invited to a trip to the Agency headquarters in Leicester. In June, we hosted the National Enterprise Challenge in which forty Year 8 students participated in economically driven exercises. The event was a huge success and one team was invited to the final in Telford. The assent of our Sporting Stars continued, our Year 9 Football boys won the Hull School’s Plate, the Year 7 boys won the SKYTRY RL nine-a-side competition, the Year 9 team won the Hull Schools Rounder’s League and our ‘New Age’ inclusive team diversified into the field of bowls.

Appleton Primary School

We have had an incredible year at Appleton Primary School and the children have had some fantastic opportunities to take part in many special occasions and events. Quality Mark Appleton has been awarded the Quality Mark for the 7th time in recognition for provision, practice and performance in respect of the basic skills of Literacy and Numeracy. Enterprise Day Year 5 pupils enjoyed their challenges at an Enterprise Day. Pupils took part in a range of activities including the tetrahedron challenge. Girls Science Day In March, as part of the Enthuse Award, girls from Year 4 went along to the Girls in Science event to work alongside several local businesses and Science Leads from our Multi-Academy Trust schools/academies. CPR At Appleton, we learn how to keep safe and healthy. By the time our children leave in Year 6, they will also have gained skills to help others with CPR. History Challenges Appleton pupils love a challenge. We have had some amazing projects from our “History Homework” challenges. World Book Day At Appleton we promote reading and reading for enjoyment. Our pupils enjoyed World Book Day and wore some amazing costumes. Our Snuggle Day was a great success, sharing stories and raising money for new class sets of books. Appleton Visits Year 1 and Year 2 had a fantastic Medieval Day with dressing up, dancing and a feast. Our pupils have benefited from several trips this year to promote learning across our broad curriculum. These have included the following: Year 5 and Year 6 trips to Magna and Driffield Show, a Year 1 and Year 2 trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park and Year 3 and Year 4 trips to museums and to KCOM Stadium.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) In EYFS, the termly parent and children singing sessions have been really popular and well attended. We look at new counting, action and nursery rhymes each session so that they can be used at home and school. We invited all of the foundation parents to our Spring Maths, showing the expected ages and stages and interesting ways to increase our maths knowledge. We have lots of visitors in EYFS and love finding out about people who help us in our community.

Bricknell Primary School

We have had an incredible year at Bricknell Primary School and the children have had some fantastic opportunities to take part in many special occasions and events. Animation Success In collaboration with Hull UK City of Culture 2017, our pupils produced an amazing time travelling animation into Hull’s past. The animation was recognised for its wonderful creativity and nominated for an Into Film Award. On 13 March pupils and staff travelled down to London to attend the awards ceremony where they were treated to the full red carpet treatment. Although the animation did not win its category, a fantastic day was had by all! Thanks must go to Mrs Newton who led the animation project and dedicated a lot of her own time into making it such a great success! Sporting Success This year has seen lots of children competing in many different sporting competitions and we are incredibly proud of them all. After coming second in their first round competition, the school badminton team finished fourth in the Hull Schools’ Finals. The school’s basketball teams continue to do extremely well in their ongoing competitions at Kelvin Hall School, led by Coach Kelsey. Year 4 and 5 football teams represented the school in the Hull Schools’ Football 5-a-side competition, and the year 6 team made it through to the quarter finals of the Humberside Cup, after an 8-2 victory over Airmyn Park Primary School from Goole and a 2-1 victory over Penshurst Primary from Hessle. A huge well done to all the children involved in all of our sporting competitions and successes this year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff involved in leading extra-curricular activities and enabling our pupils to take part in such a range competition events. High Adventure Residential Our Year 6 pupils thoroughly enjoyed their residential trip to High Adventure at the beginning of June this year and took part in a range of activities to help develop their resilience and team building skills. The activities ranged from canoeing and weaselling to completing the high ropes and archery. We were extremely proud of all of the children and every single one of them attempted every activity! Lots of was fun and excitement had by all and the children developed memories which will last a lifetime! Again, thanks must go to all of the staff who gave up their weekend to provide the children with such a wonderful opportunity.

Francis Askew Primary School

We have had an incredible year at Francis Askew Primary School and the children have had some fantastic opportunities to take part in many special occasions and events. Rock Challenge The J Rock team, from Francis Askew , has had a successful sixth year in the competition. In J Rock, children aged between 7 and 11 are expected to perform an eight-minute, dance-drama piece to an original concept imagined by the school. Made up of 64 children from KS2 and led by Miss Kingston and her very supportive staff team, the children performed a spin on the Disney classic ‘The Ugly Bug Ball’, competing in April 2018 at the Hull Ice Arena. It went down a storm – awarded 14 certificates (including ‘Positive Inclusion’, ‘Parental Involvement’ and ‘Performers’ Choice) and automatically qualifying through to the Northern J Rock Finals at Grimsby Auditorium in June. There, ten schools from across the North of England will compete for the overall title and I hope you will join us in wishing our team the best of luck! Sports Currently holding a three-consecutive-year Sainsbury’s School Games Gold Award, Francis Askew is well on the way to securing a fourth! Mrs Longden, who coordinates PE, has made it her mission to not only ensure that all children have taken part in in-school sports tournaments, but also is aiming for a whopping 100% from year 2 upwards to have taken part in an external event by the end of the year. This has ranged from netball to rugby, and New Age Kurling to orienteering, and children have qualified through to the Humberside finals in football, dodgeball and cross country. We have also hosted external providers, such as Hull FC, Hull Culture and Leisure tennis coaches and Yorkshire Cricket Club. With Sainsbury’s creating a Platinum Award for five consecutive golds, we are well on our way to securing this coveted honour! International Sports Off the back of our third International Schools Award, we were successfully awarded a large grant to be part of an Erasmus Plus project. Working with schools from Italy, Poland and Turkey, our teachers have focused on creating active citizens in each of the host schools. This has required a lot of travelling for Miss Mayo, Mrs Leach and Mrs Claughton! Last month, we invited the international teachers to experience everything Hull has to offer – we look forward to continuing to strengthen these links. Brush Bus We continue to be a school that promotes the importance of healthy oral hygiene and were pleased to host Look North honouring Ingrid Perry’s MBE!

Paisley Primary School

We have had an incredible year at Paisley Primary School and the children have had some fantastic opportunities to take part in many special occasions and events. Parental Involvement in Learning The high percentage of parental involvement in our children’s learning has again been a cause for celebration this academy year at Paisley Primary School. Parents Consultation Evenings achieved 96% attendance, despite the very adverse weather at the time! Homework is extremely well-supported. Parent Craft Afternoons are a strength of our school. Parents join their children to work on projects linked to Topic work. Parents of children in our Foundation Stage join us daily to support their children’s basic skills acquisition. Our Foundation Stage Mums and Dads days enjoy very healthy attendance, indeed! Enterprise Enterprise is an inherent feature of the curriculum at Paisley, linked to topic work. Termly, all phases of the school use Enterprise skills to create and design a product, or activity, linked to current learning. This culminates in a termly Enterprise Event in the hall, where products are on sale. Profits go into our Enterprise Fund to spend on resources to support children’s learning and well-being. Our School Council determines the winning Phase each term and that Phase becomes the proud holder of the school’s Enterprise Trophy. Children thoroughly enjoy this aspect of the curriculum and it is well-supported by all stakeholders. Curriculum Events We always run a variety of themed days at Paisley Primary School. Particular successes this year were our Interfaith Week and History Day, run by our leaders, Mrs. Howard and Mrs. Bursell, respectively. The History day was based on Amy Johnson and all areas of the curriculum were based around Amy, her life and achievements. Children produced super work in Literacy: recounts, diary entries, drama, biographies and recitals. Very good work in mathematics was around Amy’s flight to Australia: measurement, time, fractions and data handling. The children also made sketches of her Tiger Moth plane and did some splendid portraits. Celebratory assemblies took place after each curriculum event. During Interfaith Week, children reflected on and celebrated diversity and different faith groups and developed their understanding and awareness of different religions. This linked with ongoing work on British Values: tolerance, mutual respect, democracy and individual liberty. Children produced a variety of themed, spirited artwork, which contributed to a class, Tree of Hope. on the theme of, Standing up for Good. They also did some very reflective writing on the theme of Hope.

Safeguarding Accreditation Safeguarding is top priority for all schools, but, this year, Paisley Primary School was successful in gaining accreditation for our safeguarding practices and provision. We were very pleased that the systems and support we have in place, have been externally recognised and accredited.

Rise Academy

Tall Ships Monday 30 April 2018 - Friday 4 May 2018 After a very, very early Monday morning start, Rise Academy staff and 9 students from years 8, 9 and 10 arrived in Portsmouth and embarked on the Tall Ships yacht that was to be home for the next five days. They were met by the skipper and crew and were given a tour and brief. Once all were settled, the voyage set off from Portsmouth harbour sailing to Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Whilst on the voyage across the Solent, students and staff were given various roles and responsibilities! The group split into two teams ‘the badgers’ and ‘the foxes’ each taking turns to sail, cook and clean. The group were extremely tired and ready for a big meal and early night! All crew woke up to a beautiful morning, after breakfast and chores complete, they set sail to Poole. It was extremely choppy and the waves were crashing as they made the crossing. As we arrived in Poole it was a nice evening and some free time was given so the students could explore. Wednesday morning arrived and the crew woke to an extremely wet and windy one! It was doubtful if they would sail, but by 11am the weather changed and the crew set sail to Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. It wasn’t as rough and choppy like the previous day and the day turned out to be a glorious afternoon sailing. They docked in Yarmouth at a reasonable time and free time was given so that the students could explore once they had carried out their chores. Thursday was the last day of sailing for the crew as they set a short sail back to Portsmouth Harbour. It was a sunny, calm day as they sailed back across the Solent. It was that calm there was no wind so it was just a case of sailing back to the mainland and soaking up the rays. The skipper and crew decided to do some activities and rigged up the spinnaker pole enabling the students to abseil up and down, it was scary but good fun!! Skipper also created a scenario of “man overboard” where students had to rescue a buoy from the vessel. As they arrived in Portsmouth on the Thursday evening, a well earnt rest was needed after chores were carried out and bags packed ready for home the following day. Friday morning was an early start for everyone as the whole of the boat had to be cleaned throughout from top to bottom, once the skipper inspected our work, we set off for the long journey home at 10am with very tired students and staff! It had been a great week and an experience to remember!

At Stoneferry there have been many highlights during the year. We look to engage and inspire our pupils all the time and through doing so the children in school enjoy their schooling and look forward to their next opportunity. The following are just a few of the fun activities that children from each class in school have taken part in during the year which they wished to share. Foundation Stage 2 (FS2) The highlight in FS2 this year was when a space craft landed in the outdoor area! The children heard a big noise and went outside and saw the space craft. A day later we found the alien - we rang his Mum and found out he was called Stephen. We made rocket fuel so he could go home. Year 1 Life in Y1 in Stoneferry is different from one day to the next, but the most important thing to the class is that they are enjoying their learning. Together, both children and adults create a learning journey where mistakes are embraced and victories are celebrated. Recently they enjoyed a fantastic visit to the Maritime Museum to link in with their topic on Explorers and the children loved seeing all the artefacts relating to Hull’s rich fishing heritage, and the journeys our brave fisherman embarked upon. Year 2 As part of their work on habitats in Science and continents in Geography Year 2 visited The Deep. They explored the aquarium, took part in a workshop about the seashore and watched the dive show where divers fed the sharks! The class had a really fun day and learned lots of exciting facts. They were even given positive feedback about their exemplary behaviour from The Deep's staff. Year 3 In Year 3, they had two nurses from Hull Royal visit a science lesson. They learnt about the purpose of the bones and muscles in the body, whilst exploring X Rays, investigating different muscles and doing different activities where they assessed their pulse and heart rate. The children had the opportunity to look at different equipment used in hospitals, and hear their own heart beat using a stethoscope! Year 4 As part of their summer term topic Our City: Hull, Year 4 designed and planned images to make into tiles of famous Hull landmarks like The Deep, Humber Bridge, Hull Minster and the KCOM Stadium. With the help from a local pottery studio, Mushroom Pottery in Sutton, the children were taught how to use the clay to create their designs. We recently received their work back and they look amazing!

Year 5 Stage Year 5 were fascinated about World War 2. The highlight was a visit to Eden Camp which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The children also had the chance to work with a resident artist during the City of Culture celebrations and had a fabulous time looking at the Turner Prize at the Ferens Art Gallery. Year 6 Stage Year 6 throughout their topics have always enjoyed being creative and have particularly enjoyed designing and constructing Mayan temples, exploring shadows in Science by creating their own shadow puppets and also organising for each class in the school to plant a tree in our school grounds. The children particularly enjoy performing and had the opportunity to watch the World Voice Concert at St Mary’s school and will shortly be performing their summer show.

Our fantastic visit to The Deep (Year 2)

We have had an incredible year at Rokeby Park Primary School and the children have had some fantastic opportunities to take part in many special occasions and events. Early Years Foundation Stage The children in Nursery and Reception recently celebrated the Royal Wedding by designing and making their own wedding cake. They wrote lists of the ingredients needed and looked at ideas of different cake designs. They discussed different types of cakes and flavours and decided to make a three tired vanilla cake. The children thoroughly enjoyed being bakers for the afternoon and decorating their masterpiece. The best part was eating the cake! Year 1 Stage The children in Year 1 have had a very busy year! In September we went to Build a Bear. We worked collaboratively to decide which lucky teddy would become the newest member of our class. We choose Patch the dog. We were all very grown up and polite and a member of the public emailed the school to comment on how well behaved we were. Miss Ball and Miss Commander were very proud of us! We walked to Anlaby Methodist Church to get Patch christened. Andrew the minister performed the service. We took part in the service and made promises to love and care for Patch. He is now part of the church and the Rokeby family! We have all enjoyed taking Patch and his suitcase home for the weekend to write about our adventures! We have enjoyed learning through the talk for writing texts. Among our favourites were ‘Where’s My Teddy’, “Elmer” and “The Three Billy Goat’s Gruff”. We particularly enjoyed acting out the stories, creating puppets, building bridges and making them stronger! We are now fantastic, confident story writers and enjoy creating our books and providing Miss Ball with lots of ‘bedtime stories! Year 2 Stage One thing Year 2 particularly enjoyed this year was their class assembly which covered the Royal Wedding. Children enjoyed finding out facts about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In the build up to the assembly, children were creating their own wedding cards to send to the happy couple, designing posters advertising a royal feast in school and designing a wedding dress for Meghan. In rehearsals, children were enthused and this helped them to give their all on the day. One of the boys even found a poem at home which he read during the ceremony. The children displayed great acting techniques and projected their voices well. They also had fun learning Marry You by Bruno Mars and God Save the Queen. Year 3 Stage In December, Year 3 visited the Georgian Houses in Hull’s High Street. They also took part in a ‘Georgian Life at Christmas’ workshop at the Street Life Museum. Whilst there the pupils decorated a Christmas tree and set a table with Georgian

Year 4 Stage On Friday 13 October 2017 , we had an important visitor. He was called Gaius, and he was a Roman Centurion of the Sixth Legion which is based in York. He explained to us what it was like to be a Roman soldier and showed us some of the weapons Romans used in battle. His visit enabled us to gain a better understanding of civilisation under Roman rule. On the 24 January 2018, Year 4 travelled to the history centre in Hull. The trip was arranged as part of our topic on the Tudors. When there, the children examined Tudor documents that were linked to Hull. The children also got to go and have a look at the restoration room where documents that have been found are cleaned up and stored in a safe location. The trip was a huge success and the children were commended in an email to the school for their excellent behaviour and attitude towards learning. Year 5 Stage Year 5 had the fantastic opportunity to work with Konflux Theatre to create a play in only a day. They created a performance piece about the Solar System, which linked closely to their work in Science at the time and Guided Reading focus text. The children thoroughly enjoyed expressing their knowledge through the Arts and everybody joined in and enjoyed themselves- even the teachers! Year 5 performed it to the whole school who loved it so much, they whole school are now complete experts at all things Space. This experience inspired us to use the Arts within our classroom to explore other topics such as The Stuarts. Fantastic work Year 5! Year 6 In May this year, some of the Year 6 children along with Miss Chapman and Mr Williams went to Dobroyd Castle, Todmorden for three days of fun and adventure. The children (and the staff) had a wonderful time learning to work as part of a team to complete the challenges set. Whilst there, the children took part in a variety of tasks such as: the giant swing, the zip-wire, the crate challenge and the deadly ‘Piranha Pool’. Luckily, all the children and staff made it home safely!
