Film In A WeekMon 12 – Fri 16 AugMake your own short film in just five days in this popular award-winning project with professional film-maker Martin Steed. Make new friends and learn all the skills you need to script, shoot, edit and bring your idea to The Core’s big screen by the end of the week.

Theatre Summer SchoolMon 5 – Fri 9 & Mon 12 – Thu 15 Aug, 11am-5pmDevelop your performance skills and confidence as you work with Creative Director Chris Sudworth on the first staging of new drama The Case Of Whilton College, an outstanding new script written by Ryan Leder, a graduate of Corby Young Actors. The performance will take place on the evening of Thursday 15 August.

Play In A WeekTue 20 – Fri 23 Aug, 10am-4pmTumble into the curious, topsy-turvy world of Alice In Wonderland and discover the wonderful characters she meets along the way in this summer’s Play In A Week. Have lots of fun and make new friends as you re-create this charming tale with The Core’s Lisa Byrne and perform it to your friends and family at the end of the week.

Corby Young DancersThursdays, Sep 2013 – Apr 2014 7.30pm-9.30pm A six-month advanced training programme for dancers from all styles and backgrounds, aged 15 to 25. Moves Street DanceThursdays, 19 Sep – 21 Nov 5pm-6pm (ages 8-12) 6.15-7.15pm (ages 12+)B-Boys and B-Girls, show your moves and learn new techniques in this high energy dance class combining street, hip hop and commercial styles. Clicks MediaTuesdays, 17 Sep – 19 Nov 7pm-9pm Whether you’re an animation expert or you’ve never tried it before, this term’s Clicks Media sessions will take your 2D and 3D animation techniques to the next level as you develop your own narratives then weave them into a collaborative film.

The New Sound SessionsSat 7 Sep, 2pm-6pm Arun Ghosh (Performance 4 Oct)Mon 28 October, 5pm-9pm Jason Yarde (Performance 13 Dec)Confident young musicians of all styles are welcome to weave melodies and rhythms to find The New Sound in these masterclasses led by top contemporary jazz artists Arun Ghosh and Jason Yarde. Musicians taking part in these sessions are expected to commit to 3 further rehearsals and a performance alongside the headline artists during the following month.

Frantic Assembly: IgnitionMon 30 Sep – Taster Workshops, 7-9pmAward-winning company Frantic Assembly are holding taster sessions for their Ignition project. Along with actors and dancers, they want to meet footballers, free runners, swimmers, skaters and gymnasts. Those who are successful at the tasters will be called back for the regional trials on Thursday 10 October.

Deep Roots Tall Trees ChoirFridays, 13 Sep – 6 Dec 7pm-8.30pmThe Deep Roots Tall Trees Choir formed following the Queen’s Jubilee visit to Corby in 2012 and has gone from strength to strength. This fun and laid back choir attracts singers of all levels of ability and experience, led by professional choir director, Gareth Fuller. In partnership with Corby Community Arts, Deep Roots Tall Trees & Rosalind Stoddart.

The StandWednesdays, 18 Sep – 4 Dec 7.30pm-9.30pm Anyone is welcome to The Core’s resident writers’ collective. The Stand supports writers to develop their style and skills in a relaxed environment. The collective regularly performs - as a group and as individuals - and hosts events at The Core and other venues.
