Introduction:

From the beginning of recorded history man has been intrigued andenchanted with the universe. He has spent countless hours pondering thedepths and ramifications of the influences of the stars and planets. An untoldnumber of songs and poems have been written describing the awesomebeauty and majesty of the stars. My purpose in presenting this material is toshow the development of man's ideas and concepts about the universe andthe involvement of the Creator.

KJV Genesis 1:14 "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of theheaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and forseasons (mo-ade), and for days, and years"

KJV Genesis 2:4 "These are the generations of the heavens and of the earthwhen they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earthand the heavens".

THE AGE OF THE UNIVERSE:

The Bible and science do not contradict each other when it comes to the ageof the universe and earth. The major obstacle that has to be overcome is howdo we determine when to begin the counting process?

SCIENCE - COSMOLOGY

"In the Beginning" Biblical Creation and Science by Nathan Aviezerdescribes the cosmologist approach to the creation of the universe. In 1946,George Gamor and his colleagues proposed a new theory about the creationof the universe. This theory became known as the "big-bang". According tothis theory, some 15 billion years ago there was an energy expansionreferred to as the "fireball". This does not mean that something was actuallyburning but rather it was a concentration of pure energy. This energyconcentration produced electromagnetic radiation. Two American scientists,

Page 2: The Cosmic Clock

THE COSMIC CLOCK - God's Timepiece Page 22

Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson of the Bell Telephone ResearchLaboratories, were conducting a test when to their surprise they detected avery weak, unexplained electromagnetic force that seemed to be comingfrom all directions in outer space. This was exactly what George Gamor andcompany in their big-bang theory predicted. The research by Penzias andWilson resulted in the abandonment of all other theories and their receivinga Nobel Prize in Physics for their work in this area. One shortcoming in thistheory is that the cosmologists have no idea where this sudden unexplainedburst of pure energy originated.

SCRIPTURE - COSMOLOGY

The Large Scale Structure of Space-Time (S. W. Hawking and G. F. R. Ellis)states: "The actual point of creation lies outside the scope of presentlyknown laws of physics". Augustine said, "miracles do not happen incontradiction to nature, but only in contradiction to that which is known tous in nature". When men like Stephen Hawking started writing and speakingabout "creation" the term soon left the purely religious confines and soon thephysicist had to use this term when discussing the role of creation. Perhapswe can discover from the Scriptures the source of the concentration ofpure energy.

KJV Genesis 1:1,3 "In the beginning God created the heaven and theearth…. and God said let there be light and there was light".

Could this be the appearance of the primeval fireball that is thought to be thevery origin of the universe? All matter and energy in the universe emanatesfrom this very source. This energy consists of plasma and the concentratedpure energy. The effect of the plasma resulted in the appearance of darkness. This is why it is said that "God divided the light from (beyn, !yIB lit. outof) the darkness" (Gen. 1:4). Professor Aviezer, In The Beginning, (p.16)said, "The sudden transformation of the plasma into atoms shortly after thecreation caused the electromagnetic radiation ('light') of the primeval fireballto 'separate' from the previously dark universe and shine freely throughoutspace. This separation is called decoupling in scientific terminology. Thisdecoupled radiation ('light') was eventually detected 15 billion years later byPenzias and Wilson".

It now appears that we do not have a contradiction between science andScripture but rather a complementing. Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan in two of hisworks; Immortality, Resurrection and the Age of the Universe and histranslation of the Sefer Yetzirah, the Book of Creation describe another itemrelating to the 15 billion-year existence. Both of these books deal with theSabbatical cycles, not merely the 49 (50) year cycle of the jubilee, the yearof release, but also to the concept of the Sabbaticals of creation. The rabbisteach, based on some of their classics such as Sefer ha-Temunah, reshitHokhmah, and the Zohar, that each of the Sabbaticals of creation must bereckoned as divine years. The earthly solar years only can be counted fromthe creation of Adam in Genesis 2:7.

Quoting from "Immortality, Resurrection and the Age of the Universe" (p.9):"The 'Sefer ha-Temunah' is speaking of divine years when it states that theworld is forty-two thousand years old. This has some startling consequences, for according to many Midrashic sources, a divine day is 1,000 earthly yearslong, and a divine year consisting of 365 1/4 days is equal to 365,250 earthlyyears. Thus, according to Rabbi Isaac of Akka, the universe would be 42,000x 355,250 years old. This comes out to be 15,340,500,000 years, a highlysignificant figure. From calculations based on the expanding universe andother cosmological observations, modern science has concluded that the BigBang occurred approximately 15 billion years ago. But here we see the samefigure presented in a Torah source written over seven hundred years ago!"

Summary: Science and Scripture both agree that the universe is over 15billions years old. This carries us to the next point of discussion - TheAppearance of the Constellations.

THE APPEARANCE OF THE CONSTALLATIONS:

KJV Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth".KJV Genesis 1:6 "And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst ofthe waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made thefirmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from thewaters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called thefirmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day".

The Big Bang resulted in the plasmatic state; then subtle changes began totake place in a very short period of time. The sun and planets were formedfrom the primordial nebula resulting in a cloud of gas and dust. The force of

Page 4: The Cosmic Clock

THE COSMIC CLOCK - God's Timepiece Page 44

gravity began to exert its forces. The primordial nebula collapsed into itself. As it collapsed, it heated up to form the sun. Some have suggested that theseevents occurred in a very short period, perhaps within a three-earth dayperiod.

ADAM AND THE CONSTALLATIONS:

There are two things to consider when we begin to investigate man and hisrelationship to the stars. When do we start marking time and what is thesource by which we measure the marking of time? The answers can bededucted from the text of the Scriptures and science.

WHEN DO WE START MARKING TIME?

KJV Genesis 1:14 "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of theheaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and forseasons, and for days, and years".

We could translate the latter part of this verse in the following manner: "letthem be for a banner and for appointed times and for days and years". Theconstellations were planted in the heavens for the purpose of markingspecific epochs of time. These time frames are both solar and astronomicalin nature.

When do we start marking time? Our calendar today begins marking timefrom the time of the birth of Jesus. According to accepted dating we are nowin the year 1998. However let us take a closer look. We are approaching atime that is viewed by many as very mystical, the new millenium. Is thisupcoming year 2,001 a myth or is it based upon an actual ancient cycle oftime? A study of the ancient star maps will clear up something that hasbaffled scholars for centuries. If we follow the star map, the actual StarGlobe program used by NASA, we discover some very interesting patternsin the heavens. There have been several suggestions as to when Jesus wasactually born. The most likely have been either 3,5 or 7 BCE.

If we view the Star Globe Map 1, toward the East in the city of Bethlehem at51.2 degrees of the horizon in 5 BC we would witness what appears to be adouble star, Regulus aligned with Venus descending in the heavens givingthe appearance of a very large star that came from nowhere. In reality, this

Page 5: The Cosmic Clock

THE COSMIC CLOCK - God's Timepiece Page 55

alignment took place on September 15, 5 BC at 3:00 AM. This pattern hasnot occurred again since that time.

This information clearly reveals that if we use the commonly accepteddating system, which is supposedly based on the birth of Jesus, we shouldadjust it to accommodate the actual time and positioning of the stars. This isthe only astronomical phenomenon that occurred during that period thatcould explain the sign in the sky associated with the birth narrative. Therefore the actual date today is 2003. If there is to be any consistency, theNew Year should begin on September 15 rather than on January 1.

Another interesting astronomical event occurred on March 28, 28AD at 2:15PM. The Star Globe Map 2 shows the same pattern of alignment of Venusand Regulas that was seen on September 15, 5 BC with this majordifference. This time Venus is not in decline but rather it is ascending. Thisevent occurs within the time frame that many scholars say that Jesusascended into heaven based on the chronology sequence of the NewTestament. There is an ancient saying that I have not been able to track to itsorigins that says; "…and you leave when the heavens are in the samepattern, meaning that you leave upon your star".

Even with this adjusted calendar, how do we know that this is actually 2003?The answer is that when considering the Star Globe map 1 we are sure thatthe astronomical phenomenon that occurred during this period could explainthe sign in the sky associated with the birth narrative of Jesus. However, wedo not know EXACTLY what year we are in when considering theastronomical calendar, i.e. the age of the universe. Scholars and religiousleaders, particularly the Catholic Church, have given us the Gregorian yearthat we are currently using. The ancients were not charter members of "TheFlat Earth Society". The idea of the earth being the center of the universeand the earth being flat was contrived by the Catholic Church to control themasses. This is reflected in their dating system that is based on the sun ratherthan the constellations.

1. The answer to when we start marking time is again revealed to us in theScriptures. Genesis 1:14 begins the marking of time from the earthlyvantage. However, we need to consider additional information.

KJV Genesis 2:4 "These are the generations of the heavens and of the earthwhen they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and

Page 6: The Cosmic Clock

THE COSMIC CLOCK - God's Timepiece Page 66

the heavens". This text says that these are the "generations". How do wemark the generation that we are currently experiencing? This isaccomplished in two ways. We mark the time based on the generations ofhumanity. Simply, we count the generations of humanity beginning with thecreation of "the Adam" of Genesis 2:7. Counting from that reference pointwe deduct that from the creation of Adam to the present is about 6,000years. The Jewish Calendar, based on Seder Olam, reckons this year's date tobe 5759 from the creation of the Adam. Earthly time is spelled out in years, the time it takes the earth to make one circle around the sun. This is lineartime. The Cosmic clock is not counted in this manner.

2. The second method used to mark time is an observation of the heavenlybodies. This method of observation is commonly know by three terms: "TheGreat Year"; "The Platonic Year"; "The Progression of the Equinoxes". TheGreek philosopher Plato was the first to record that the earth did not alwaysremain in a fixed position in the universe. He noticed that the Earth's axiswobbled in clockwise motion (the rotation of the earth is counter clockwise, not to be confused with the axis) that would ultimately make a completecircle. Later astronomers validated the claims of Plato. The ancients werenot charter members of the flat earth society.

The following explanation is not intended for the scholar but rather thelayman. The Big Bang sent out an electromagnetic field that fills theuniverse. The electromagnetic field causes, in varying degree, gravity.Gravity is everywhere in the universe, but its effect is different in variousplaces. The gravitational force on the moon is less than on earth. The earthspins through the universe much like a top. The gravitational pull of theMoon and Sun and the rotating motion causes the earth to wobble much likea top's axis. This wobble or axis traces a circle in the sky while maintaininga tilt of 23.5 degrees to the perpendicular. This wobble is calledprogression. This is a very slow process. In fact it takes 25,800 years tomake one.

"If you watch the sky over a period of time, say several months, you willdiscover that new constellations appear in the eastern sky and old onesdisappear from the western sky. For example, on an early July eveningacross most of North America, Europe, and Asia the constellation Scorpiuswill be visible on the southern half of the sky. On December eveningsScorpius is not visible. Instead you will see the brilliant constellation Orion, the hunter.

Page 7: The Cosmic Clock

THE COSMIC CLOCK - God's Timepiece Page 77

The discovery that different stars are visible at different times of the year isextremely important to early people because it provided a means to measurethe passage of time other than by simply counting days. Moreover, the starsdemonstrated that many celestial events are predictable and that they may beused to order our lives on earth. For example, using the constellationsmentioned above, if evening sky shows Leo, it will soon be time to plant. Ifthe sky shows Scorpius, it must be summer, and if it shows Orion, it must bewinter. Determining the season by using the stars may sound strange topeople living in climates with strong temperature differences betweensummer and winter. But for the ancient civilizations that were based insemitropical climates, such temperature differences are much smaller"(Prehistoric Astronomy p. 23).

The ancients plotted out the course of the stars. They gave names to the 12constellations. These names are called the signs of the Zodiac. No one canlook into the stars and see "signs" associated with the constellations. Thesesigns Taurus, Aries, Libra etc., are mere figments of their imaginations. Each of the 12 houses of the Zodiac is called an age. Each of the 12 agescovers a period of 2,150 solar years each resulting in 25,800 solar years in acomplete progression. As the earth wobbles in this progression the sunmoves slowly backwards to the apparent position of the Zodiac. The sun'sposition in the Zodiac when viewed on successive Vernal Equinoxes revealsthe movement of the constellations.

Summary:

To reckon time we must consider the two views presented. There is timefrom the creation of the heavens and the earth in Genesis 1 and time fromthe creation of Adam in Genesis 2. The universe is over 15.2 billion yearsold, Genesis 1, while the generations from Adam (Genesis 2) record onlyabout 6,000 years. This is how science and Scripture are reconciled. Solaryears measure the time from the Adam of Genesis 2:7. The cosmic dating isfrom the beginning of the creation (Genesis 1:1). God placed the stars andplanets to determine appointed time and seasons.

ASTRONOMY AND ASTROLOGY:

There must not be any confusion as to the differences in these twodisciplines. Astronomy is the study of the heavenly bodies as they move

Page 8: The Cosmic Clock

THE COSMIC CLOCK - God's Timepiece Page 88

through the vastness of space. Astrology is the study of the influences of theheavenly bodies upon the lives of the inhabitants of earth.

ASTRONOMY:

I think our pervious discussions are sufficient in the areas of the beginningof the universe and the science of observation. However, I would like tomake an additional comment about the position of the constellations. Sincethere is no exact way of determining the ending of one epoch of time and thebeginning of the next, the best we can do is give the approximate time of theCosmic Clock.

The dawning of the Age of Aquarius is upon us. This is a term used toexplain that on the first day of spring (Vernal Equinox) we are entering thisAge of Aquarius. The big question is which spring? It will takeapproximately 2,150 solar years for the spring sun to travel through theconstellation of Aquarius to the constellation of Capricorn. Since there is agradual shift of the ages there is no exact date that can be noted as the actualdate of the beginning of Aquarius. All we can say is, "Welcome to thedawning of the Age of Aquarius". We would have to live 25,800 years towitness one Great Year. The Zodiac is the master calendar or the face of thePlatonic year, the Cosmic Clock!

How would you like to be a time traveler? If you desire, come with me onthis time machine. All we have to do is set the year and move the controls toforward or reverse. We can travel in any direction in this fabulous machine. As we move back in time we can see the constellations move through thereprogression. The faster we go the greater the movement of the constellations. In a matter of seconds we go back 25,800 years, one great year. Movingfaster, we can go back 50, 100, or 1,000 great years and to our amazementthe constellations remain constant. Now, we must return to the present andreenter the real world.

ASTROLOGY:

Zodiac comes from a Greek word that is derived from a primitive roottraced back to the Hebrew word sodi, which means a way. It is used for theway or path of the sun. The sun appears to move among the stars in thecourse of the year.

The following article was taken from the Encyclopaedia Britannica CDversion:

"Astrology is a type of divination that consists in interpreting the influenceof planets and stars on earthly affairs in order to predict or affect thedestinies of individuals, groups, or nations. At times regarded as a science, astrology has exerted an extensive or a peripheral influence in manycivilizations, both ancient and modern. Astrology has also been defined as apseudoscience and considered to be diametrically opposed to the theoriesand findings of modern science. A brief treatment of astrology follows.

Astrology originated in Mesopotamia, perhaps in the 3rd millennium BC,but attained its full development in the Western world much later, within theorbit of Greek civilization of the Hellenistic period. It spread to India in itsolder Mesopotamian form. Islamic culture absorbed it as part of the Greekheritage; and in the Middle Ages, when western Europe was stronglyaffected by Islamic science, European astrology also felt the influence of theOrient.

The Egyptians also contributed, though less directly, to the rise of astrology. They constructed a calendar, containing 12 months of 30 days each with fivedays added at the end of the year, that was subsequently taken over by theGreeks as a standard of reference for astronomical observations. In orderthat the starry sky might serve them as a clock, the Egyptians selected asuccession of 36 bright stars whose risings were separated from each otherby intervals of 10 days. Each of these stars, called decans by Latin writers, was conceived of as a spirit with power over the period of time for which itserved; they later entered the zodiac as subdivisions of its 12 signs.

In pre-Imperial China, the belief in an intelligible cosmic order, comprehended aspects of which would permit inferences on correlateduncomprehended aspects, found expression in correlation charts thatjuxtaposed natural phenomena with the activities and the fate of man. Thetransition from this belief to a truly astrological belief in the direct influenceof the stars on human affairs was slow, and numerous systems ofobservation and strains of lore developed. When Western astronomy andastrology became known in China through Arabic influences in Mongoltimes, their data was also integrated into the Chinese astrological corpus. Inthe later centuries of Imperial China it was universal practice to have ahoroscope cast for each newborn child and at all decisive junctures in life.

Page 10: The Cosmic Clock

THE COSMIC CLOCK - God's Timepiece Page 1010

Once established in the Classical world, the astrological conception ofcausation invaded all the sciences, particularly medicine and its allieddisciplines. The Stoics, espousing the doctrine of a universal 'sympathy'linking the microcosm of man with the macrocosm of nature, found inastrology a virtual map of such a universe. Greek astrology was slow to beabsorbed by the Romans, who had their own native methods of divination, but by the time of Augustus, the art had resumed its original role as a royalprerogative. Attempts to stem its influence on the populace met repeatedlywith failure.

Throughout pagan antiquity the words astronomy and astrology had beensynonymous; in the first Christian centuries the modern distinction betweenastronomy, the science of stars, and astrology, the art of divination by thestars, began to appear. As against the omnipotence of the stars, Christianitytaught the omnipotence of their Creator. To the determinism of astrologyChristianity opposed the freedom of the will. But within these limits theastrological worldview was accepted. To reject it would have been to rejectthe whole heritage of classical culture, which had assumed an astrologicalcomplexion. Even at the centre of Christian history, Persian magi werereported to have followed a celestial omen to the scene of the Nativity.

Although various Christian councils condemned astrology, the belief in theworldview it implies was not seriously shaken. In the late European MiddleAges, a number of universities, among them Paris, Padua, Bologna, andFlorence, had chairs of astrology. The revival of ancient studies by thehumanists only encouraged this interest, which persisted into theRenaissance and even into the Reformation.

It was the Copernican revolution of the 16th century that dealt the geocentricworldview of astrology its shattering blow. As a popular pastime orsuperstition, however, astrology continued into modern times to engage theattention of millions of people, this interest being catered to in the 20thcentury by articles in the daily press, by special almanacs, and by astrologymanuals". (Copyright 1994-1998 Encyclopaedia Britannica)

ASTROMONY AND ASTROLOGY:THE CORRUPTION OF THE SYSTEM

There are 12 signs of the zodiac in the great year and also in the solar year. The solar zodiac is considered in relation to the position of earth, the

Page 11: The Cosmic Clock

THE COSMIC CLOCK - God's Timepiece Page 1111

constellations and the movement of the planets within the constellations. Thepositions of the constellations and movement of the planets determine theinfluences projected upon the person born under any given sign. Astrology isviewed by many as primitive superstition; however, the Bible is filled withreferences to the position of the stars and perhaps their influence, bothpositive and negative. The references reveal the positive and negative natureof the occult and astrology. God does not tell us to refrain from theseactivities. God clearly said, do not do what the nations do! It was not the useof astronomy and astrology that is condemned in the Bible is the abuse ofthe systems. Perhaps the corruption began when the ancient Israelitesdirected their worship toward the sun and not the heavens that declare theworks of Yahovah.

KJV Ezekiel 8:16 "And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'Shouse, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between theporch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs towardthe temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and theyworshipped the sun toward the east".

KJV Psalm 19:1 "{To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.} The heavensdeclare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2 Dayunto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. 4 Theirline is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun".

For the past several years I have been involved in a study that I have notmade public. The study is in the area of magnetic resonation. Simply, everything in the universe resonates. I remember when my children weretaking piano, someone told me the story of a tuning fork. If two tuning forksof the same pitch are placed beside each other and one fork is struck so thatit emits its pitch the other fork will begin resonating also. This is referred toas sympathetic resonation. Could this be what the write of Psalms 19 had inmind when he said "There is no speech nor language, where their voice isnot heard"? Perhaps those who are tuned in to the cosmos resonate with thestars and planets.

KJV Deuteronomy 18:9 "When thou art come into the land which the LORDthy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations ofthose nations. 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh

Page 12: The Cosmic Clock

his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, oran observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or aconsulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all thatdo these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of theseabominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee".

KJV Jeremiah 10:2 "Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of theheathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen aredismayed at them".

KJV Deuteronomy 4:19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, andwhen thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host ofheaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which theLORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

Job is thought to be the oldest written record in the Tanach. Notice theimportance that Job places on the stars. I will also list a number of othersreferences that clearly reveal the importance that the stars hold in the lives ofthe ancients. "In the Hebrew Scriptures, there are 23,144 verse. Of theseverses, 886, or 3.74 percent, refer to one or more of the following: Heavens,Sun, Moon, Stars, lights, constellations (the word), constellations (by name),Host of Heaven, Stars by name, planets by name. Of these verses, only 222refer to these heavenly phenomena as natural phenomena in their naturalsetting. Fully 74 percent of these verses, 644 in all, refer to theseheavenly bodies as being directly involved in making manifest the will ofGod either as omens, as witness, or as active agents." (The AstrologicalSecrets of the Hebrew Sages, p. 91).

KJV Job 9:9 "Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and thechambers of the south".

KJV Job 38:31 "Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loosethe bands of Orion? 32 Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth (H4216 h'rZ"m;mazzarah {maz-zaw-raw'} ¤ apparently from 05144 in the sense ofdistinction; the 12 signs of the Zodiac and their 36 associatedconstellations) in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? 33Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereofin the earth?"

Page 13: The Cosmic Clock

THE COSMIC CLOCK - God's Timepiece Page 1313

KJV Psalm 147:4 "He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all bytheir names".

KJV Isaiah 13:10 "For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereofshall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and themoon shall not cause her light to shine. 11 And I will punish the world fortheir evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy ofthe proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. 12 I willmake a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the goldenwedge of Ophir. 13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shallremove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the dayof his fierce anger".

KJV Amos 5:8 "Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneththe shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night:that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face ofthe earth: The LORD is his name".

As with almost everything in the creation, men soon corrupted the system ofstar observation. I will show later that the ancients knew of the influence ofthe stars.

KJV Deuteronomy 18:9 "When thou art come into the land which the LORDthy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations ofthose nations. 10 There shall not be found among you any one that makethhis son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, oran observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or aconsulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all thatdo these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of theseabominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee".

KJV Deuteronomy 13:1 "If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer ofdreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 2 And the sign or the wondercome to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 3 Thou shalt not hearkenunto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORDyour God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God withall your heart and with all your soul. 4 Ye shall walk after the LORD yourGod, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and yeshall serve him, and cleave unto him".

KJV 2 Kings 23:5 “And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kingsof Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities ofJudah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burnedincense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets(tAlZ”M;l;w>),, H4208 lZ”m; mazzalah {maz-zaw-law’} ¤apparently from 05140 in the sense of raining; TWOT - 1173; n f ¤ AV -planet 1; 1 ¤ 1) constellations 1a) signs of zodiac (maybe), and to all thehost of heaven”.

KJV Isaiah 47:13 "Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Letnow the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up,and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee".

Enoch, the non-canonical book, reveals more information than do the writersof the Tanach. Enoch provides the names of the stars and goes as far asgiving them specific characteristics. If Abraham, Jacob and others wereignorant of Astrology, why did they react as they did when given promisesand visions associated with the heavenlies? Yahovah told Abraham that hisseed would be as the stars of the heavens. KJV Genesis 22:17 "That inblessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as thestars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore…." KJVGenesis 37:9 "And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun andthe moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me". When Jacob heardJoseph's second dream he moved swiftly in response to it. Moses and theprophets go to great links to make a distinction between the practice of theungodly and Torah Astrology. I think it ironic that even those in the Jewishcommunity who reject any aspects of Astrology are affected by it. MazalTov is a congratulation given on special occasions. What does mazal tovmean? The shocker is that the term is literally "good stars"! The Creatornever condemns Astrology, only as it is practiced by the nations. God calledtheir practice an abomination! The rabbis say that the stars do have an affecton the non-Jew but the Jews are not impacted by any of the astrologicalinfluences (Talmud Bavil - Shabbath 156a). The scientific world is notimmune to the subtle influences of the stars. A person who has lost controlof their emotions is called a lunatic. The doctors have seen how thebehavioral patterns change with the phases of the moon.

Genesis 11 records the story of the building of the tower unto the heavens. This story has been misunderstood by most. They take it as a totally negativestory. Let us examine the content closely. KJV Genesis 11:4 "And they said,Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven;and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of thewhole earth". The tower unto the heavens was an astronomical observationpoint. The purpose was to determine specific geographical locations onearth. They were using the stars as navigational points hence the phase "lestwe be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth". The elohim sawwhat the people were doing and decided that it was not in their best interest, resulting in the confusion of language and the scattering of the people. Thereis an interesting possibility revealed to us in Genesis 11:9. "Therefore is thename of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the languageof all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon theface of all the earth". Babel could be understood in the following manner."Bab" could mean empire or kingdom. It could mean gate also. "El" is thename of God. Could this be the first reference to "the star gate" to thekingdom of God? The elohim knew that by using the stars as navigationalreference points here on earth could result in something far greater, the gateto the kingdom of the elohim!

The Astrological Secrets of the Hebrew Sages and Above the Zodiacconclude that the 12 sons of Jacob actually reflect the working of theconstellations on earth: "I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore" Genesis 22:17. Each of thetribes has as its ensign one of the signs of the Zodiac. The Scriptures do notprovide the date of the births of the sons of Jacob. The only source that Ihave located that ascribe the signs of the Zodiac to the 12 tribes is YalkutShimoni - Lev. 418. The blessing of Jacob on his sons, Genesis 48-49, is saidto reflect the influence of the stars in the lives of each. If you are interestedin pursuing a full discourse on this subject, I suggest the reading of the twobooks mentioned at the head of this paragraph.

WHAT TIME IS IT ONTHE COMIC CLOCK?

I stated previously that we are leaving Pisces and are entering Aquarius.Aquarius represents the Water Bearer. The sign of this constellation is awoman pouring water from a container. If we reverse the Cosmic Clock and

go back 6,000 plus years we would be in the age of Gemini, the twins.Genesis two records the creator of Adam, both male and female twins. Some2,000 years later we enter the age of Taurus, the bull. The ancientBabylonians worshipped the bull. Moving forward to the time of the Exoduswe enter the age of Aries, the Ram. God said that Nissan was the beginningof days from the sons of Jacob. They killed and ate the Ram, Aries, denotingthe entrance into the age of Aries, the Ram. Could this be the reason that theancient Israelites built the Golden Calf, which is definitely associated withTaurus? They did not realize what the Creator was trying to teach them. Thenext stop on our cosmic journey would be Pisces, two fish swimming in bothdirections. The fish is the symbol of the Christian church. Christianity isprimarily a religion of faith.

Did the ancient prophets see the dawning of this great day of Aquarius?Could this be the reason for their constant reference to the sprinkling ofwater that results in purification? If Pisces was the age of the fish swimmingin opposite directions then Aquarius is age of purification and reason.Aquarius is the age of knowledge not faith. As man increases inknowledge there will be a universal unification, truly the Age of Aquariuswhen all live in peace and harmony. Perhaps Daniel understood the meaningof "seasons" as recorded in Genesis 1:14. He was looking for the appointedtime for the redemption and restoration, The Age of Aquarius (mo-ade"appointed time" Dan. 8:19; 11:27,29,35). Jeremiah 17:13 "O LORD, thehope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that departfrom me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD,the fountain of living waters".

KJV Ezekiel 36:19 "And I scattered them among the heathen, and they weredispersed through the countries: according to their way and according totheir doings I judged them. 20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them,These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land. 21But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profanedamong the heathen, whither they went. 22 Therefore say unto the house ofIsrael, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house ofIsrael, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among theheathen, whither ye went. 23 And I will sanctify my great name, which wasprofaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them;and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when Ishall be sanctified in you before their eyes. 24 For I will take you from

among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring youinto your own land. 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and yeshall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanseyou. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put withinyou: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will giveyou an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause youto walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them".

KJV Joel 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out myspirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, yourold men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And alsoupon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out myspirit. 30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, andthe moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORDcome. 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name ofthe LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall bedeliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORDshall call".

KJV Isaiah 44:3 "For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floodsupon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessingupon thine offspring".

KJV Isaiah 45:8 "Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pourdown righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it".

KJV Zechariah 12:10 "And I will pour upon the house of David, and uponthe inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: andthey shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn forhim, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, asone that is in bitterness for his firstborn".

Conclusion:

Did the ancients know that the Cosmic Clock was moving ever so slowlyand that the events upon the earth were merely the reflection of what wastaking place in the cosmos? The heavens and earth are operating in sequencelike a great symphony. There is a cosmic drama being played out, the

Page 18: The Cosmic Clock

heavenly messengers, the stars, and the human actors each playing theirparts.

Science and Scripture, Astronomy and Astrology are all working together inthe unfolding master plan of the Creator. Those who are not afraid to lookbeyond the bounds of earth to the Cosmic Clock of the Creator can see itshands as they move through the annals of time.
