International branding

Madrid used evidence included in the Monitor to understand which cultural and creative assets the Spanish capital should focus on in its branding and investment strategy.

Policy strategyGeneva and Győr used the Monitor to analyse future investments needs and re-designed their cultural and creative economy strategies accordingly. For instance, Geneva highlighted that communication campaigns are needed to raise locals’ awareness of the city’s rich cultural offer.

Good practice exchange

Leeuwarden and the Eurocities network used the Monitor to understand common strengths and challenges and organised a peer-learning

session to discuss the way forward.

Local evaluation tool

On behalf of Edinburgh City Council and the University of Edinburgh, the company Ray Interactive developed a new

touchscreen-based tool allowing the Eurocities

Conference 2018’s attendees to visualise and interact with

the Monitor’s data.
