LIGO-India
Laser Interferometric Gravitational-wave
Predicted in Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, gravitational wavesare propagating disturbances in the curvature of spacetime caused bythe motions of matter. Gravitational waves do not travel "through"spacetime as such the fabric of spacetime Itself is oscillating
LIGO-India received in-principle approval from GoI.
DAE-DST hree lead institutes are participating (IPR, RRCAT and IUCAA).
Land Acquisition in progress.
