INT. KITCHEN-NIGHT TIME

The camera starts behind Scot and slowly tracks aroundrevealing the Devil and Scot sitting at the kitchen table. The kitchen is a basic apartment kitchen, nothing toofancy. Scot is a 20 some odd year old, regular build, witha little bit of scruff, slightly shaggy hair, white collaredshirt and slacks, and he looks worn down from stress andjust life in general. The Devil is a slightly larger man, dressed similar to Scot just more up kept, and appears to behappy with himself through his demeanor. A bottle of Jack

Daniels and a 357 handgun with three bullets remaining isplaced on the table between them. Both characters areholding glasses. Scot’s glass is mostly empty, while theDevil’s glass is completely full. The Devil closely examinesthe liquid that is contained in the glass.

DEVILOf all the things in this world, sin is the most consistent act ofman.

SCOT(staring into the glass)

But why would sh..

DEVILWhy is irrelevant. It’s neitherhere nor there. What is relevantis the choice you make. What youdecide echoes for all eternity...

SCOTI love her. I could never doanything to hurt her. Even if shecould do this to m...

The Devil smiles at his glass and sits it down as he reachesout to pick up the gun. He examines it for a bit theremoves the three bullets that were in it. He sits the gundown with the bullets still remaining in his other hand.Slowly, he begins to place the bullets down on the table. Heis watching intently as he puts the first and second bulletdown.

SCOTWhat are you doing?

The Devil looks up with an annoyed look on his face thenlooks down at the last bullet in his hand and smiles. Hebegins to put the last bullet on the table.

DEVILYou asked me why would someoneleave heaven..

SCOT(looking up from his glass)

Yeah?

DEVILWhat if I told you that heaven andhell didn’t exist, at least in theway that people commonly perceive

them?

SCOT(slightly laughing)

I wouldn’t believe you. There isgood and evil so there has to beheaven and hell...

DEVILGood and evil are merely afterthoughts to a reaction. The twoonly exist because you can’t haveone with out knowing the other.

SCOTI don’t...I don’t understand. Whereis this going?

DEVILYou don’t understand because youhaven’t reacted yet.

A shot of Scot standing in front of his wife pointing thegun towards her is spliced quickly into the frame.

SCOTReacted? You mean, committedmurder. I’m not evil, I can’t...

The Devil stands up abruptly pushing his chair down in theprocess.

DEVIL(yelling)

Not evil? Who’s gun is this? Who’spointing it at who?

Scot’s places his hand on the table and begins to move his

trigger finger, his hand are shaking.

SCOT(panicky)

I can’t pull the trigger. I can’t..

DEVIL(yelling)

There has to be a choice made here. What’s good and what’s evil play nopart in deciding between right orwrong. What feels right? What!Feels! Right?

Scot closes his eyes beginning to weep. He drops his headonto the table and continues to cry. The Devil puts hischair back in place and takes a seat. He picks up thebullets on the table and begins to examine them again.

DEVILThere was a wise person who oncesaid that there is a thin linebetween love and hate.

The Devil drops one of the bullets into his glass revealingthat it is only the bullet casing left. Before the bullet

hits the bottom of the glass the shot of the gun firing iscut into the shot. The bullet hits the table.

DEVILThis line can be crossed in theblink of an eye, or with the flickof the tongue. Hate builds wherelove falls apart.

Dropping the second bullet, once again it is shown to onlybe the shell again. The shot of the second gun firing is cutinto the shot right before the bullets hits the the bottomof the glass.

DEVILYou asked me why would someoneleave heaven. The life given to youis heaven. People leave heaven forall different types ofreasons. Why do you want to leave?
