Field Day

Our Field Day is set for Friday, May 16th. If you have not already signed up to volunteer, please contact the office. We need lots of volunteers in order to make this day happen. It’s something the students look forward to all year!

Middle School Summer School Programs

Brochures have gone out about summer enrichment opportunity for

our outgoing 6th

grade students. Each of our middle schools will be

offering summer programs that will run from 8:00 a.m. until 12 p.m.,

and will be held for four weeks during the month of June. Space is

limited, so please get your registration in soon.

THANK YOU PTA, for providing a great experi-

ence for our students this year.

We would also like to thank our PTA board, Amy

Luginbill , Kate Bygrave, Renee McArthur and

Leslie Seaman for their service throughout the

year.

School Attire

As the weather becomes warmer, please be aware

of appropriate attire for school. Please avoid cloth-

ing that could be considered too revealing or dis-

tracting in any way.

Lost and Found

The school year is coming to a close. If your child is

missing any items, please check the lost and found

before we break for the summer. All items will be

donated to Good Will at the end of the school year.

“ Do your best and help the rest!”

MAP Assessment April 28 - May 21

Bellevue Public Schools will administer the Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) beginning April 28th. MAP tests replaced the Terra Nova tests previously given. MAP tests present students with engaging, age-appropriate content. As a student responds to questions, the test responds to the student, adjusting up or down in difficulty. The result is a rewarding experience for the stu-dents, and a wealth of detailed information for teachers, parents and administrators. This data has allowed us to better meet the instructional needs of each student. Parents received the MAP reports in October and January. All students will take the MAP assessment between April 28th and May 21st. Reports from these tests will be used to measure academic growth and further guide instruction. Teachers will provide specific information about dates and times their classes will be testing. Please try to avoid scheduling doctor or dentist appointments during this time. Re-search has shown that students rarely perform as well when they have to make up a test.

Report Cards

Report Cards will be mailed home on

June 2nd.

Kindergarten Celebration

The Kindergarten Celebration will be held on Friday,

May 9th, at 2:00 p.m. Parents are invited to come cele-

brate with the students as they are recognized for their

accomplishments during the past year.

Enjoy your summer and don’t forget to read!
