The Douglas H. Fabio Quality Week is an opportunity to highlight staff efforts toward quality
improvement within Tarrant County Public Health. The following displays represent the Quality
Improvement Projects completed for the year.
#1 Consumer Health Division:
Decreasing food establishment inspections that are past due.

WIC: Increase Exclusive
Breastfeeding Infants in WIC.
#3 North Texas Regional Laboratory:
Extension of the Coliform sample submission cut-off time.

Health Informatics: Health information
exchange – increase detection of pertussis cases.
#5 Environmental Health:
Reduction of one incomplete OSSF permit per month.
#6 Public Health
Preparedness: Increasing public health
Safety Warden’s knowledge.
#7 Customer Service:
Increasing the number of WIC client surveys completed.

WIC: Decreasing WIC call
center hold times.
#9 Adult Health Services:
Improving clinic patient flow.

Travel Health Services: Simplifying customer forms to reduce completion times.

West Nile virus program improvement.

follow up phone calls.

Increase revenue from copays and fees.

Health Planning & Policy: Increasing staff knowledge of Health Planning & Policy
activities.

records requests.

DSRIP: Developing a process for the distribution of DSRIP
funds for departmental projects.
#17 Epidemiology:
Increase the number of health care provider groups reporting
Notifiable Conditions.

Chronic Disease Prevention:
Increasing staff’s knowledge about all services offered by
the Chronic Disease Division.
#19 Tuberculosis Elimination:
Improving treatment completion for people with Latent TB Infection when given a combination of
Rifapentine/Isoniazid (3HP).
