Once, there was a child, who moved to the U.S., but when the child was 7, there was a very interesting event. It happened in the Philippines. The child's dad was going to see his sister, the

child's aunt, and the child's cousins. The child's aunt had 3 children; two are older than the child while the other one is the same age. When the child and the dad went there, the child's aunt and cousins ran to the child in happiness. All the children played Hide n' Seek, with the oldest cousin as the seeker and

everyone else as the hiders. The aunt's house was in the woods. It was nearby different mountains, trees, and tall grass.

There is a belief about The Duwende

in the Philippines-they stay in forests and if you want to

enter their territory, you will need to say "Tabi-Tabi po nuno" so they will allow you

to enter, otherwise providing a curse. It also depends on its

type (good/evil Duwendes).

Going back to the game, the child wanted to hide well. The child saw a gigantic tree with a hole and decided to hide there. The

child forgot about what was told about the Duwende and didn't mind of what to say and stayed long. Later, the child went

outside of the tree and went back. When the cousins saw the child, they said that they gave up because the child was hiding so well. Before dinner, something strange happened. The child was in a comma for 3 days, or in other words, the child is seeing

things and reacting unnecessarily. The family tried to help by bringing the child to a common hospital, but not a single person knew what was wrong. The aunt helped by asking her kids what was going on outside that time. They said they were just playing

hide n' seek and the child was the hardest to find.

The aunt and dad thought it was the doing of an Evil Duwende. They took

the child to an Albularyo (Witch Doctor) to see what the problem

truly was.

The dad told the child that once the child was in the Witch Doctor's house, the Witch Doctor will sense the evil in the

child's precesnce. The witch lit a candle. Next, she filled a tub with 1-2 inches of water. Then, she added special oil from a

plant into the tub. After that, she chanted in an unknown language. Soon, the child's uncle said the mixture showed a

figure of a tree with a hole. Inside the hole was a person, referring to the child, and surrounding the child was 4-5 Duwendes, some standing and starring while some are

throwing something at the child.

The witch instructed them to return to the location, say "Tabi-tabi po Nuno", and give fruits as offerings. They did as told and the child forgot the next

day.
