Shape in Art An element of art that is an enclosed space

where the boundaries are defined by other elements of art.

Shapes are limited to two dimensions: length and width. Shapes can be Geometric, circles, rectangles, squares, triangles or Organic, found in nature.

defined edges and can create strength and power in a photograph.

shape, and is best accentuated by side lighting since it casts soft shadows. This difference between light and shadows gives a better illustration of the depth of an object.
