DPS Outreach by Students

In the month of September 2016, some students of Grade 7 and 8 decided to help DPS Chhatarpur’s support staff by

providing them the information of various government policies and also helped them to manage their day to day life. The students informed them about various government policies i.e. Laadli Lakshmi Yojna, No Frill Account Services, Sukanya Yojna by Post Office etc. In the latter half of the program the students also visited their homes and educated them about proper health and hygiene. In the end, students gave their support staff the basic knowledge of computers. It was a very nice experience for me and I will be delighted to do it again. Shrey Agrawal–7B

A Little GirlGod hasn’t yet made lines on my handsAnd you have announced that I can not stand.Don’t you worry about my school or my looksI’ll care for myself and study with brother’s books.Don’t have tension for my dowryI’ll live with you and will not marry.Girls are as precious as goldThey are confident, active and bold.Girls are making a mark every dayThis is all I have to say.I don’t have anything else to talkYou take rest or go for a walk.

The Three FriendsOnce there were 3 best friends, Lio the leopard, Bisty the bear and Desky the deer. One day, all of them decided to go to the jungle for a picnic. So at night, they quietly packed their bags with toys, books and snacks. They decided to go on the picnic without telling their parents. So in the morning with their bags they left for their jungle trip. When they reached the picnic spot they saw a lion approaching them with a tiger. They all got very scared. The lion and the tiger both wanted to eat them. As a result, they both started fighting with each other. While they were fighting all the three friends ran away from there to save their life. And when the lion and the tiger were done fighting, they realized that they were gone. At last the three friends decided that they should never go out alone without telling their parents. Importance of FriendshipFriendship is important because it helps us overcome difficult times very easily. It is very important to make friends. There are two types of friends- Best friend and Good friend. Best friends are those who help us in our work always and good friends are those who help us in our work sometimes. My best friends always help me in my studies and they always share their food with me. They never keep a secret from me and they share all their happiness and sadness with me. All my other classmates are my good friends. A good friend never leaves you alone in difficult times and a best friend never breaks his promise and friendship. Rishiraj Gupta–3B

How to Celebrate Green Diwali• Bursting crackers is not a good idea because it leads to many kinds of pollution

such as air, water and noise pollution.• Cracker factories compel small children to work in their factories which is

very hazardous for them.• Bursting of crackers can be very harmful for small children because they can

get burnt.• Domestic animals during Diwali get very scared due to the noise pollution.

Some pets even lose their ability to hear.• We should buy diyas, candles and sweets for the poor children and help them

to decorate their homes and bring a smile on their face.• We can make beautiful Rangoli and decorate our house with flowers and diyas.

Science MelaInspired, encouraged and motivated by the parents and the teachers, the budding scientists of DPS Chhatarpur gathered in various teams with great enthusiasm and excitement and prepared different models and experiments for the Science Mela organised in school on August 30, 2016. The exhibition started by 09:00 am and finished by 01:30 pm. Class I and II also made some very interesting models. The students were very excited and happy to be a part of the Mela. I made a model of a Motor Car with my group. The parents were very happy to see the models. There were different models like Water Cycle, Conductors and Insulators, Motor Boat, Vacuum Cleaner etc. Students also briefed their models to the audience. Principal Ma’am appreciated our work and we felt very happy. It was a very nice and memorable experience for everyone. Aarnik Khanna Shakyawar–6B

Assessments

Assessments play a very important role in a student’s life. From assessments the teachers will know if the student has been able to grasp the concept which has been taught. It also helps to check on the concepts the student has to improve. It also enables the teacher to know if the method of teaching is appropriate or not. Everyone needs assessments because it directs personalities by creating interest. It is the best way to know how we are pacing with our lives.

Secret of Learning Maths

Are you afraid of Maths? If yes, then I have the solution to your problem. This solution is known by the name MINDSPARK. Mindspark is a program that teaches Maths by fun. It has helped me a lot and I am sure that it will help you also to understand the relation of Maths with the real world. It also gives us the chance to gain National Level Popularity by awarding National Sparkie Champion every week. I have been the National Sparkie Champion five times till now. Movie Review: Jungle Book

On October 03, 2016 we saw a movie “Jungle Book” in our school. It was a very nice movie. In this movie there was a boy named Mowgli who could understand the language of animals. He lived in the jungle with his animal friends. All the animals liked Mowgli a lot, but the lion Sher Khan did not like Mowgli at all. He wanted to kill Mowgli. So he played many tricks in the whole movie. In the end, Mowgli killed the lion Sher Khan and saved the other animals from him. Anushka Soni–3C
