THE FIVE SENSES

Mrs.WhitmoreCCSD Standard-(3)2.2 use and identify five senses, matching the appropriate body part to each sense

WHAT ARE SENSES?

The way the body experiences the world around you.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Your brain is inside your head, so it needs help to find out what is going on outside!

It’s so dark!

SO WHAT ARE YOUR SENSES?You have 5 senses!

They are Hearing, Touch, Smell, Taste, and Sight.

SENSE OF HEARINGThis enables us to perceive sound. The sense of hearing is made possible because of our ears!

SENSE OF TOUCH This sense makes it possible for us to feel things. We can feel with any body part, but the most sensitive place to feel touch is in our hands.

SENSE OF SMELLThis sense enables us to experience dirty socks or apple pie! We smell with our nose.

SENSE OF TASTEThis sense is how we can tell if something is sweet or sour. We do this with our tongue.

SENSE OF SIGHTThis sense makes it so we can see. We use our eyes to see.

REVIEW All these parts work
