The Fluxxe Collective is a creative catalyst and development consultancy working with individuals looking to secure work within the creative industry. The focus of the consultancy is to enhance the showcasing of work for creatives, such as photographers, makeup artists and stylists, to achieve a high specification compendium of portfolio outputs.

Previous research indicates that professionals place a large amount of judgment on layout and presentation, yet creatives admit to being inexperienced in this field. Both conventional and innovative methods of presentation have been explored to ensure that the consultancy will deliver a strong range of showcasing product. The consultancy will enable individuals to platform their work on an international basis through the formation of personal websites and films, as well as utilising social media technology.

Each client will have a personal branding style developed by the consultancy. This branded style will be separate from that of The Fluxxe Collective and will shadow through a networking kit, consisting of business cards and a portfolio pamphlet. To ensure that the client has the strongest chance of obtaining future work, their professional networking style and personal manner will be enhanced through one to one development sessions.

All avenues of PR, marketing and promotion have been investigated to place The Fluxxe Collective within the appropriate arenas to guarantee a high quality first cohort of clients.

The Fluxxe Collective will complete a full range of services and products for Client A. This prototype form will ensure that all sectors of the consultancy are flawless before future clients join. The collection crafted for Client A will also act as an exemplar that can be shown to any interested parties.

The branding of The Fluxxe Collective will be a strong portrayal of a clinic and surgery. The consultancy develops the client and helps them showcase their work clearly and succinctly, so the branding must conceptually render this, as shown within this document.

Net Dreams are a professional branding and web design agency that will be used to create the graphic identity of The Fluxxe Collective. For £8000.00 + VAT, Net Dreams will create a logo and an entire visual style for the consultancy, as well as a fully interactive website, as detailed in the Online Presence section.

2.2 BRAND IDENTITY ANDGRAPHIC DESIGN

Previous research has shown that there is a need in the UK marketplace for a creative development consultancy, which develops younger and less experienced creatives for professional employment. The Fluxxe Collective will be London based but the target market is not limited to the capital city, but nationwide. The Fluxxe Collective aims to reach the European market within 3 years of opening.

2.3 STAFFStaff will be dressed in a minimal clinical uniform, which consists of white coat, in the style of a laboratory jacket, and a fob watch. Consultancy staff will be referred to as Consultants and Doctors, and will each have a specific role when consulting and developing the client. There will be between 4 to 6 staff as the consultancy launches, looking to expand as more clients join.

2.4 PREMISESThe Fluxxe Collective will have an office based in Central London so that clients, staff and collaborators have a physical head quarters. The Premises will feature a reception area, a pharmacy/directory, a consultation room and a larger studio room. All rooms will be clinical with bright lights, white space, eye charts, medicine bottles and surgery related artwork to create a sterile environment.

The consultancy room will be used to have individual progress meetings with clients, as well as briefings.

The studio room will be the hub for all staff members to work and will be a hive of creative development. The studio will house Mac computers with the full Adobe suite, Microsoft office suite and Final Cut Pro. Each computer with the full range of software will cost approximately £2300.00. There will be four computers with these capabilities for staff to work on, totaling approximately £9200.00.

The pharmacy will house the compendium of work developed, where each client will have a showcasing space. The pharmacy will primarily be used as an archive, but can also be used to reference examples of work to industry professionals and prospective clients.

Area sq is a creative office interior design agency that will renovate the interior space to be fully branded and interactive for both staff and clients. The cost of an interior space with the above specifications will cost around £15000.00 for an area of 2000 sq/ft.

Enquiries with Office Broker have shown that for a 2000sq/ft office in the Soho area of London, the approximate rent would be around £164000.00 per annum. This figure is based on the average price of £82 per sq/ft, per annum, for a high quality private office space in Soho.

The Fluxxe Collective will need a public relations strategy to be able to entice clients as well as build relationships with the media. PR development will also ensure that the consultancy is placed as a leader in innovation and professional development amongst creative individuals.

Frank PR assist with entrepreneurial start up within a specifically allocated division, which has been selected to represent The Fluxxe Collective. This program and agency was selected because of its evidence of success, with many accomplished service based businesses subscribing to the packages.

The package chosen is FED LEVEL 3 – Retained PR Support and will cost £5000 per month. Within this agreement, Frank PR will provide: - Initial PR consultation with FED director to assess your strategic PR requirements.- Development and activation of one year launch plan.- Creation of bespoke media materials (Press Releases/Media Lists/Distribution Strategies/etc.)- Weekly status reporting. - Monthly health check discussion with FED director to assess success and offer advice. - Crisis management contact and support.- Online monitoring and response through social media, forums and other communications outlets.- Monthly campaign reporting and evaluation.

This package will allow The Fluxxe Collective to focus on current client relationships and the development process, whilst ensuring that communications with the media and public are coherent and effective, building a stronger brand and consultancy. The monthly contract will also ensure that the PR for the consultancy is able to expand and change as the needs of The Fluxxe Collective change, without restriction.

3.2 Online AdvertisingThe Fluxxe Collective will utilise advertising opportunities to reach the first range of clients. Digital adverts will be displayed across creative networking sites as well as creative recruitment websites. These arenas are specifically aimed towards the target market of the consultancy, so an effective and informative advert should entice individuals.

A 160 x 600 pixel personalized advert will be displayed on www.ModelMayhem.com and will cost $2000.00 (£1339.23) for 400,000 views. This advert will be geo-targeted and shown to members in the United Kingdom, with 250,000 views aimed around London.

The consultancy will also display adverts online at FreelanceUK.com to entice freelance creatives. For a small ad that will be broadcast to all members for 1 week, the cost is roughly £1600.00.

Other online arena’s including FashionUnited.co.uk, uk.fashionjobs.com, fashionmonitor.com and PRWeek.com will also be contacted regarding online advertising. The Fluxxe Collective will also look to become a partner of Arts Thread and various educational institutions once the first full range of outputs has been created.

3.3 networking and eventsThe consultancy will attend networking events, allowing The Fluxxe Collective to engage with individuals and give them personal examples of what could be created. Presentation pitches will be cleverly branded to parallel the style of the consultancy and draw clients. Glug Events, Reason to be Creative and London Design Festival are initial events that The Fluxxe Collective will attend.

The various forms of online tools will allow the consultancy to engage with clients and future consumers, to build a strong brand identity and to showcase work. Every relevant form of online media has been investigated and the implements that will enhance the consultancy will be employed.

The Domain will be purchased from Fast Hosts because of it’s low cost of £5.99 per year + VAT. Hosting will be from Wix.com as this enables the website to have a diverse range of design capabilities, 2.5GB bandwidth and up to 20 live email accounts. The price of this premium package hosting will cost $14.90 per month (Roughly £9.98) and includes a 24/7 support line for any technical issues.

4.1 Domain and hosting

The design of the website for The Fluxxe Collective will be minimal. A simple about us page will be created, as well as a services and contact page. The Fluxxe Collective website’s main purpose will be to house the online compendium of client’s portfolios in the online Pharmacy. Each client’s digital work will be showcased in an interactive portal. The website’s graphics will be clinical and sanitary to ensure the essence of the brand is conveyed at every level.

Net Dreams offer an interactive and user orientated web design which the consultancy will use. For a fully tailored and branded digital site, Net Dreams would charge £8000.00 + VAT. This price would include the creation of a logo and complete brand identity, complex animated features and an expandable interactive portfolio gallery. Net Dreams also offer a high quality website management program that would develop and maintain the site regularly, as well as maintain a strong SEO presence.

The online pharmacy will be a complex directory of client’s work. The work will be categorized by specialism, style and will also be tiered by quality. The pharmacy will be fully interactive with photography and video being displayed. Each client’s online portfolio will house a succinct CV alongside their creative work, and will also link to their personal websites. The Directory will be updated weekly to ensure that the creatives are showcased as fully as possible and will become a creative personnel interchange for collaborators and recruiters.

4.3 Directory/Pharmacy

Utilising all social media outlets will mean a much stronger connection between the consultancy, public and media. The social media will be able to give The Fluxxe Collective a voice and mean that the overall style of the brand is enhanced.

Facebook will be used to showcase the work of the client’s that are working with the consultancy. Using Client A as an initial example, small extracts of photography and video will be promoted by the page before the final portfolio is released to maximize the anticipation for each the work.

Twitter will be used as a more conversational tool where the consultancy can engage with individuals directly. The relaxed style of conversation engaged on Twitter will enable the catalyst to keep its followers updated on what’s happening more regularly.

Instagram will be used to give a behind the scenes coverage of the consultancy and give followers an insight into the inner workings of what The Fluxxe Collective does. Images will be posted of photo shoots and general day-to-day observations so the followers can feel more connected to the consultancy.

Tumblr and Pinterest will be created to form a visual talk point. Materials will be re-blogged in the style of mood boards that will help solidify brand identity. For example, particular photography or styling that the consultancy likes will be posted to its followers.

All social media will be designed, managed and maintained by an in-house team at The Fluxxe Collective. The content that will be posted will be very personal and from behind the scenes, so it would be inefficient to employ an agency to communicate. However, as mentioned under the PR section, Frank PR will deal with crisis management and formal communications from all social media outlets.

The Fluxxe Collective will build an app for smart phones which will house basic contact information, social media links and a newsfeed. The app will also showcase a simple portfolio of each client with a small selection of work. Each client’s profile on the app will have a link to the main site with their work housed, so that the two online portals are interconnected.

The app will be built by Apadmi, who specialize in the creation of interactive information interchange apps. The cost of the app will be approximately £1800.00 + VAT, which includes basic training of app management enabling The Fluxxe Collective staff to maintain the outlet.

The Fluxxe Collective will offer a full range of development and production services for each client. In order to accommodate clients at different stages in their career, a series of packages will be offered to choose from. An initial package will have a fully branded networking kit. The client can upgrade the package to include a printed portfolio, online presence development and a personal advertisement film of their work. Each client can also choose whether or not to exploit the consultancies production services to receive professional collaboration and guidance outside of their specialism to achieve a higher quality of work, at an additional cost. The names of packages offered are shown below and can be prescribed in group or as individual services. A list of what each package entails and approximate costs can be found on the costings page.

The full range of services will be completed for Client A. The work produced for Client A will act as a prototype and will allow the consultancy to demonstrate it’s services before seeking it’s first set of clients.

The Fluxxe Collective will develop a personal brand style for every client that joins the consultancy. The client will closely liaise with the consultancy staff to ensure a fully stylized and content aware graphic identity is created, which will be shadowed through all outputs created. In-house Mac and Adobe software will be used to create a flawless brand identity.

NETWORKING KIT

6.1 PERSONAL BRANDING

Each client will receive a fully branded set of business cards that can be given at networking events.

The London Print Company will produce a set of 250 Luxury Business cards, printed in colour and double sided on 400gsm laminated silk for £40.00 + VAT. This will act as a standard guide but the price will vary for each client based on their personal design specifications.

6.2 BUSINESS CARDS

A potential collaborator or employer who wants to see work will not always have Internet access straight so it is essential to carry something that can be shown. A portfolio pamphlet will act as a memorable sampler of work that can be given to relevant professionals.

The London Print Company will produce a set of 50 Luxury 8 double page A5 pamphlets, full digital colour on 300gsm folded and stitched Mondi for £150.00 + VAT. Each design will be different, so this pricing is an estimate and will vary for every client.

A production service is an additional package available to The Fluxxe Collective clients. The service enables the creatives to collaborate with experienced professionals to create the highest quality work with the best available apparatus and software. Clients will be able to collaborate with one another to save on the costs listed below.

A professional production crew from the consultancy will be present at every shoot with the client and the collaborators. The Fluxxe Collective production crew will project manage every shoot, as well as determine shoot concept.

Experienced photographers vary dramatically in cost. Blood & Co artist management represent a series of luxury fashion photographers ranging in cost from £800.00 to £10000.00 for a days work (up to 8 hours.) Jamie Nelson, who is represented by Blood & Co charges £1000.00 for up to 8 hours, and will be commissioned by The Fluxxe Collective to photograph a range of client’s work per day.

7.2 PHOTOGRAPHY

Blood & Co will supply the film director for clients work to be shot. Gabriel Gettman is an experienced videographer who will be paid £1000.00 per day and will supply his own film equipment and any additional crew within this cost.

Every location charges a different rate depending on the style of photography to be executed, where the images will be displayed and where the actual location is.

Lumiere Studios is a fully professional photographic studio based in London and charge £370.00 per day (up to 8 hours) to rent the studio. This price includes:- Full access to studio 1 (1400 sq. ft.)- Private changing room.- Toilets and kitchen facilities.- Wireless Internet access.- Full set of studio rigging and lighting including umbrellas, softboxes and reflectors.- Paper and vinyl backdrops.- Apple Mac Pro with 24” cinema display and full Adobe suite.

A fully qualified studio technician and assistant is available to help at £100.00 per day (up to 8 hours.)

Lumiere Studios also rent out photographic equipment for studio and on location shoots. Prices and equipment is listed below.- Canon 5D Mk II 21.1 megapixel camera at £100.00 per day.- Bowens Gemini 40 kit at £40.00 per day.- Bowens Travelpak battery pack at £35.00 per day.- A wide range of lenses are available from £10.00 to £60.00 per day.

The Fluxxe Collective clients will be given the opportunity to work with professional fashion models to ensure their work is portrayed in the highest quality.

Elite Model Management do not charge to work with their ‘New Faces’ models, as long as the photographer and production team are high quality and professional. If the images are to have an editorial output or be seen by media and press, then they will charge £150.00 per model per day (up to 8 hours) for models in their new faces range.

7.5 MODELS

Hair and Makeup are essential in creating a high quality image to add to a portfolio. To ensure clients of The Fluxxe Collective have a fully rounded and flawless set of images, freelance hair and makeup artists will be employed.

Yelena Konnova is a freelance hair stylist and makeup artist based in London who charges £250.00 per day (up to 8 hours) for her services.

The Fluxxe Collective recognizes that style and quality of clothing are essential to creating a powerful fashion image.

Lucy Ansa-Addo is a freelance wardrobe stylist and charges a rate of £200.00 per day (up to 8 hours). All creative direction and clothing for shoots is discussed in advanced and sourced by the stylist prior to the shoot.

Each original image will be enhanced to create a flawless piece to add to the client’s portfolio compendium. Digital Light Ltd is a professional fashion image retouching company based in London and has a large portfolio of digitally enhanced images. On the basis of general retouching, from lighting and colour enhancing, Digital Light Ltd will charge £150.00 per image.

An in-house team of designers will complete the design and layout of the publication portfolios. The Fluxxe Collective will put focus on the quality of design and layout to ensure that the work of the client is effectively and powerfully portrayed. The Fluxxe Collective will use the full Adobe suite and Mac software, priced in the premises section.

GF Smith will supply printing materials and paper sample swatches for the clients to use. GF Smith will send the material samples free of charge and the cost of paper will be varied depending on the amount, type and stock. Each publication will have around 50 spreads on 100 pages and be slightly smaller than A4 in size. GF Smiths price for 200 sheets of Beckett Expression Candlelight 118gsm is £46.98 + VAT, which will create around 3 high quality publications.

The London Printing Company will print the portfolios to a high specification with digital printing. The portfolio’s will be bound in professional personally branded folders that will be able to be updated easily. The cost for the printing and binding of 3 X 100 page A4 portfolios is £154.00 + VAT, but will vary for every client.

The client will be given two of the portfolios to keep and distribute as they please. The Fluxxe Collective will keep the remaining portfolio on file in the Pharmacy at the Clinic so that industry professionals or collaborators who visit the consultancy can view it.

The client’s website will be designed in a similar way to The Fluxxe Collective’s in terms of structure and capabilities. A gallery section will be created for their work, as well as an about and contact section. The clients website will be registered as their own name or brand, and as ‘.com’ to entice international readership.

The website will be constructed by Web Creation UK and will cost £595.00 + VAT. The website created for the client will be showcased on The Fluxxe Collective’s website and social media. An email sent to industry professionals and future clients by Frank PR will also feature samples of the client’s work and their website details to boost the initial launch of the online portfolio.

9.2 DISTRIBUTION

The Fluxxe Collective will create a Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr account for the client to ensure maximum coverage of work. The social media will house the client’s collection of work, and will enable the clients to personally interact with collaborators and the public.

ADVERT / FILM

The film will be produced by an in-house team of editors using advanced Apple Mac and Final Cut Pro software. Using clips from pre-produced film and photography, the work will be edited incorporating motion, sound and personal branding to execute a film that represents the client and their working style. The film will be between 2 and 5 minutes long and will showcase a complete range of work.
