Hello Everyone!
Summer has finally arrived! Here, we celebrated with wacky New
Hampshire laws and trivia, singing songs about our great state, and
roasting our own marshmallows for s’mores, as well as our Live Free (and
eat ice cream first!) Ride in which residents went out for ice cream before
lunch! You may even notice on a windy day, that we flew a brand new
state flag outside on the flag poles.
Our Motorcycle Memory Ride to help end Alzheimer’s Disease proved to
be quite a success! It was a beautiful day, and I thank everyone that
participated and helped our cause. We were able to raise $300, but more
importantly, we saw so many smiles on so many of our residents’ faces!
Quite a few even decided to scare their kids with temporary tattoos, and
many came out for our pancake breakfast and Bike Week BBQ, where we
grilled burgers roadside and waved to the bikers passing by.
We also celebrated National Licensed Nursing Assistant and Caregiver
Week with lots of fun! Dress Like a Biker Day, the Forestview Haüs make
your own sundae bar, rootbeer floats, a dress down day, caregiver
survival kits, and more. Little things to let our amazing team of serving
hearts know that we truly do appreciate them, and everything they do for
our wonderful residents around the clock, literally.
I hope see you at some of our upcoming summer events! If you are
interested in receiving a copy of our activities calendars by email, please
let our concierge staff know, and we will add you to the mailing list! We
also have copies available in each of the buildings when you stop by!
Happy Summer!

Serving Heart of the Month Michael Franklyn, Housekeeper
Michael joined the Forestview Family in
November of 2014. Since then, Michael has
worked hard to continue improving the quality
of our community. Most recently, he completed
some big projects including sanding down the
Manor 2 hand railings, and touching up the
patio furniture. Michael’s work ethic is always
improving, and we look forward to watching
him continue to grow in his work.
Thank you, Michael, for all of your hard work,
every day!

From the Nurses’ Office:
In my search for a new podiatrist, we have also been asked by several families about an eye
doctor, or ophthalmologist, that might be willing to come to Forestview Manor to assist with our
residents’ eye and vision needs. They would help adjust, repair and prescribe new glasses and
even perform eye exams on sight! The company we are trying to use must know how many
families would be interested in this service for their loved ones. If you are interested in this,
please notify a nurse if you would or would not so that we have a better idea of the interest and
could move forward with providing that service at Forestview Manor.
As another update, our dental services at Forestview Manor will unfortunately be coming to a
close. The company we have been using has recently merged with another company which will
result in them being unable to come to Forestview Manor. While we will continue our search of a
replacement for this service, we can suggest local dentists if your loved one needs to be seen for
any oral issues. Please a see a nurse for more information!
Thank you!
Heather Quinn
Director of Nursing

From the Activities Department:
Sometimes family members will come to me with questions about what to get their loved ones
for birthdays, other special holidays, or even just simply for an “I love you” care package. While
this does depend greatly on the individual, I have some general suggestions to plant the idea
seeds:
Are they a bird lover? Maybe a bird feeder for outside their window, or in the courtyard for
them to tend to or watch. Do they enjoy music, or listening to stories on the radio? Maybe a CD
player and some CD’s for their room. Do they enjoy painting or coloring? Perhaps some art
supplies or adult coloring books. Maybe they have too many clothes (like me), but love to read?
Perhaps a magazine or newspaper subscription!
Please feel free to contact us anytime if you have questions, we love to help think of creative
ideas! This was just a jumping off point!
