This is a great opportunity to raise valuable funds for school and to start
getting into the Christmas spirit.

Secret Room Friday 2nd December
Christmas will soon be upon us! Aggghh! And we need volunteers!
The Secret Room event is just a week away so please can we ask you to start bringing in a few things that can be recycled into great presents. It
may be things that you or your family have been given in the past and not used. It may be things that you just have that no longer use.
All sorts of things are welcome!
Some ideas include: Soap’s, Necklaces, Men’s smelly’s, and men’s toys/
tools, pretty jars, ornaments, puzzles, kids toys Etc. Really anything that
you think would be a nice addition to Secret Room.
We have placed a box in the Main office for items to be left in.
We need volunteers on Friday 2nd
Dec after morning drop off until about
11am to help sort donated items.
We will have our traditional wrapping evening on Tuesday 29th at 8pm at
Elizabeth Newson's house (Rectory Oaks, Plymtree)

If you are part of the Choir
singing at the Christmas Market in Cullompton on
Saturday please meet Mrs. Cutler outside Barclays Bank at 10.45am, ready to sing in
the market at 11.00am.
School jumpers with Christmas accessories please.
Thank you to the ten children who signed up to
an extra basketball session on Tuesday after school. It was cold and far too slippy and dangerous to play a proper game, but everyone
gave their all to the drills and theory session and showed huge commitment! You are all
stars! Mrs C!
Thank you to Miss Reid for accompanying our athletics team to the sports hall athletics
competition on Wednesday. The team were focused and positive when I dropped them off. Thank you so much too Jane and Suki for driving to the event.
Year 4, 5 and 6 Athletics.
A selection of years 4, 5, and 6 participated as a team of 12 at the Cullompton Sports Centre yesterday. This was an athletics event involving a
range of stations such as, throwing the vortex, indoor sprint, indoor relay race, chest throw, standing long jump, skipping and speed
bounce. Competitors got an individual time or measurement in each event and these were also accumulated for an overall team score.
Plymtree were one of 5 schools present at the event. The children were a credit to the school as they all competed really well and tried their best. They supported each other well and everyone enjoyed the experience.
Unfortunately, the individual scores and overall team scores had not been processed by the
end of the event so we are still awaiting the results. Thank you to the parents that helped out with lifts and offered their support.
Don't forget that Friday is Christmas Jumper Day. Children are invited to wear Christmas and jumpers and if possible to bring in a jar of sweets
for the Christmas disco. (Monday is fine too!)
I cannot express how brilliant the performance of Guys and Dolls was at Exeter School; it was incredibly well polished,
well rehearsed, energetic and engaging. I would recommend it to everyone! It was a long time to sit still but the children
were brilliant and really positive about the experience Pine trip to Guys and Dolls at Exeter Secondary School!!! Pine class were invited to Exeter school to see a phenomenal performance called “Guys and Dolls". The Guys just wanted to gamble and the Dolls wanted to get married and have children. We all enjoyed this performance immensely; the songs, the costumes, the jokes etc... The play was set in New York City. The Guys wore suits and tuxedos whereas the dolls wore lots of glitter and gowns. The play was exquisite the drama was so dramatic. The Guys and Dolls
were just brilliant. It was a great day for everyone.MY FAVOURITE PART WAS... when one guy did a backflip and the lady Sarah (one of the missionaries) got a little bit drunk and totally regretted it afterwards! The whole thing was a blast to watch and we could tell that the actors and actresses had worked immensely hard and put a lot of effort into the production.The songs were awesome and the lyrics, music and acting was just out of this world and the only thing that they could improve was nothing! Pine trip to Guys and Dolls play at Exeter Secondary Pine class visited Exeter Secondary School to see an amazing play called Guys and Dolls. The thrilling play featured Guys who just wanted to play a game called ‘craps`. I thought this was a swear word, but they assured us that it was just the name of the game. The Dolls were actually girls who wanted to get married. The whole play was set in New York City and the Guys all wore suits and Fedoras and spoke really weirdly (American). The play was a musical and was full of brilliant songs and drama. The Guys were gamblers and some of the Dolls who were part of a ‘missionary’ (which was a lady’s holy place) disagreed with the gamblers and called them sinners.My favourite part was all of the songs because they all had really good dance routines and lyrics. I also liked the part when a Doll called Sarah (who was a part of the mission) got really drunk and then was really ashamed of herself afterwards! It was a great day and I really enjoyed it I hope all my friends did too. Thank you to Mrs. Cutler and all the staff who arranged the wonderful trip. WRITTEN BY AMELIA
Pine class’ trip to Guys and Dolls Pine class went to Exeter secondary school to see an awesome play called Guys and Dolls . The dolls were not actually dolls they were real ladies. My favourite part was when somebody in the play did a back flip! My favourite character was Big Jule because he had an epic hat! By Conrad
Pine class’ trip to Guys and Dolls Pine class went to Exeter school to watch a play called Guys
and Dolls. The play was about men, who were gamblers, and dolls (girls), how they fall in love, fall
out with each other and how they live together. There were lots of songs and dances in it and the
girls did lots of dances at The Hot Box. A man opened The Hot Box by saying what it is, and the
Dolls did a fun dance and sometimes sing. My favourite part was when Nathan found out that
Adelaide had told her Mum that they had five children and they were married. My two favourite
characters are Adelaide and Sarah. By Hattie

You may have heard recently that a number of children have been absent from Kentisbeare Primary School with a sickness bug.
Although we have not yet been affected here at Plymtree, we would like to remind parents by providing you with a guide to the Norovirus should your child become ill. We would request that children are kept away from school for 48 hours from the last time they were ill to prevent any bugs spreading to other children or staff. If you child is absent from school we would be grateful if you would inform the school office as early as possible please.

As some of you know Scrooge the musical is happening in Kenistbeare Dec 6th until 10th of December. Quite a number of Plymtree folk are in the cast…. Fiona Shere and her girls, Amelia French, Maya Carpenter, Egan Ryder and Jess Fry to name a few. We are seeking help with Props for the show, if anyone can help out and lend us one or more of the following items ASAP or from the 3rd of December until the 11th would be very, very grateful.

Lunchtime Clubs
Ms. Bussell will be running a lunchtime Golden Mile Running Club every Thursday, open to all year groups. If your child would like to take part please ensure they have their full ‘running kit’ in school each week. Please
note that this Club will be held at the playing field, therefore, children are likely to get ‘muddy’. It would
be helpful if children had a carrier bag with them too in order to take muddy kit home!
Mrs. Batten now has a puzzle suitable for Oak class children. There will be 6 places available to Oak
children, please sign up if you wish to take part in Puzzle Club.
Mrs. Nichols will be returning to run Story Club each Friday lunchtime until the 2nd December. This club is
open to all year groups.

Breakfast Club is also available every day from 8.00am; £2.50 per child.
