Tamron Hall has exited NBCNews after the network disclosedplans to cancel her 9 a.m. ET/PThour of the Today Show to makeroom for Megyn Kelly.

Hall, a 10-year veteran of thenetwork who has appeared on To-day since 2014, already has leftwithout a goodbye: Her last dayanchoring on Today and MSNBCwas Tuesday, and her contract ex-pires this month.

In a statement, the networkcalled her “an exceptional jour-nalist,” and said it entered talks torenew her contract. “We hoped

that she would decide to stay. Weare disappointed that she haschosen to leave, but we wish herall the best.”

But Hall’s departure may havebeen foreshadowed by the deci-sion to give Kelly, hired from FoxNews in January, a morning hourthis fall.

That meant the certain demiseof the hourlong block that Hallhosted with Al Roker, who will re-main co-host until Kelly’s showarrives.

In her statement released byNBC, Hall said “the last 10 yearshave been beyond anything Icould have imagined, and I’mgrateful. I’m also very excitedabout the next chapter. To all mygreat colleagues, I will miss youand I will be rooting for you.”
