you have Advisory Group period every day.

The reason for doing this is to have better

relationships with your advisory group

teacher and their job is to support you and

guide you to make better choices and deci-

sions. So far, I’m seeing wonderful things

happen during Advisory Group period such

as learning about PowerSchool, and setting

up TSD email addresses for you.

Getting a TSD email address is a privilege

That is the theme we have been using

since the first week of school. It’s hard to

believe that it has been more than three

weeks already into school. So far, we are

having a good start this month as you are

now busy juggling many things- classes

and after school activities. I would like

to share that we welcomed 30 9th graders

and over 13 new students and we are still

getting new students. When you see a

new student, be sure to give him or her a

Ranger welcome!

As you can see, we have made some

changes to make the best out of your

learning experience here. We changed the

name from Homeroom teachers to

Advisory Group teachers and this year

Reach New Heights & Be the Difference!

that will be used for school purposes only- sending emails to your teachers about home-

work assignments or contacting your counselor to make an appointment. We hope that

you will make good use of it this year.

Another thing I am excited about is the HS/CTE Catalog. You recently worked with your

Advisory Group on learning more about

the HS/CTE Catalog. We wanted to print

something for you and your

parents/guardians to use to make

informed decisions about your HS

classes and future planning. We hope

that you will use it often to learn more

about what you can do for your future.

I’m sure you all are looking forward to

Spirit Week next week. It’s going to be a

fun-filled week and don’t forget to manage your time wisely with finishing homework

assignments on time and showing up for Homecoming events. Be sure to show your

spirit and Ranger pride!

Lastly, remember this year’s theme- Be the difference. What you do and say affects the

rest of the school so treat others just like what you would like for others to treat you. Re-

member, together, we can reach new heights and be the difference!

Student Development is excited to reach new heights with TSD students this year! Our students will see more activities going on at Deaf Smith Center (DSC). We are also open everyday for students to socialize. We have cool student workers to run DSC every night. We very excited and working with the students to get ready for Homecoming Spirit Week! We will have Homecoming Dance on Saturday after HC Football game! TSD students are in for special treats! We will have great hands on activities, educational workshops and loads of games for students to enjoy. Our goal for 2011-2012 school year is to have Deaf Smith Center to be everyone’s second home as cozy place for students to relax, play games, do homework and socialize. Together we shall REACH NEW HEIGHTS!!! We wish you all a great year at TSD!
