• Make half-square triangle units. 1. Select 2 each; Fabric 1 and Fabric 3 squares, 2⅞” x 2⅞”. Make 4 half-square

triangle units, total. Set aside.

2. Select 4 each, Fabric 2 and Fabric 3 squares, 2⅞” x 2⅞”. Make 8 units, total. Set aside.


• Make quarter-square triangle units (2-color). Select 8 each; Fabric 2 and Fabric 6 squares, 3¼” x 3¼”. Make 16 quarter-square triangle units, total. Set aside.

• Make quarter-square triangle units (4-color). Select 2 each, 3¼” x 3¼”; Fabric 2 and Fabric 6 (pair together), and Fabric 1 and Fabric 3 (pair together). Paying close attention to orientation, make 4 of each orientation for 8 units, total. Set aside.

Block Assembly Assemble your blocks, label them, and set aside.

Set aside.

• Make quarter-square triangle units (2-color). Select 8 each; Fabric 2 and Fabric 6 squares, 3¼” x 3¼”. Make 16, total. Set aside.

• Make quarter-square triangle units (4-color).

Select 1 each, 3¼” x 3¼”; Fabric 1 and Fabric 3 (pair together), and Fabric 2 and Fabric 6 squares (pair together). Paying close attention to orientation, make 4 of each orientation for 8 units, total. Set aside.

• Make 3-triangle units.

1. Select 4 Fabric 3 squares, 2⅞” x 2⅞” and cut in half diagonally; set aside.

2. Select 2 each; Fabric 2 and Fabric 6 square, 3¼” x 3¼”. Make 8 pieced triangle units, total.

3. Pair each pieced triangle unit with a Fabric 3 triangle and sew together to make 4 of each color pairing for 8 units, total.

• Make 3-triangle units.

1. Select 4 Fabric 3 squares, 2⅞” x 2⅞” and cut in half diagonally; set aside.

2. Select 1 each; Fabric 2 and Fabric 6 square, 3¼” x 3¼”. Make 8 pieced triangle units, total.

3. Pair each pieced triangle unit with a Fabric 3 triangle and sew together to make 4 of each color pairing, total.

Block Assembly Assemble your blocks, label them, and set aside. Quilt Top Assembly Referring to Queen Assembly Diagram, lay your blocks out on a design wall or open space that will accommodate them. Pay close attention to orientation of your blocks, by referring to the Quilt Top Assembly Diagram. Tip: take a photo of your quilt top before you sew the blocks together. This helps to detect any mistakes before you begin sewing your blocks together. Once satisfied with your block lay-out, sew your rows of blocks together and press the seams of each row in opposing directions. Sew rows together to complete your pieced center and press seams toward the top of your quilt. Piece together 6 of your Fabric 9 strips, 1½” x WOF, end-to-end to make one long strip. From this length, cut 2 strips, 60½” x 1½” and sew to each side of your quilt top. In the same manner, cut 2 strips, 42½” x 1½” and sew to the top and bottom of your quilt top. Next, add Fabric 8 strips 62½” x 12½” to each side of your quilt top. Then add Fabric 8 strips, 86½” x 12½” to the top and bottom of your quilt top. Finally, sew together your remaining Fabric 9 strips to make one long strip. From this, cut 2 strips, 86½” x 1½” to each side of the quilt top. Cut 2 strips, 88½” x 1½” and sew to the top and bottom of your quilt top. Sandwich and baste your quilt top with batting and backing and add 2 ¼” folded binding. Congratulations! Your quilt is finished! Add a quilt label to the back of your quilt with your name and date, and perhaps a thoughtful message if your quilt was made for someone special.
