Discussions

Gail: What is the Holy Spirit? We never talk about it. I just thought it was a comforter but is the Holy Spirit

just as equal as Jesus and God?

Brad: The Holy Spirit led you to ask the question. Being in this class is a blessing.

Jesse: The HS is equal in the Trinity. We are learning that He has a job just like the Father and the Son.

Aeronia: The HS equips us to serve the growing of the Kingdom.

Jesse: Everyone is called to do something. That is why we are learning about what the Spirit does in and through us.

Vince: Some words are not found in the Bible. When you read the commentary there are terms we might not be familiar with, so being here is good to learn where the terms derive from and we are equipped to respond to others.

Aeronia: Look at the homework questions about “Evaluating our gift”. Referred to the Flynn book list on the

various gifts of the Spirit.

Vanessa: Let’s not forget the serving the Kingdom with your gifts are not restricted to the church. Your everyday

walk should reflect the work of the Holy Spirit.

Gail: What is the difference between a fruit and a gift?

Jesse: Read from Galatians 5, and discussed that Fruit of the Spirit is listed in the Sumrall book page 29. Fruits

are the evidence of the Spirit working in you. The HS gives “gifts” for service to the Kingdom.

Gail: How do you know it’s not of the Devil?

Valerie: God is glorified and God is served by the gift. If it is ‘self’, it will glorify the person and no fruit will be

evident.

Joyce: How do you know it is a ‘calling’?

Aeronia: Shared the story of her call to teach. You will know what it is because God will make it known to you by

the people He puts in your life as He prepares you to serve. It is not an overnight process and can take

some time.
