A NEW RELIGION

• In the 1960s a new religion called ENVIRONMENTALISM was born.

• The basic dogma was that humans are destroying the planet.

• Reasons had to be invented to support this dogma

SCAM NO 1

• “Silent Spring” by Rachel Carson 1965.

• “Pesticides” are bad. DDT is banned. Millions died of malaria as a result.

• “Organic” farming was born, putting up the price of food. “Organic” pesticides include arsenic and copper???

SCAM NO 2

• “Limits to Growth” 1972 :

• “World Dynamics” 1971

• “The Population Bomb” 1971

• “Exponential Growth” will lead to collapse at 2050

SCAM NO 3• “Global Warming” 1988. “Caused” by

increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide. Jim Hansen and Charles Keeling

• Tried twice before, and failed• Arrhenius 1895. Temperature fell the next

15 years, followed by a world war and economic crisis

• Callendar 1938. Followed by a fall in temperature 1940-1976, during which there were new “ice age” scares

INSUPERABLE PROBLEMS

• Impossible to measure earth’s average surface temperature, so how can you prove it is warming?

• Impossible to measure greenhouse gases particularly the main one, water vapour.

• Impossible to forecast the weather more than a week or so ahead

• The most reliable surface temperature measurements show no evidence of significant warming for the past 100 years

• Instead many display a periodic behaviour with peaks in around 1950 and today, and troughs in 1890 and 1970

GREENHOUSE GASES SCAM : WATER VAPOUR

• All greenhouse gases show extreme variability in the atmosphere. The scam is to claim they are all “well-mixed” and to suppress evidence to the contrary.

• Water vapour is the principle greenhouse gas, and it is extremely variable, with concentrations between 0-4% There are no past records and concentrations depend on temperature.

• Estimated “averages” • Equator 2.63%• 50ºN 0.92%• 70ºN 0.22%

WATER VAPOUR SCAM

• It is obvious from the map that most water vapour is over the tropics and is close to zero at the poles.

• In order to avoid measuring water vapour and to conceal its uneven distribution it is treated as a “feedback” to warming in the computer models. In this way they can pretend that water vapour is constant and “well-mixed”

CARBON DIOXIDE SCAM

In order to pretend that carbon dioxide is “well-mixed” it is only measured over the sea when it is fairly steady for long periods.

In order to get away with this all other measurements must be suppressed, notably the 40,000 made before 1958 and documented by Beck.

“A common confusion between weather and climate arises when scientists are asked how they can predict climate 50 years from now when they cannot predict the weather a few weeks from now. The chaotic nature of weather makes it unpredictable beyond a few days. Projecting changes in climate (i.e., long-term average weather) due to changes in atmospheric composition or other factors is a very different and much more manageable issue. As an analogy, while it is impossible to predict the age at which any particular man will die, we can say with high confidence that the average age of death for men in industrialised countries is about 75.”

• All climate models depend on the grossly oversimplified assumptions that

• The earth can be considered flat• The surface temperature is constant• The sunlight received is constant• There is no night and day and no seasons• The earth’s energy is “balanced”• The “greenhouse effect” is uniform

• Since models have never been tested they only provide “projections”

• Since models have never been tested, they are “assessed” by “experts” with a conflict of interest

• Levels of “likelihood”, with estimates of “probability” are provided for these “estimates”, which are nothing but the guesses of people with an agenda.

• Since the “globe has not been “warming” for eight years, the term “global warming: has been replaced by “climate change”

• Every local climate event (drought, flood, hurricane, heatwave, receding glaciers) is routinely blamed on “climate change”

• Cold or moderate weather, mild winds advancing glaciers, freezing ice, are ignored.

SEA LEVEL SCAM

• The island of Tuvalu in the Pacific is supposed to be sinking, but measurements disagree. In 1991 an Australian research project installed new tide gauges in 12 Pacific islands, confident they would show a rise. Sixteen years later no rise has been observed, but a depression in 1998 from a hurricane has provided a claimed rise
