WORLDWIDE ACCEPTED INDUSTRY STANDARD FOR gASOLINE & gASOLINE BLENDS TESTINg

• Group Type Analysis per Carbon Number for O-PIONA Samples• Complete Solution with Calculation Reporting, Diagnostic Tool,

Certified QC Samples and Trend Recording • Fully Compliant with ASTM D6839, D5443, EN 14517 and ISO 22854

ThE WORLDWIDE ACCEPTED INDUSTRY STANDARD IN gASOLINE & gASOLINE BLENDS TESTINgAC Analytical Controls pioneered, developed and optimized the AC Reformulyzer® Mark 3 (M3) application, which is used globally by nearly all refineries. The Reformulyzer® M3 analysis is based on a multi-dimensional column switching technique. After sample introduction, a set of columns and traps separates the sample into different hydrocarbon groups. The multi-dimensional technique determines carbon number distribution for (Iso-)Paraffins, Olefins, Naphthenes, Aromatics and Oxygenates. The Reformulyzer® M3 complies with accepted international standard test methods, including: • ASTM D5443, (D6293), D6839• IP 382, (526), 566• UOP 870• ISO 22854

Reports Fuel Specifications EN228 includes the EN ISO 22854 (Multidimensional GC, Reformulyzer) as Referee Method for Hydrocarbon content (Olefins & Aromatics), Benzene, Oxygenates and Oxygen content. It therefore replaces FIA (EN15553) for Hydrocarbon content, EN12177 for Benzene and EN1601 for Oxygenates.

QUALITY CONTROL SAMPLESBesides the gravimetric PIONA standards, AC offers a set of quality control samples that covers most light petroleum streams:

• Reformer feed• Reformate• FCC naphtha• Gasoline containing MTBE

• Oxygenates free gasoline • Gasoline containing Ethanol • Gasoline containing ETBE &

Ethanol

www.paclp.comANALYSIS SIMULATION PROGRAMTRAINING TOOL FOR SELF-ExPLANATORY OPERATION

AC developed the Reformulyzer® M3 Analysis Simulation Program to train users in the multi-dimensional technique, by showing the analysis sequence step-by-step. The program demonstrates sample separation through various columns and traps integrated into the software. Simultaneously the elution pattern can be observed in the chromatogram.

INTEgRATED DIAgNOSTIC TOOL AUTOMATES vALIDATIONAC has developed an integrated diagnostic tool to validate the Reformulyzer® M3’s performance.

After analysis of the QC samples, the diagnostic tool reports validation and statistical data for:• a specific analysis• a series of analyses over a longer

period

The diagnostic tool will automatically mark results outside specification limits. You will find these marked results in the on-screen report. The diagnostic tool also advices on possible causes for components exceeding the limits and reviews data for trend recording.

AC REFORMULYzER® M3 USER gROUPReformulyzer® users can join the AC User Group. AC organizes interactive meetings periodically that allow users to share and exchange technical knowledge. An important part of the user group is the Performance Monitoring Program (PMP), a regular round robin anonymous testing program that helps labs verify their analyzer’s precision. Results are processed anonymously; AC reports the statistical values and offers suggestions for improving precision. The 2010 PMP test consisted of 4 samples: three gasolines, one high olefinic FCC naphtha. One gasoline contained a relative high ethanol concentration, exceeding the current Fuel specifications limits to prepare the analyzer for possible future market developments.
