• Rodger started racing and building race cars just after high

school and worked with Jack Bowsher.

• He served in the US Army from 1968 through 1970

• Rodger has been married to Bev for 31 years and has 4 childern Doug, Carie, Rob and Matt along with seven grandchildren.

Rodger taught auto body and frame repair for 30 years at

Springfield Clark County JVS (now called CTC).

He was volunteer fireman and EMT for 17 years.

• Rodger has been building races car for 50 years. He has built Mini Stocks, Street Stocks,

Modified, Late model for himself and many others.

• He was the flagman at Shadybowl Speedway for 3 years

Rodger’s first modifed. He started the modified classes at Kil Kare Speedway and Lorain Country

Speedway.

Rodger was voted most popular driver in 1982, 1985 and 1986

Track Champion in 1991 and 1997

He set track records Kil-Kare Speedway, Shadybowl Speedway

and Lorain

Rodger was inducted into the DARF Hall of Fame

member of the Living Legend of Motorsports, Daytona Beach FL.

Rodger went to Taiwan and built and trained drivers and builders.

His wife, Bev won the first race in Taiwan and now one new she was a female until after the race was over.

There a lot of PR about a woman winning the race that several woman

signed up to take the class to be a driver. See you had to take the class

before you could race.

Racing has been a family sport, his father Otis raced at what was

Springfield Springs.Bev raced Street Stocks, and

Many people had an influence on Rodger. Some of them were Jack

Bowsher, Al Reeves and Mike Williams.
