INTRODUCTION

Glory be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ because He has loved us with an unconditional, unfathomable, inexplicable and unchanging love.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Jn 3:16

“We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us;” 1Jn 3:16a

The Love of God speaks of God reaching out to man unconditionally. He made us and the whole universe out of His love. God first loved us. While we have sinned and forgotten Him He reached out to us. His love is full of mercy, justice and goodness. He manifested His love toward us through His Son Jesus Christ who died for our sins and was offered as a ransom. His love was for all men, all humanity and the whole world. He showed His love to mankind by sending His only Son to die for the sins of the world so that whoever shall believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

In the beginning the first man Adam and Eve was tempted by Satan and fell into sin. This caused sin to enter into the world. All the world and creation were subjected to corruption and death because of sin. They were led out of the Garden of Eden and had the knowledge of good and evil. God promised a Redeemer to come to save man from the fall. Man continued to sin. In God’s love and care He sent Noah to the world. He preached that man should repent for judgment is coming but no one listened. The Lord judged the world by a worldwide flood and only Noah and his family were saved.

Many generations have passed and God found Abraham who would truly obey, love and worship Him. Abraham believed God’s coming salvation and blessing through his seed. Righteousness was credited to him. That promised seed was Jesus Christ from whom all nations shall be blessed. The Israelites came from Abraham and God has shown himself and gave the Law through Moses. Through generations and after generations God sent His prophets and announced things to come. They have prophesied the coming of a Messiah born of a virgin who shall save His people from their sins and through whom the world might believe and be saved.

Jesus Christ was in the beginning with His Father even before the creation of the world. For by Him all things were made and nothing was made without Him. He is the eternal and only begotten Son of the Father. All the prophets knew Him for He led them. In the proper time He went down from heaven and took the form of a man. The reason He came was to redeem man from their sins and from the fires of hell. Since the blood and sacrifices of lambs and bulls cannot take away sins, it was His body which was clean, undefiled and pure was offered as a sacrifice for our sins to make atonement. Through His shed blood we can be cleansed through faith. His blood was shed for the remission of sins. He resurrected on the third day triumphing over death and sin.

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. I am the bread that came down from heaven. I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me shall never see death. He that believes in the Son has eternal life and He that believe not the Son has not life. If the Son shall set you free you shall be free indeed. I came to seek and to save that which was lost. The Son of Man shall be betrayed, crucified and killed and shall rise on the third day.”

“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Me” Jn 14:6

God has shown His love toward us in that while we were sinners Christ died for our sins. Dear friends are you looking for the truth, peace, reality and experience of the true God, and you are tired of life and want to change? Jesus said, “Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” “I will give you water that you shall never thirst again. You shall have life and life abundantly.”

Jesus died on the cross for all men. He being the eternal Son of God and was not bound by time and space took a human body, was sacrificed and offered through the eternal Spirit before God the Father obtaining eternal redemption once and for all. That is why the Scripture— the word of God testified, “God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He that has the Son has eternal life. He that has not the Son has not eternal life.” Isaiah 53:6 said, “All of us has gone astray and the Lord has laid on Him all our iniquities.” Paul quoted Isaiah, “Lord, who has believed our report,” and “Whoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. The report was Christ died for our sins which is the gospel as Paul wrote at 1Corinthians 15:1-4.

The Gospel of God is the good news revealed by God to His prophets and apostles. It was the promise thousands of years ago God made to Abraham that through his seed all nations were to be blessed. This blessing is eternal life, salvation and forgiveness from all of our sins. The seed was Christ who was born of a virgin. He was crucified and died for the sins of the world and rose from the dead and through whom we shall be forgiven and be saved. He is the Lamb of God who was manifested to take away the sins of the world by the sacrifice of Himself.

(The gospel of God is distinguished from church doctrines. These have specific messages. We preach the gospel to unbelievers to be saved. Rom 10:9-17, Mark 1:14-15, Jn 3:14-18. Once they become disciples we teach them the doctrines of the LORD. Mt 28:19-20)

WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

1Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 2by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 3For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

11Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed. 1CO

15:1-4,11

WHAT IS THE GOSPEL MESSAGE THAT WE SHOULD PROCLAIM TO ALL PEOPLE FOR THEM TO BELIEVE AND BE SAVED?

Christ Sacrificed Himself for Our Sins Once and for All

The true, real and only gospel is that Jesus Christ was sent by the Father and took away, paid, ransomed and atoned for the sins of the world by the sacrifice of Himself. He did this once and for all and sat down at the right hand of God. Redemption and salvation were finished on the cross 2,000 years ago. Eternal life is now a free gift offered to all men. Atonement does not equate immediate salvation of man but God commanded all men to repent and whoever shall believe and have faith in the Son of God shall be saved. God desires all men to be saved and come into the knowledge of the truth. Grace is received by faith in the Son of God. We are made righteous and justified through faith in Christ through the gospel and sanctification of the Spirit.

All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.

Is 53:6

29The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Jn 1:29

14For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. … 19that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

2Cor 5:14-15, 19

27who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.

Heb 7:27

12and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

Heb 9:12

26Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

Heb 9:26

10By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;  12but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD,

Heb 10:10-12

3This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.

1Tim 2:3-6

24and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

1Pet 2:24

18For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

1Pet 3:18

2and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

1Jn 2:2

14We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

1Jn 4:14

THE GOSPEL IS THE GOOD NEWS THAT CHRIST THE SON OF GOD CAME, TOOK THE HUMAN FORM AND DIED FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD AND RESURRECTED FOR OUR REDEMPTION AND THROUGH HIM BY FAITH IN HIM WE SHALL BE FORGIVEN AND SAVED.

He that believed in Him has ETERNAL LIFE, IS FORGIVEN AND IS SAVED. It is Christ that will save us by grace through faith in Him. Our good works can not save us but af-ter you have believed you shall be rewarded. If you trust Christ’s FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS then you will be saved.

Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

Jn 19:30

“Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses. “Therefore take heed, so that the thing spoken of in the Prophets may not come upon you: ‘BEHOLD, YOU SCOFFERS, AND MARVEL, AND PERISH;FOR I AM ACCOMPLISHING A WORK IN YOUR DAYS,A WORK WHICH YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE, THOUGH SOMEONE SHOULD DESCRIBE IT TO YOU.’ ”   ACT 13:38-41 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET. For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying, “THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEMAFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD:I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART,AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,”He then says, “AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDSI WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.”Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.  HEB 10: 10-18  “Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”

ACT 10:43

Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the GOSPEL of God, which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, con-cerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh, who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord,

RO 1: 1-4 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

1CO 15:1-4,11 That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For

the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.” How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!” However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?”So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. RO 10: 9-17

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

RO 1:16 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.

1JN 5:11-12

At the foot of the cross you can not do anything but receive the pay-ment He did. Forgiveness and atonement can not be bought by our good works for we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. He has shut up all the world in disobedience so He can show mercy to all men. And if you accept the payment then you will obey, follow and keep His words.

Jesus said your FAITH HAS SAVED YOU …. SIN NO MORE.

“For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.” Then He said to her, “Your sins have been forgiven.” Those who were reclining at the ta-ble with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this man who even for-gives sins?” And He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.

Lk 7:47-50

Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.

Jn 8:10-11THE MESSAGE OF THE GOSPEL

Salvation is not in man’s way

Since it was man who sinned against God, it is but right that it should be God who shall give the parameters by which we shall be saved. Salvation is not found on man’s ways but on God’s.

23I know, O LORD, that a man's way is not in himself,Nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps. Jer 10:233Do not trust in princes,In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation. 4His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; In that very day his thoughts perish.5How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,        Whose hope is in the LORD his God,

Ps 146:3-4,5

25When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, "Then who can be saved?"  26And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Mt 19:25-26

A Message to be Heard

For man to be saved, it is necessary that he hear the message from God. This message will give him the understanding how God saves people since it is not in man’s ways. It is in this message where he shall put his faith and be saved. It is not just a message. The difference is the source is God.

21Peter went down to the men and said, "Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason for which you have come?"  22They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, was divinely directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear a message from you."

Act 10:21-22

36"The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)--  37you yourselves know the thing which took place throughout all Judea, starting from Galilee, after the baptism which John proclaimed.  38"You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.  39"We are witnesses of all the things He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross.  40"God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He become visible,  41not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. 42"And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead.  43"Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."  44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.  45All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.  46For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered,  47" Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?"  48And he ordered

them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.

Act 10:36-48

13"And he reported to us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying, 'Send to Joppa and have Simon, who is also called Peter, brought here;  14and he will speak words to you by which you will be saved, you and all your household.'  15"And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as He did upon us at the beginning.  16"And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' 17"Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God's way?" 18When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, "Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life."

Act 11:13-18

The Message from GodThe gospel of the Lord Jesus is the message God the Father has given to the apostles and to all His true servants to be preached to all men for salvation.

But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2Thess 2:13-14

This message is from God and not from manFor I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. Gal 1:11

Gospel should be preached clearlypraying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.

Col 4:3-4

Satan perverts, changes and hides itbut we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4in whose case the god of this

world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake.

2Cor 4:2-5

God’s Way for SalvationIt is through the preaching of the gospel that man is saved. Through the book of Acts we can see how God presents the way of salvation through His servants.

14and he will speak words to you by which you will be saved, you and all your household.'  15"And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as He did upon us at the beginning.  16"And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' 17"Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God's way?"

Act 11:14-17

17Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying, "These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation."

Act 16:17

17Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not in cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would not be made void. 18For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

1Cor 1:17-18

1Brethren, my heart's desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. 2For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. 3For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. 16However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, "LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?" Rom 10:1-3,16,

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

Rom 1:16-17

13But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

THE GOSPEL OF GOD

About the Son of God

The Gospel of God and of our Lord Jesus Christ is about Jesus Himself. It’s about the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ for the forgiveness of our sins and salvation of our souls.

1Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,  2which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures,  3concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh, 4who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord,

Rom 1:1-4

44Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled." 45Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46and He said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, 47and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48"You are witnesses of these things. Lk 24:44-48

39" You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; 46"For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me. 47"But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"

Jn 5:39, 46-47

God’s Testimony concerning Christ

God sent His Son Jesus Christ in the form of a man to the earth for a purpose. He gave the testimony about the Son and thattestimony is to bring eternal life through Him.

8Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,

2Tim 1:8

1:6

1And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.  2For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 1Cor 2:1-29If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son.  10The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.  11And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  12He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

The Sacrifice of Christ

12

Page 13: The Gospel of God - Pastor larry dela cruzpastorlarrydelacruz.weebly.com/uploads/1/4/7/2/...  · Web viewThe Gospel of God. is the good news ... 10There were those who dwelt in darkness

The Gospel is about the Sacrifice of Christ and its redeeming power for our ransom and salvation. The Prophets and the Apostles in the scriptures spoke about the sacrifice of Christ. Jesus confirmed the Scriptures were written about Him.

15How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!"

16However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, "LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?" Rom 10:15-16

Isaiah 53 The Suffering Servant    1Who has believed our message?         And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?     3He was despised and forsaken of men,         A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;         And like one from whom men hide their face         He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.     4Surely our griefs He Himself bore,         And our sorrows He carried;         Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,         Smitten of God, and afflicted.     5But He was pierced through for our transgressions,         He was crushed for our iniquities;         The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,         And by His scourging we are healed.     6All of us like sheep have gone astray,         Each of us has turned to his own way;         But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all         To fall on Him.     10But the LORD was pleased         To crush Him, putting Him to grief;         If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,         He will see His offspring,         He will prolong His days,         And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.     11As a result of the anguish of His soul,         He will see it and be satisfied;         By His knowledge the Righteous One,         My Servant, will justify the many,         As He will bear their iniquities.     12Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great,         And He will divide the booty with the strong;         Because He poured out Himself to death,         And was numbered with the transgressors;         Yet He Himself bore the sin of many,         And interceded for the transgressors.

Mt 20:28

17For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not in cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would not be made void.  18For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 23but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, 1Cor 1:17-18, 23

1Cor

4who gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,   Gal 1:4

8The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "ALL THE NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU."

Gal 3:8

The Promise of God Fulfilled

The Gospel or the Good News is the promise of God concerning Christ. He came to earth, took the form of a man, suffered, died on the cross and resurrected for the atonement of the sins of the world and whoever shall believed shall be saved. He is the Savior sent to the world.

18"But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. 19"Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;

Act 3:18-19

10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;  11for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Lk 2:10-11

27And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to carry out for Him the custom of the Law,  28then he took Him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,  29"Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, According to Your word; 30For my eyes have seen Your salvation, 31Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32A LIGHT OF REVELATION TO THE GENTILES,And the glory of Your people Israel."

Lk 2:27-32

5Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,"SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME; 6IN WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKEN NO PLEASURE. 7"THEN I SAID, 'BEHOLD, I HAVE COME(IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME)TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.'"

Heb 10:5-7,10-12

Man’s Need of the Gospel

Man is unregenerated, unsaved and natural. He is a slave to sin because of his sinful nature. Man needs the gospel to be saved. He needs to hear the good news in Christ to have faith in Him. On his own he can not go to heaven because he is indebted to God and was separated because of his sins and he falls short of the glory of God.

5He saved us not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

Tit 3:5

5Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  6" That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Jn 3:5-6

Eph 2:3, 1

14But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.  15But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one.

1 Cor 2:14-15

13for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.” 14How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? 15How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!” 16However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?” 17So faith comes from hearing, and hear-ing by the word of Christ.

All Have sinned

9What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin;  10as it is written,         " THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;     11THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS,         THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;     12ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS;         THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD,         THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE."     13"THEIR THROAT IS AN OPEN GRAVE,         WITH THEIR TONGUES THEY KEEP DECEIVING,"         "THE POISON OF ASPS IS UNDER THEIR LIPS";     14"WHOSE MOUTH IS FULL OF CURSING AND BITTERNESS";     15"THEIR FEET ARE SWIFT TO SHED BLOOD,     16DESTRUCTION AND MISERY ARE IN THEIR PATHS,

The sacrifice and death on the cross of our Lord Jesus is the taking away of the sins of the world, the atonement and ransom for iniquity. There was an actual payment and purchase on the cross. God was reconciling the world to Himself not counting our trespasses and sins. The sin of the world was

dealt on the cross. Salvation and eternal redemption were obtained and finished.

Reconciled us to God

10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Rom 5:10-11

Col 1:20-22

18Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST

The resurrection of our Lord Jesus completed our salvation. Should He not resurrect from the dead we are still in our sins. Satan won’t be defeated. He has resurrected and has now the power over sin and death. Eternal life is available now. His resurrection from the dead proved all His claims that is He is the Son of God and has destroyed the works of the enemy, sin and death.

O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?"

15For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Heb 9:15

FULFILLMENT OF THE GOSPEL

The Promise Now Fulfilled

God our Father has fulfilled His promise from Abraham unto us. The promise is eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ. It was fulfilled when He died on the cross redeeming sinful man from the penalty of sin and whoever shall repent and believe shall have eternal life.

God fulfilled His promise in Christ

18"But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. 19"Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;

Act 3:18-19

35"Therefore He also says in another Psalm, 'YOU WILL NOT ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY.' 36"For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent decay; 37but He whom God raised did not undergo decay. 38"Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.

Act 13:35-39

44Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled." 45Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46and He said to them, " Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, 47and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Lk. 24:44-46

34Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.

Jn. 4:34

4" I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.

Jn. 17:4

28After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, to fulfill the Scripture, said, "I am thirsty."

30Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

Jn 19: 28,30

39And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.

Heb. 11:39-40

10By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; 12but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD, 13waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET. 14For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

Heb 10:10-14

NOW THERE IS,

Forgiveness

28for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.

Mt. 26:28

77To give to His people the knowledge of salvation    By the forgiveness of their sins,

Lk. 1:77

47and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Lk. 24:47

43"Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."

Acts 10:43

7" BLESSED ARE THOSE WHOSE LAWLESS DEEDS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN,AND WHOSE SINS HAVE BEEN COVERED. 8" BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE SIN THE LORD WILL NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT."

Rom. 4:7-8

19namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 2Cor. 5:19

7In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

Eph. 1:7

21And in the same way he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry with the blood.  22And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Heb. 9:21-22

12I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name's sake.

1Jn. 2:12

Ransom for all

29The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Jn. 1:29

16"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17"For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

Jn 3:16-17

42and they were saying to the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world."

Jn 4:42

4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.

1Tim. 2:4-6

15It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.

1Tim. 1:15

9But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

Heb. 2:9

6For while we were still helpless at the right time Christ died for the ungodly… 8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. 10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Rom. 5:6,8-10

18Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

18For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

Act 13:38-39

demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed;

Rom. 3:23-25

25He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification.

Rom. 4:25

1Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. 10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Rom 5:1,8-11

30But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,

1Cor. 1:30

11Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

1Cor. 6:11

7In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

Eph.1:713For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Col.1:13-14

12and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.15For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Heb. 9:12,15

18knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.

1Pet.1:18-19

10In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Eternal Life

50"I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me."

Jn 12:50

36"He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." Jn 3:36

24"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Jn 5:24

40"For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." 47"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.

Jn 6:40,47

10but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

2Tim 1:10

22But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rom 6: 22,23

9By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.

1Jn 4:9

10The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son. 11And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

HOW CAN WE THEREFORE BENEFIT FROM THIS ABUNDANT GRACE AND MERCY?

Christ has finished the work of salvation. He has paid the sins of all mankind from the time of Adam to the last man to be born on earth. To be saved God has a requirement— repentance and faith in Christ. God calls all men to

52

repent and turn away from their sins. It is a 360 degrees turn from wickedness to a life of righteousness and accept His Son our Lord Jesus Christ. God the Father is glorified when someone receives His Son. He saves him because he has believed His Son and His testimony about Him. His Son who suffered, died and resurrected for our redemption and took the ransom by the sacrifice of Himself for the sins of the whole world. Christ is the payment for our sins. He died and paid for our sins. At the cross before His last breath He said, “IT IS FINISHED.” Atonement at the cross does not equate immediate salvation of man but ransom was made and now offered to all men. This is the grace of God. God foreordained Christ crucified and foresaw our justification and righteousness through faith in Christ. Heaven is now opened. Salvation and eternal life is now a free gift and is offered to all men for the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to all men.

God commanded us to:

1. Repent and turn away from our sins

15and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

Mk 1:15  3"I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

Lk 13:3

9The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

2 Pet 3:9

2how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house,21solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Act 20:20-21

2. Have Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ

36"He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

Jn 3:36

24"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Jn 5:24

3. Be Baptized in His Name

18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 “ Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Mt 28:18-20

The Results are through the Gospel the Repentant Believers:

Become sons of God12But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

Jn 1:12-13

Then Peter answered,  47" Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?"

1 Jn 4:14 We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

1 Jn 5:9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son. 10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son. 11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

INVITATIONDear Friends,

Do you want to be saved and be forgiven from your sins and have eternal life now?

The Bible says:

“That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.  For the Scripture says, ‘WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.’ For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for ‘WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.’"

Rom 10:9-13

Please follow this prayer:

Heavenly Father, I’m coming before You. Forgive me from all of my sins. I believe that Jesus is Lord. He died and resurrected for our sins. Cleanse me with the blood of Jesus. Lord Jesus, I receive You as my Lord and Savior. I receive now eternal life and forgiveness of all my sins. Lord fill me with Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name. Amen.

After you have prayed, remember this day is your day of salvation and you have been born by God to His family. You are now a child of God destined for heaven. Pray everyday and have your own bible and read it. Look for a Christian friend and attend born again church services.

COMMITMENT

I CONFESS AND BELIEVE FROM MY HEART THAT JESUS DIED FOR MY SINS AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD. I ACCEPT HIM AS MY LORD AND SAVIOR. I AM NOW SAVED, FORGIVEN AND GIVEN ETERNAL LIFE.

THEREFORE, I NOW COMMIT MY LIFE TO OUR DEAR AND LOVING SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. I WILL FOLLOW AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS AND SERVE HIM WITH ALL OF MY HEART. I COMMIT TO GROW, LOVE AND SERVE ONE ANOTHER.

THE GOSPEL OF GODO U T L I N E

In our time, some false prophets and false churches teach that the bible is the good news or the gospel. It seems right. Indeed the gospel is the word of God but it is deceiving not to say what is clearly stated in the Scripture. They make use of their doctrines to exchange for the real gospel. Other religions deny the final authority of the Scripture. The purpose of this study is to show from the Scripture what really the gospel is. Paul said, “But even if we, or an angel

from heaven, should preach to you another a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!” Gal 1:8. Therefore we can know what another gospel is if we know the gospel preached by Paul and the apostles.

The gospel of God is distinguished from church doctrines. These have specific messages. We preach the gospel to unbelievers to be saved. Once they become disciples we teach them the doctrines of the LORD. Mt 28:19-20

The Word “gospel” comes from the Greek word “evangelio” meaning good news. The word of God, the Scripture declares a gospel “good news” about the Son of God. It is incomplete if we just say that the Scripture is the good news. The Scriptures clearly show us what the good news is about the Son of God- He died for the sins of the whole world.

Lk 24:27, 44-47 1Pet 1:10-13 Rom 1:1-2 Gal 3:8, 16,22

1Pet 2:24

18For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

1Pet 3:18

2and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

1Jn 2:2

14We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

1Jn 4:14

1Cor. 1:30, 6:11

God calls all men to repent and turn away from their sins.

1. Repent and turn away from our sins Mk 1:15 Lk 13:3 2Pet 3:9 Act 20:20-21

2. Have Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ Jn 3:36, 5:24

3. Be Baptized in His Name Mt 28:18-20, Mk 16:16

The Results are through the Gospel the repentant believers:

1. Become sons of God Jn 1:12-13 Gal 3:26, 4:6

2. Saved Mk 16:15-16 1Pet 1:9
