    EVENT VENUE

    SSaannttaaFFeeis a fourth class municipality located in the northwestern part of the province

    of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 27, 270 people. The

    municipalitys territory comprises the southeastern portion of Bantayan Island (bordering on the

    Municipality of Bantayan), and the islands of Guintacan (Kinatarcan) and Hilantagaan. It is the gateway to

    the Bantayan group of Islands.

    Santa Fe is one of the most crowded municipalities especially during the summer season. She caters to a

    large number of tourist, both foreign and locals who spend their holiday on this lush and beautiful island.

    The beaches in this part of the island offers particularly fine white sand and blue crystal clear water.

    HOW TO GET THERE?

    Nearest Airport:

    1. Mactan Cebu International Airport2. Silay Bacolod International Airport

    Domestic Seaports:

    1. Cebu PortFrom Cebu City:

    Take a Bus from Cebu North Bus Terminal bound for HAGNAYA, San Remegio, Cebu. From the Hagnaya wharf, take a ferry bound for Santa Fe, Cebu.

    From Bacolod City:

    Take a Bus from Bacolod or Silay Bus Terminal bound for CADIZ CITY, Negros Occidental. From the Cadiz Port, ride a boat bound for Bantayan Island. Ride a local tricycle from the town of Bantayan to the town of Santa Fe, Cebu.

    INFORMATION KIT

    ELIGIBILITYParticipation to The Great Titan (TGT) Lifesaving National Championships 2014 is open to:

    Lifesavers and Sportsmen of Philippine Lifesaving (PLS) from the different Regions and

    Centers, Rescue groups and Lifesaving Organizations/Clubs in affiliation with the PLS and

    any individual and/or organization in membership with the ILS.

    Any individual who would want to join the event as un-attached. Un-attached refers

    records will not in any way affect the previous, existing national records. Interested

    individuals, please contact any PLS Regional Office for endorsement or may contact us @

    [email protected].

    COMPOSITIONA team must be composed of Six (6) members. At least two (2) female is required in each

    team.

    RULESTGT Lifesaving Sports National Championship 2014 shall be ran under applicable

    Rules and Regulations of International Life Saving (ILS) Federation Lifesaving Sports

    Manual.

    REGISTR TIONPlease take note of the following registration:

    1. Actual on venue registration for all participants (Bronze Medallion Awardees,Lifesaving sports participants, volunteers etc.)

    2. Event entry for Lifesaving Sports participants.3. Registration is Five Thousand Five hundred Pesos(Php5, 500 .00) per Team only.

    (Registration fee is Inclusive of event shirt, singlet Access ID, welcome dinner, and

    fellowship night dinner)

    4. Maximum of forty (40) team slots will be admitted for TGT2014.

    REGISTR TION C RDSID cards will be given to all Registered Participants. It is your means of admission to

    Ready Bench Area before your event is called and your access to designated

    accommodations and to all meetings and conferences.

    TE M G LLERYEach participating team will be required to submit a gallery of the players. Pictures (2x2)

    must be provided for proper identification. The gallery must be provided both in soft and

    hard copy. (Please see attached sample gallery)

    ENTRY DE DLINEBy 5:00 p.m. April 30, 2014. All participants must submit all requirements. All

    information must be received on or before the closing date. Participating Teams for the

    Lifesaving Sports are encouraged to send all entry information via email. (Please see entry

    form)

    MEETINGSSchedule of Coaches and Team Managers Meetings will be announced.

    W RDS1. Medals will be given to 1st, 2ndand 3rdplacers in the final heat only.2. Most Valuable Lifesaver (men) will receive the Rob Bradley Award3. Most Valuable Lifesaver (women) will receive the Shayne Baker Award4. The Grand Titan Team will receive the TGT Medal Medal Award and a Trophy.

    CCOMOD TIONAccommodations can be made by the team directly to the hotel or any other dwelling

    place. Should the team need assistance, the TGT 2014 organizing committee would be

    very willing to make bookings, as requested. Bookings shall be made before April 10,

    2014 as the event falls on peak season thus hotels are expected to be booked by many

    other guests in the island.

    LIFESAVING SPORTS EVENT

    POOL EVENTS100m Manikin Carry w/ Fins

    The competitor swims 50m freestyle wearing fins and the dives to recover a

    submerged manikin to the surface within 10m of the turning edge. The

    competitor carries the manikin to the finish edge of the pool.

    100m Manikin Tow w/ Fins

    The competitor swims 50m freestyle wearing fins and rescue tube.

    After touching the turning edge, the competitor fixes the rescue tube around a

    manikin floating at the surface at the edge and tows it to the finish.

    200m Obstacle SwimThe competitor swims 200m freestyle during which he/she swims under eight (8)

    immeresed obstacles.

    4 x 50m Obstacle Relay

    Four (4) competitors swim 50m freestyle each passing under two (2) obstacles.

    50m Manikin Carry

    The competitor swims 25m freestyle and then dives to recover a submerged

    manikin to the surface within 5m of the pick-up line. He then carries the manikin

    to the finish edge of the pool.

    Line Throw

    In this timed event, the competitor shows an un-weighted line to a fellow team

    member located in the water approximately 12m distant and pulls this victim

    back to the poolside.

    BE CH EVENTSBeach Run

    2km: Competitors race 2000m on the beach in four (4) 500m legs

    1km: Competitors race 1000m on the beach in two (2) 500m legs.

    Beach Sprint

    Competitors take their positions in their allotted lanes. At the starting

    signal, competitors race the 90m course to the finish line. The finish is

    judged on his chest crossing the finish line. They must finish the event

    on their feet in an upright position.

    Beach Relay

    Teams of four (4) individuals (3 in Masters) compete in baton relay

    fashion over a 90m course.

    To start, 2 (1 & 2 members in Masters) competitors take positions in

    their allotted lane at each end of the course.

    After the start, each competitor completes a leg of the course with a

    baton held in either hand and passes the baton at the conclusion of the

    first, second and third legs to the next runner.

    Beach FlagFrom a prone starting position on the beach, competitors rise, turn and

    race to obtain a baton (beach flag) buried upright in the sand

    approximately 20m away.

    Since there are always fewer batons than competitors, those who failto

    obtain a baton are eliminated.

    Run Swim Run

    From the start line, competitors run to pass around the turning flag and

    enter the water to swim out to and around the buoys. Competitors swim

    back to the beach to again run around the turning flag before running to

    the finish line.
