Holding Grudges, Constantly Being Offended… It’s like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. If you are on a continuous search to be offended, you will always find what you are looking for! THE PERSON YOU WOUND THE MOST WITH A GRUDGE IS IN YOUR MIRROR Ephesians 4:1-5 The Apostle Paul wanted these communities to embrace unity. Unity doesn’t mean uniformity—it requires forbearance. Living “a life worthy of the calling you received.” Humble, Gentle, Patient, Loving—how can you hold a grudge? “Make every effort…” Sometimes people don’t cooperate. One body, one Spirit, one hope—there’s no hierarchy for grace. Life is too short and your purpose is too amazing to life in a constant state offense—holding grudges. How do we begin the process of letting go of our hurts We close the gap with LOVE - Proverbs 10:12 The gap between an action and our reaction—We get to CHOOSE what we PUT IN THE GAP The “Fundamental Attribution Error” The bias to attribute our own behavior to our circumstances while attributing someone else’s actions to their character.
