FROM THE MANAGER’S DESK

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2017! *The Sales Office will be closed Monday, January 2, 2017.

*Refuse pick up will be Saturday, January 7, 2017.

Another year gone…. We would like to thank all the residents that sent the Office Staff (Debra, Jessica and Matt) cards, goodies and gifts. Your thoughts and considerate gifts are greatly appreci-ated. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. From all of us in the Sales Office; We wish you and your families the very best for the 2017 New Year. We would like to thank all the Volunteers, Committee Members and Board Members that make Gypsum Mills an enjoyable place to live. Without all of you who donate your precious time and smiles every day, we would not be able to perform as an activity oriented Community. You are so important to all of us. The Board Members support and approve the activi-ties that are so important to everyone here. We are so fortunate to have a Board that wants to have fun. That is the key to their success. Issues do arise every now and then, we will work together to find the happy medium.

If anyone is interested in volunteering their time in 2017, please talk to a Board Mem-ber they can help you. We welcome you with open arms! Plus it gives our regular vol-unteers a break so they can enjoy some time with family and friends.

Copied this notice from the gypsumcoop.org web site NEWS from 12/14/2016. Important information that should be reiterated.

1. When the temperature drops below 10 degrees, run a small trickle of water from a faucet. Moving water cannot freeze.

2. Be sure your heat tape is working. This is the responsibility of the home owner. Insulation needs to be wrapped around the pipe as well. There is a light at the end of the heat tape where it is plugged in; It will be on if it is energized. There is a thermostat in the heat tape that shuts it off when the temperature warms up sufficiently. (It does not run in the summer).

3. Remember, a frozen pipe could cost you upwards of $85 to thaw out. See our website www.gypsumcoop.org and choose the "Services Directory" if you need help. Ask for pricing.

4. Open cupboard doors where the water pipes come into the kitchen or bath to let some warmer air enter.

5. Stay warm, and check on your neighbors to be sure the elderly are OK.

Toys for Tots: The toys and teenage gifts were picked up December 15, 2016. Thank you for thinking of the older children too. With your donations and help, we had two full boxes of toys and gifts collected. Great job!

Gypsum Mills Office will be closed Monday December 26, 2015 for the Christmas Holiday.

VICTOR HIGHWAY DEPT. & WINTER REMINDERS: With the winter season upon us, it is important that town residents remember the following rules when snow arrives: DO NOT plow snow in the road or across it. Keep it on your property and in an area, that does not obstruct your view or that of drivers on the roadway. If you hire someone to plow for you, please be sure that they are aware of and follow these rules. DO NOT let children play in snowdrifts near the road. It is difficult & often impossible for plow oper-ators to see them. REMEMBER there is NO PARKING on Town roadways from No-vember 1st - April 1st, unless otherwise posted.

Outside Holiday Decorations: Everything has been festive and beautiful in Gypsum Mills, as it is every year! Please, don’t forget to remove decorations within 15 days af-ter a holiday, weather permitting. If the weather is not cooperating wait to remove them, and please keep your lights off until you can remove them safely. Thank you to everyone that decorated the Community Center inside and outside, you all did a won-derful job!

Important numbers to save: If you are hav-ing issues with paying your utility bills, there is a program called HEAP that you can ap-ply for, they can help assist you in paying your bill with Rochester Gas and Electric 1-800-342-3009. The Office for the Aging will help with other issues as well 1-800-342-9871.

Very Truly Yours, Debra DeMars

Property Manager

PANERA BREAD

With the weather getting bad it will be difficult to put the bread in the Library when there is a party on Sunday. We don’t want anyone to fall trying to walk thru snow. So I will put it in the foyer when there is a party and the weather is bad. Remember, this is a good time to share with neighbors. Thank you from the Panera baggers!

Just wanted to say Thank You to all our friends and neighbors who attended the Party. We had 39 people who laughed, ate, and swapped gifts back and forth. Especially a quilted tree skirt, musical ce-ramic stove, lights in a bottle and a Christmas lantern that lite up. Everyone was having a great time. Bill Schukraft played the organ with Christmas, rock and soft music. We also had quite a se-lection of appetizers for everyone. Last but not least I want to thank everyone who stayed and helped clean up and those who offered to stay and help. Thank You all for coming ~ see you again next year. ~Linda Bartolone

We had over 120 people at the Chorus Concert December 13th! Thanks to all that made such delicious cookies. YUM! ~Char Austin

Thank you to Linda and her Committee for the fun Yankee Swap Christmas Par-ty. Thank you to Bill Schukraft for the beautiful organ music. A good time was had by all. ~Shirley Carney

A very special thank you to everyone who helped our 3 year old grandson Johnny, for raising money for his school, CP of Rochester. The goal was $34.00, one dollar for each week since he was diagnosed with autism. That goal was surpassed at $57.00! We couldn't have done it without all of you here in our new community who have welcomed us, as well as John when he visits. From resi-dents who say hello who pass just walk-ing or on golf carts. To the lifeguards and residents here at the pool, and the our close neighbors we now have, we can't thank the community enough. Especially Louie, who Johnny met at the pool this summer and talks of often. Sincerely, Tim and Alisa Maxam, Johnny and his mom Calie
