    These values have remained

    steadfast throughout the arch-

    dioceses long and distinguished

    history of providing a Christ-

centered education one that focuses on

educating the mind, body and soul of a child.

    While were maintaining those traditional

values, at the same time, were embracing

the 21st Century through modernized sys-tems that meet the needs of todays fami-

lies. For more than 200 years, our core fun-

damentals have stood the test of time and

    worked everywhere, providing high quality

    education from the bustling neighborhoods

of the Bronx and Staten Island to the quiet

hamlets of Ulster and Dutchess counties

and the countless communities in bet ween.

Today, the Archdiocese of New York edu-

cates nearly 72,000 students in 218 elemen-

tary and secondary schools and in excellent

early childhood programs. In fact, the Arch-

diocese of New York is one of the largestproviders of early childhood programs in

the metropolitan area with more than 7,500

children in Pre-K3, Pre-K4 and free universal

    pre-kindergarten (UPK) programs.

    Our nationally recognized schools pre-

pare students to be able to reach their full

    potential in life intellectually, spiritually

and physically. Of our high school seniors,

98% graduate and 96% go on to post-

    secondary education. Our graduates have

gone on to become respected leaders in

their communities and in the fields of law,

finance, education, technology, public ser-vice, civil service, athletics and just about

    every other profession imaginable.

We are committed to keeping our schools

    excellent, affordable and accessible. We

celebrate diversity in a community of

shared values and welcome children of

    all backgrounds. Our faith-based mission

    hasnt changed because it works.

As we restructure our schools in newlydefined regions and continue our commit-

ment to professional development for our

dedicated teachers, we have also instituted

new programs to introduce new families to

our schools. This year, in every region, uni-

versal open houses called Touring Tues-

days were created for parents to learn

more about Catholic education and assist

    them in the enrollment process.

Touring Tuesdays are set for Feb. 11,

    March 11 and May 13 from 911 a.m. to

make it easier for busy parents to tour

our schools, meet our exceptional facultyand witness a Catholic education in ac-

tion. Reservations are required and can be

    made online at www.BuildBoldFutures.org,

or by calling the bilingual phone line (646)

    794-2885.

    Our website, www.BuildBoldFutures.org,

makes it easier for parents to find and in-

teract with school representatives who can

schedule tours and advise them throughout

    the enrollment process. The archdiocese

has made a commitment to provide the

highest level of customer service for all

families to ensure individual schools havethe resources necessary to reach the next

    generation of Catholic students.

By providing continuing education for our

faculty and staff, the archdiocese is ensur-

ing that lifelong learning isnt only for the

students. When our educators are empow-

ered to improve their courses and curricu-

lums, our students reap the rewards.

    Catholic schools have historically been

a gateway out of poverty for diverse

    populations. Because this continues to

be an important role for the archdiocese,

bilingual operators are available 24/7 and

    a robust community outreach program

and scholarships are available for under-

served Hispanic-Latino children in an ini-

tiative co-sponsored by The University of

    Notre Dame.

Through these bold efforts, the arch-

diocese is reshaping and adapting our

approach to meet todays needs while re-

    inforcing our time-honored traditions. A

Catholic education is an investment that

pays invaluable dividends. It starts in the

classroom and continues for a lifetime.

We invite you to become part of our

Catholic community. To learn more, visit

    our website, www.BuildBoldFutures.org,
