Howler Details…. MAYOR’S MESSAGE March has come and gone, a month filled with community events. I was able to participate in Winter Festival, Hepburn School Career Fair, and Fire & First Responders Banquet Fundraiser. There were other community events too. The ones I took part in were well-attended, fun, and successful. Thanks everyone for volunteering and participating. The Citizen of the Year was announced at Winter Festival, and I congratulate Rob and Kim Bushman for winning this prestigious community award. March is also budget season, and with the Provincial Budget coming out, we will see tax changes and impact from this budget. Saskatchewan is our province and the provincial debt and deficit is all of our problem. We will pull together to regain provincial financial stability. As we set the town budget, we will work hard to maintain fair and consistent tax- es. Howler Details….

MAYOR’S MESSAGE March has come and gone, a month filled with

community events. I was able to participate in Winter Festival, Hepburn School Career

Community Group THANK-YOU: This Month’s Feature is: HEPBURN MINOR SOCCER. The Board is Kim

Bushman, Carrie Larson, Laurel Sexsmith, Melanie Scarrow, & Amanda

Bruneau. The club has 116 players registered from U6 to U18. Minor Soc-

cer Open House is Tuesday April 25th, School, from 6:30-7:30pm, & the

AGM at 7:30. April 30 the season begins. The open house is a time for the

players to pick up their jerseys, get their schedules, meet their coaches, &

pick up the Prairie Meats fundraiser info. Thanks to those HELPING out

with this community group! The players are selling Prairie Meats from

SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL: Literacy Week was a HUGE Success! Thank you to all who made it happen! Author Sigmund Brouwer was here for a K-12 Rock & Roll Literacy Assembly, Student Literacy Workshops & Family Literacy Night. The Book Fair raised ~$1000 for library books. K-12 Noon Hour Activities included Scavenger Hunts & Black-Out Poetry!! Volunteer Readers were involved including Superintendent of Learning Lori Jeschke & Community Member Karen Boldt. We had our first K-12 Reading Buddies activity. Students & Staff participated in "Dress up like your favourite Book Character Day" and Indigo Books Gift Cards were awarded for "best dressed" by our SRC (sponsored by SCC).
