Act Description and Bio: No matter the genre or time period of your event, Doug Peterson has a show for you. He specializes in Renaissance, Fantasy, and Steam Punk, but is also known for playing Science fiction, and other conventions. As Robyn the Bard he plays Celtic ballads and drinking songs, along with a mix of novelty originals and parodies like “Mime in my Head”, and “Send in the Rum.” His scripted sets are family friendly, heavy on audience participation, and nuanced like a Bugs Bunny cartoon. A versatile performer, he also has a just-for-kid’s sing-along pirate show which has been a hit for the last two years at the Michigan Pirate Festival. Professor Robyn Wyldwood is what happens when a Steampunk Mad Hatter meets The Music Man. A charismatic if slightly doddering shyster, he uses his charm to sell the audience on his degree in Pseudopartispectaetyquasi-musicology, with an entire song on the subject to boot! This scripted set is all about getting the audience to join in, and includes such songs as “Ukulele Zombie”, and “The Evil Mechanical Chipmunk.” If you like a more serious set, his originals like “Tick-Tock” and “Not of This Normalcy” will set your toes a-tappin’ and your brain a-thinkin’. Doug has spent the last seventeen years performing Renaissance fairs, and using his real degree to teach music and his passion for the craft. He currently resides in Kalamazoo, splitting his free time between novel writing, working on his next album, and watching Doctor Who reruns.
