MY DAUGHTER IS A LITTLE

You have what it takes to make a meaningful difference in your child’s life- the gift of TIME; spend it wisely; spend it with your child.”(HIPPY, 2011)
SERVICES Home visits Home lesson materials Access to extra materials, equipment,

WHERE DID THIS ALL START? The first HIPPY Program began, oddly
enough, in Israel. Dr. Avima Lombard—Native of Israel Hebrew University in Jerusalem, 1969

HOW DID THEY GET THAT JOB?
Program Coordinator—Usually has a degree in Early Childhood and other qualifications.
Homebased Educator—Trained by the Program Coordinator and requires several other skills:
• Mature• Good communication skills• Works well with others• Cares about community
DIVERSITY They serve families that are
multicultural and from generally low socio-economic backgrounds to give children a head start or boost before they start kindergarten.
WHAT I FIND SURPRISING! I find it incredibly surprising how easily
accessible the program and its coordinators are.
I find it surprising how well my “little hippy” has responded to the homebased educator, Mrs. Kristie and the resources we have been able to use so far.
