qqqqqqqt is my great privilege to welcome you to this Chronological Bible

qqqqqqqReading Plan. The Plan was specifically designed to provide a devotional

and contextual way of reading through God’s Word in a year. It does this by

arranging the Old and New Testaments into chronological order, the order that

the biblical events actually happened, and then dividing the chronologically

ordered Scriptures into 365 daily readings.

The integrity of the Bible as the infallible Word of God has been understood by

Christians throughout the centuries. We would be wise to be like those Bereans

who searched the scriptures with a believing faith-filled mind: “These were more

noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness

of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, to see whether those things were so”

(Acts 17:11). In this way, we continue in the historical Sola Scriptura (Scripture

Alone) perspective of champions of the faith throughout the ages, people such

as Martin Luther, John and Charles Wesley, George Whitfield, and many others.

Charles Spurgeon for example, who so wisely taught: If there be anything in

the church to which you belong which is contrary to the inspired word, leave

that Church. To the law and to the testimony here is the infallible chart of faith,

follow it closely, and if you do, you need have no fear of coming short, for this

book cannot lead you astray”.

Reading the Bible in chronological order can help us gain an accurate and often

deeper perspective on the Scriptures. The chronological approach places related

passages next to each other in order to illuminate and complement a fuller

context. We hope that you will enjoy this way of reading the Bible, above all,

may it enrich your walk with Christ and give you both a deeper appreciation, and

application of, God’s Word.
