Unit volume of sales is reflected in recorded grant deeds. Fewer grant deeds were recorded in 2008 than in any of the previous six years for both Laguna Beach and Newport Beach.
The unit volume of sales for properties with known sales prices over $3,000,000 and over $5,000,000 for 2005–2008 is detailed in the accompanying graph. The proportionate decline is consistent with the overall averages.
