Monthly Toastmasters meetings the month of August was conducted on 1st & 3rd Saturday

which was 03rd & 20th of October 2020 from 06:30 pm to 08:30 pm. The members

He is a sought after speaker on Cybersecurity and currently on advisory board with manyindustry consortiums. Sangam is keen in giving back to the community and is an activeparticipant in many events. He advises community members from kids to seniors on the variouscyber security aspects and writes various blogs and articles on current affairs that are relevant.

He has an engineering degree in Electronics & Communication and an MBA in Systems &Marketing. Sangam's areas of interest and expertise include cyber-security, online safetyfor vulnerable sector, communication skills, public speaking, leadership and motivation.His varied interests include photography, painting, astronomy and Vedic mathematics.

He is a well-known Cyber-Security specialist based inDenver, Colorado, with over 25 years of experience,qualified security expert with leading industrycertifications such as GSEC, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSK andVTSP. He has also presented on diverse topics at varioussecurity forums and was invited by Interpol to speak at theInternational Cyber Security Conference held in New Delhi

American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) - Kuwait Chapter's Process Safety Management

(PSM) Forum's 4th webinar was organized on 21st October 2020 on the ZOOM platform where

Mr. Salman Panwala presented his case study on “Buncefield incident” and Mr. Mazharuddin

R. Shaikh shared presentation on "Process safety management before operation phase".

Around 108 participants attended the session.

Mr. Mazharuddin R Shaikh is a Chemical Engineer with more than 16

years of experience in HSE. He is presently working with state-owned

Kuwait Oil Company and serving the American Society of Safety

Professional Kuwait Chapter at Vice President's capacity.

He has hands-on experience in process safety integration from the

project definition stage to the demolition stage. He has presented many

technical papers on different aspects of safety on international forums in

the USA, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East at well-known conferences

organized by CCPS, AIChE, SPE, WHO, etc. He won the best presentation

award in Process Safety by KPC in 2019.

Mr. Salman Panwala is a Safety Engineer with more than 10 years of

experience in engineering construction and energy industry.

He is an Engineering graduate from India, with Postgraduate diploma in

Risk Management and International Marketing from the University of

Wales, UK. He is a certified lead auditor for ISO 45001:2018 and

completed International Certificate in PSM by ASSP apart from other HSE

qualifications.

As part of ASSP Kuwait Chapter WISE (Women in Safety Excellence) committee's goals and

objectives, several activities/awareness campaigns were organized in the recent past for the

benefit of the Industry and Community which was supported and appreciated by the

members and corporates in Kuwait.

Technical Meet on "Awareness on Breast Cancer" was conducted on 31st October 2020 on the

ZOOM platform where Dr. Anwar Alnajjar shared the presentation.

The awareness session was very much interactive, and it was followed by Question & Answer

Session. Around 65 participants, including ASSP Kuwait Chapter Members, their spouses &

ladies benefitted the session.

As Cricket is one of the most favored sports among the members, ASSP KC Cricket Team formed

in the Sep-2019.

Core Committee decided to give a professional and competitive platform to ASSP cricket team

by participating in cricket tournament organized by Kuwait Cricket Club, official body organizing

various tournaments in the Kuwait

Mr. Rishi (Chapter Sr. Executive) who also having a key role in Kuwait Cricket Club as a Head –

Domestic Cricket & Operations provided his expertise in the formation of team.

The Outreach Committee head Mr. Balvant Singh Kathayat managing the Team with a support

from Core Committee and outreach deputy Head Mr. Shafi Haider.

ASSP KC team participated in the KC T20 Desert League 19/20 2nd Edition being played on

concrete pitch at Hateen and Tack grounds where as KC T20 Premier League 19/20 2nd Edition

tournament is being played on turf at Suliabiya

Due to the pandemic, KC suspended the tournament as per the Government Guideline and

resumed back to tournament in the month of October.

ASSP KC Team is playing in E1 Group having 6 teams at KC T20 Desert League 19/20 2nd Edition

and in KC T20 Premier League 19/20 2nd Edition playing in Group B4 having 7 teams.

ASSP CRICKET

As a part of Outreach Committee activity

and to promote Health and Fitness among

the members through sports activity, ASSP

KC decided to form a sports team.

The purpose is to motivate ASSP Members

towards sports to get the benefit like metal

and physical fitness and also to develop

Teamwork, understanding, communication

and leadership in a participatory fun and

physically activity competition.

WHAT IS PANDEMIC (COVID - 19)

WASTE?As millions of gloves and mask being used &

thrown away every single day. Coronavirus has

become a new form of pollution as rise in single-

use personal protective equipment (PPE) floods

our streets and oceans.

WHY PANDEMIC (COVID-19) WASTE IS

INCREASING?As essential in the effort to stop the spread of this

virus. When PPE gets discarded in public areas, it

ends up clogging sidewalks drains and washing

into waterways.

HOW TO CONTROL PANDEMIC (COVID-19)

WASTE.As country emerges from the pandemic, we will all have to find

ways to rebuild and to renew. Let this moment be a wake-up call

for all of us and opportunity to choose a different path-one that

ensures environment sustainability and resilience are the lens

through which we make decisions and map out our recovery.

RISE OF PANDEMIC (COVID -19) WASTE

On top of that, some members of the industry groups are taking advantage of the fear and

uncertainty around the pandemic to push suspensions or rollbacks of hard-won

environmental measures to reduce this pollution. They’re claiming “an abundance of caution”

as the reason to reinstate widespread use of single use PPE’s.

Following things to do to control pandemic (COVID -19) waste.

• Properly Dispose of used PPE’s and empty sanitizer bottles.

• Do not Litter PPE’s at various public places like park, market,

beaches, etc.

• Allocate a separate PPE disposal bin/ point in your office.

• Talk about pandemic waste crisis to spread awareness.

• Follow proper contaminated waste management procedure.
