• Prentice school teaches children with specific language disabilities the skills they need to succeed in today’s world.

• Prentice school uses a multi-sensory approach to help students develop an enthusiasm for learning, academic competence, effective work habits, self-discipline and confidence.

North Orange County Regional Occupational

Program• Training occurs through classroom

instruction and participation in a laboratory preschool program. Focus is on experiential learning and developmentally appropriate practices. As part of instruction, this course reinforces skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and mathematics and requires their application in workplace situations.

• Integrated throughout the course are career preparation standards, which include communication, ethics, interpersonal/team skills, critical thinking and problem solving, safety, technology, and other employment skills. Students are given opportunities to demonstrate personal qualities, including responsibility, self-confidence, and self-management.

They provide a flexible environment so children have a great amount of control over their own activities. This encourages learning because play is the child's most valuable learning tool. It helps them to learn self awareness and problem solving.

Value of project for teaching and students

• This project was an excellent opportunity to observe Early Childhood centers and experience current trends in the field.

• Students gain knowledge of research technology, emerging philosophies and reflect upon their own beliefs of the most enriching environment for children.
