1Corinthians 4:20

Being a Dad is one of my favorite things in the entire world. There is nothing like being home, sitting across from my wife and spending time with my four daughters. I love to hear them tell stories (over and over and over again) with their curious imagination. I especially love tickling and kissing their cheeks to hear them endlessly giggle. There is nothing like it of course there is also nothing like hearing them screech to the top of their lungs. But that’s the exuberant joy of a child. Being a Dad also means I have the opportunity and responsi-bility to help my little children cultivate faith in a big God. It is a job that I cannot outsource to grandparents, the school, the church, daycare or anyone else. God has given me a gift and I must be a faithful steward of such a valuable resource.

I pray that you can see the same opportunities in your family and in our church family. There are second chances for parents—it’s called grand-parenting! And there are u-turns for those who may have turned down a wrong path or wan-

dered aimlessly. It is never too late to start fresh in service to the Lord. Even for those who may not have children there are people God has placed in your life for the purpose of growing godly generations among every age. Look. Listen. Love. Lead.

SENT to proclaim the gospel with our lips and to promote the gospel with our lives.

SENT BALTIMORE: On June 5-7 we will partner with “Jesus

Our Redeemer” (new church plant) to help reach the city and join the national SBC Crossover outreach. Especially, we want to send 25+ people on Saturday June 7 for this local mission experience! Sign up in our Great Commission Center.

SENT NICARAGUA: Our 3rd

Annual International Missions trip to

Nicaragua will be July 31-Aug 7. You can participate by praying, giving financially or providing bowls (hard plastic at dollar store) & colored t-shirts (all kid sizes; plain at Michaels or dollar store) and by going.

For those interested in going there will be an intro & info meeting March 2, 4pm @Glen Burnie Baptist Church or see PD immediately!

The North American Mission Board (NAMB) exists to spread the gospel, start churches, and share God’s love in North America.

This year’s NAMB Offering goal will be in 3 Levels for a total of $2200+ 1) NAMB — $1200+ 2) Life Connection Church in Severn, with Pastor Martin Bennett — $500 3) Jesus Our Redeemer church in Baltimore with Pastor Brad O’Brien — $500 We hope to meet each level and any dollars exceeding these goals will go directly towards NAMB. The reason behind 3 levels rather than a single offering to NAMB is to invite our church in direct partnership to bless, encourage and personally come alongside local church plants. On Sunday March 30 we will have guest speaker Ron Larson from SEND Baltimore to share about the ministry of NAMB and how we can partner together. The following weeks in April will also have special emphasis for how we can spread the gospel in North America.

Oh, to see the dawn, Of the darkest day: Christ on the road to Calvary. Tried by sinful men, Torn and beaten, then Nailed to a cross of wood. This, the pow'r of the cross: Christ became sin for us; Took the blame, bore the wrath- We stand forgiven at the cross.

Oh, to see the pain Written on Your face, Bearing the awesome weight of sin. Ev'ry bitter thought, Ev'ry evil deed Crowning Your bloodstained brow. Now the daylight flees; Now the ground beneath Quakes as its Maker bows His head. Curtain torn in two, Dead are raised to life; "Finished!" the vict'ry cry.

Oh, to see my name Written in the wounds, For through Your suffering I am free. Death is crushed to death; Life is mine to live, Won through Your selfless love. This, the pow'r of the cross: Son of God-slain for us. What a love! What a cost! We stand forgiven at the cross.

“WEE” Words

WOW! A "winter of wonder"! Some of us have truly loved the snow while most are eagerly awaiting the coming of Spring! With Spring comes some very special events for the WEE Center. On March the 12th we will host our annual WEE Fair for the Three Year Classes. We could use some help to man our games and help with refreshments. Please call the school office (410-647-8162) if you can spare a couple of hours to help us with this event. We will also present our WEE Circus on Friday, March 14th and our Teddy Bear Picnics on March 18th, 19th and 20th.

Beginning on Tuesday, April 1st we will present our annual Art Show. Please be sure to wander through the Fellowship Hall and perhaps bid on one of the original pieces of art created by the WEE ones!

Our Annual Yard/Bake Sale and Silent Action will be held on Saturday, April 12th from 8:00 to 1:00 PM. You may call the school office to reserve a spot to sell your treasures or to make a donation to the silent auc-tion. Help is also needed to set up the field and to man the WEE Center tables during the sale. We always appreciate all the help our church family provides us. We thank God for you!

We are actively involved in registration for the next school year, 2014/2015. If you have family or friends seeking a preschool, please send them our way. We will be more than happy to give them a tour and infor-mation.

With a grateful heart, Judy Myer, Director

SPBC Ladies Gather in His Name From Jan Cline

On Thursday evenings our SPBC ladies are part of a Bible study “Unglued” written by Lysa TerKeurst. It focuses on how our emotions can dictate what comes out of our mouth. We’ve learned that there is nothing wrong with having feelings. It’s our feelings that allow us to feel our “highs” and “lows”. But our feelings should not dictate how we act. We should fight for our relationships and not against them. We are openly sharing how we handle our emotions, praying individually for each other and making imperfect progress together in the midst of raw emotions. We are saturating ourselves in God’s Word as we embark on this journey.

And we have learned that our emotional reaction may vary greatly depending on whether our hair is in Day #1 or #2, or #3, etc.???? (You really had to be there.) There is a direct relationship between just how unglued we can become and how far away our hair is from that perfect Day #1. We are all anticipating the wonderful things that God will do in our Bible study, and we appreciate so much our sister, Brenda Mulju, who coordinates our study.
