1956 - The Objects for which the Institute is established are:
A. To improve the standard of driving and for the advancement of road safety.
B. To establish an advanced driving test.

• Renowned Advanced Driving and Motorcycling courses and tests
• Introduced Cycling Initiative.
• 215 volunteer groups across the UK.
• c. half a million Advanced tests
• Currently c.100,000 members.

to as many road users as possible.

• Instigate and publish highly relevant road-safety research reports.
