The KID’S CHURCH CHALLENGE ARMOUR OF GOD

The challenge is to make a FULL ARMOUR. Take a picture and send it to me (Jenny so I can make a big artwork of all your armours.) It can be -a large costume (to fit yourself) or small using Lego figure and Lego bricks -You can use cardboard or Lego or whatever materials you like -Your design can be Roman-like (old) or Star Wars-like (from the future), African or Japanese, Medieval or………

BUT IT MUST INCLUDE THESE 6 THINGS Belt- Breastplate- Boots- Shield- Helmet- Sword Here’s some examples to get you thinking.

For the next part you’ll need your Bible. Look up Ephesians Chapter 6 verses 10-20 Who is the enemy? Have a look at Ephesians 6 :11 _______________________________ What will the armour of God help us do?_ Ephesians 6:11 and 13 and 14.

Belt and Truth What are we to remember about Jesus, the gospel, our words? _____________________________________________ Breastplate and Righteousness When we trust Jesus we are made new. What is our new self to put on? ______________________________________________ boots and the Gospel of Peace What are army boots usually like? ________________________ Where do our feet have to be ready to go?__________________________________ This is a very powerful weapon against the devil. The gospel of peace might not seem like strong protective boots but that’s exactly what it is.

Shield and Faith Faith is our shield. Trusting Jesus means we never have to fear ______________________ Helmet and Salvation What lie do you think the devil might try to tell us about being saved? So what must always we remember? _____________________________________________ Sword of the Spirit and The Word of God Swords are pretty frightening weapons - how does God’s word protect/rescue people? _________________________________________________ So protection we need to wear so we stand against the devil’s schemes are :- Weapon 1. Truth – the news about Jesus, who He is and what He’s done, we are to put off lies and speak the truth Weapon 2. Righteousness – when we trust the Lord Jesus we are new people, we are to be like Him and live righteous lives. Weapon 3. Peace – the good news about Jesus makes peace between us and God as well as us and other people. No more fighting make peace. Weapon 4. Faith – God has given us a gift we don’t deserve- faith. So if we start to think we aren’t good enough we remember Jesus has saved us and forgiven us. Weapon 5. Salvation – believe in Jesus we are saved, forgiven and have been given the Holy Spirit Weapon 6. The Word of God – this is the powerful weapon that God uses to change people. When we hold onto these weapons we have the full armour of God to stand against the devil. What one other most important thing does Paul ask us to do as well as put on our armour?
