There is a famous saying "Dont wait for the perfect moment,

Take the moment and make it perfect"

Yes, So Knights decided that, this is the perfect time to publish

their 3rd issue of the newsletter after the first Project of the leostic

year 2015-2016.

We warmly welcome you all to "Roar of Knights", the official

Newsletter of Colombo Knights.

This volume is consisted with all the projects which were

conducted by Knights family in the leostic year 2014-2015.

We always try to do something new and different, so we though

to carry out the talents of the members in our club through the

Newsletter.L- Leadership E- Experiences O- Opportunities

Yes, Knights family is always trying be good leaders through the

experiences which are gained from the opportunities.

Now the time has come to continue to run a good race till we

reach the finish line of the new leostic year with the greatest

achievements.

We warmly welcome your comments, ideas and new proposals

Leo Club of Colombo Knights was established in the

ear 2007 with the guidance and blessings of the Lions

ub of Colombo Mid City and Leo Sachindraanendra who was lucky enough to host its charter

esidency, up until the year 2011.

Leo Club of Colombo Knights was re-established as

fort made by a group of young enthusiasts in the year

12 September 29th.

On 17th June, 2013 Leo Club of Colombo Knights

ceived its charter certificate from the Lions

Wiwekaaraamaya Temple, Delakanda. It was the first step of Sahajeewana Project.

This was a counseling program we conducted for some differently abled ch

in a children home as a project. We spent an evening with them, conducted a m

therapy session for them and served them the evening tea. Also we donate som

food for them.

16Leo Hunger Ride Challenge

Held at Bellanwila

We conducted a beach cleanup project at Dehiwala

beach and we covered a huge area. We collected

polythene and plastic which were all over the beach.

"Mehewara" the project we conducted to donate goods to refugees who are

ffering from the landslide that took place in Koslanda on 29th of October. The

ollected goods were distributed to Poonagala Tamil Maha Vidyala, a camp where

bout 700 landslide victims were accommodated.

Leo club of Gampaha Metro challenged us for

the Hunger ride Challenge...

We are knights and never give up any

challenge... We accepted the challenge and

distributed lunch packets for the homeless

people who are living near by the Bellanwilatem le.

We showed our gratitude to the HERO....To the Hero who

treasured our lives more than theirs....

We spent an evening with them and served them the

evening tea, sang and danced with them... We could

able to make them smile... It was a great project done by

Knights together with Leos of Panadura - Alubomulla.

As the 2nd step of the Sahajeewana project Knights celebrated Christmas with some

homeless children in Dehiwala. We served the dinner to them, celebrated Christmas with th

Cats and Dogs!!!! Of course they are the most adorable living creatures in this world.... Once you

have had a wonderful dog or a cat, a life without one, is a life diminished... Of course yes!!!

All across the world, animal shelters are overflowing with dogs that are in need of good homes.

But how did so many get there? It can be hard for us dedicated pet lovers to understand how

someone could just surrender his or her companion.

When a dog ends up in a shelter, it is not their fault.

We visited some homeless dogs and cats at Animal Welfare and Protection Association,Dehiwala Shelter. We donated some pet food and some other kind of necessary stuff to

them.

the morning we were blessed by the Hindu god for a brighter future. Then

made Kolam designs to celebrate the Thai Pongal day.

It was a great memorable Day for all of us.

Shilpa Project was a project which was organized to collect books and magazines toonate for a library in school that has been recognized as under privileged. We are proud

o say that we were able to collect more than 750 books. We travelled about 230km for

e donation. Students, their parents, the principle of the school, the staff of the school

Prisons are humans too.. We didnt forget it. Knights family visited the female prisoners at Welika

Magazine Prison for the second time.

We went there with all the things we promised them to bring.

The warm welcome of the Jailor and her staff was commendable.

Our donations for the sewing section were not only accepted but was appreciated by both th

prisoners and the staff.

he smiles on their faces made us all feel as if what we did truly meant something special for theand we all were certain we are going to this all over again....

We, Leo Club of Colombo Knights went to visit Walikada magazine prison to donate some childcproducts to the children of mothers who are taken care at the prison.
