. Hello Lakewood Family! I hope you are having a great week in the Lord this week. Please continue to invite friends, family, co-workers and anyone you know who is unchurched to try us out in these days. Sunday we were blessed to have 7 visitors and more will be coming. Almost all of them commented that the church is warm and inviting. That is a compliment to you. Thank you for being a loving church. Great days are ahead! This Sunday, Nov. 13 we will continue our Series “I’m not a Turkey…I’m thankful!” with a sermon entitled Turkey on Trial from Hebrews 12:1-3. If turkeys could sense when they were being watched by hunters...we'd probably have a lot less meat for Thanksgiving dinner. Every human, to some degree, have turkey traits. Whether it be the battle with apathy in living our Christian faith or whether sin prohibits us from soaring like and eagle...we can all be a turkeys at times. Do we know that we are being watched? Do we know that we live in a world waiting to pick us off one by one? Do we know that we can soar above criticism, skepticism, discouragement and doubt? Christians are sometimes like Turkeys on Trial. We live in a fallen world full of people watching us to see if we will succeed or fail in living for a Holy God. Will we get picked off or will we soar and become all God purposed us to be? This past Wednesday night our Kid’s Town Children’s Ministry made Thanksgiving Baskets for our Shut-Ins! They did a beautiful job with the baskets and the baskets were delivered this week to grateful senior adults! We’re so very proud of our children and how they are learning to serve!
