Terri’s Message……. It’s hard to believe, but we are fast approaching the Fall Season. This has been an active summer for the Social Club with some nice events and great attendance. Everyone who works so hard to bring these events to you is very appreciative of your support and attendance. Please keep your input coming. These events are for you, the residents, so let us know how we’re doing. We always appreciate your help, too! A lot of the things that have to be done before an event are behind the scenes and can be done in your home. Volunteers are always welcome, so give one of us a call. We’ll put you to work! The Social Club treasury is in good shape. We were able to add a projector to the Clubhouse, make some repairs on the refrigerator, and most of the events, including Bingo, are making a profit thanks to our dedicated Chair people and your attendance. The 50’s Nite was an enjoyable evening with lots of music, and the annual Luau on August 8th was authentic as usual with great food, and the decorators did an awesome job. Mark your Calendars for two of the most popular events, Poker Tournament on Sept. 12th and Hot Dog Bingo, Sept. 17th. In October we have a new event we’re sure you will want to attend--it’s a Murder Mystery Evening. All you Sherlock Holmes out there will have some fun. That’s it for now. See you at the clubhouse! Terri Goodman, President

Questions and Answers): Many times, folks have questions about our great community, about the events we hold, or about the activities available at the clubhouse. But…who do you ask or where do you go to find the answer?

We’d like to help if we can.

Question: What is Rock Mail? I’ve never heard of this kind of mail before.

ANSWER: Rock Mail is a unique means of communication identifiable ONLY at Forest Gardens. If you

look up “rock mail” in the dictionary, or a thesaurus, or on the internet, you will get a response of “no

such word”. The residents of Forest Gardens have used “rock mail” for years. You can send “rock

mail” to any resident. No postage is required. Usually the person who leaves the mail under your rock

is a phantom with no specific delivery schedule. Get yourself some kind of a “rock”, put it on your side

porch (carport side). There are all kinds of creative rocks: some funny, some pretty, some plain, some

exotic. Whatever your rock looks like, we hope you enjoy reading the mail you get under your rock!

LUAU 2015 – The welcoming was a grand “ALOHA”, a Hawaiian word that means Hello or Goodbye. The teriyaki chicken “Hawaiian style”, the pork cooked by Gary Gailmor, Rice, Mac/Fruit, Salad by experts Linda Gailmor and Ester McCarthy, ice cream and fruit punch was a great meal. Entertainment was lovely with Ginni dancing to Hawaiian heritage music, and Harry Luettchau’s CDS for listening and dancing highlighted the entertainment. The crowning of this years King and Queen, Ray and Fran Vanderpool, and a princess, Vicki Brocard and her prince, Dale Jackson reigned over the Luau with Hawaiian Royalty. The decorating committee did a wonderful job. Thanks to all who worked hard to make the Luau an enjoyable evening.. You can’t have a successful party without helpers and that is what I had—a good working committee. Thanks, thanks, and more thanks. ALOHA. Hope you had a good time. Alice Sanchez and Luau Committee.
