FREQUENTLY ASKED & ANSWEREDGiven the current need for social distancing and the heightened awareness of cleanliness standards, we are here to keep your guests as safe as possible. The following are some of the most commonly asked questions we hear from our meeting planners and guests:

Q: What new processes are in place to facilitate social distancing?A: • Follow local guidelines on socializing in groups that do not allow for appropriate distancing

(e.g. receptions, trade shows, etc.).

contact areas such as restaurant entrances, lobby bars, meeting and convention spaces, elevator landings, pools, and exercise areas.

• The public area attendants and house aides will have a “High-Contact Cleaning Checklist” that includes any high-touch surfaces in their areas of cleaning responsibility.

UNFORGETTABLE WEDDING WEEKENDS Weddings at the Union Club Hotel at Purdue University are beautiful celebrations of love and life, taking place in a setting rich with tradition, beauty and charm. The Union Club Hotel can accommodate all wedding-related events, from the engagement party and rehearsal dinner to the ceremony and post-wedding Sunday brunch. We have the venue options to suit every occasion and to give brides, grooms and their guests a weekend to truly remember.

Purdue has seen its fair share of storied celebrations and social events. For example, did you know...

• The South Ballroom used to host Saturday night “mixers” as a formalized way for young men and women to socialize on campus. Each young lady would have a dance card, and if a gentleman wanted to dance with her that evening, he would need to arrive early to put his name on his favorite young lady’s card.

• When the North Ballroom was added in 1939, big band conductor Tommy Dorsey was hired to provide live music for the dedication. As he searched for an up-and-coming singer to perform at the event, he decided to take a chance on a young performer in his early 20s. That performer was none other than Frank Sinatra.

• A campus superstition holds that if a student couple kisses under the Purdue Bell Tower, one day they will hear wedding bells themselves.
