CampaignLCDS parent Steve Schmutter has access to a barge leaving next week for Haiti and generously offered to coordinate a collec-tion of urgently needed supplies. In preparation for the arrival of his truck, parents and students collected bottled water, canned goods, blankets, and diapers.

We are also accepting dona-tions to be sent to the relief ef-fort—if you would like to make a contribution, please send a check made payable to LCDS.

This initial effort was our imme-diate goal. We are also organizing a long term effort spearheaded by our middle school students. Additional details will follow.To all of you who contributed…

New Faces in the LCDS Middle School

• Señora Suzanne Linn , who majored in French and Spanish language and literature at Clark university in Worces-ter, MA, is teaching Spanish to our 6th-8th graders.

• Ms. Marie Restler is back in our middle school after having taught in the 2007-08 school year. This year she will be working with our Middle School Math section.
