LESSON TIME!God is so good to us! Part of how He is good to us is how He takessuch wonderful care of us. The Lord always provides for the needsof His children. Our God is a good and loving Father who knowsand does what is best for us.

The children of Israel were in God’s hand as they traveled in thewilderness. He was always faithful to them as He blessed them andprovided for their needs. Out of His love for them, God gave themsweet manna from heaven to eat and pure water to drink.

But, even though God was always providing for His people, theybegan to complain about what God gave to them. They started tothink that maybe it was better back in Egypt. Only one problem, they forgot that in Egypt they were slaves. We need to be thankfulfor what God has provided for us because He knows what is best forus and gives us everything that we need. We should be happywith what the Lord provides for us.

N UM BERS 11:4-6N ow the m ixed m u l t i tu de w ho w ere am ong themyie lded t o in t ense c rav ing; so the c h i ld ren o f I s rae lal so w ep t again and said : "Who w i l l gi v e u s m eat t oeat ?

"bu t now ou r w ho le be ing i s d r i ed u p ; there i snoth ing at al l exc ep t th i s m anna bef ore ou r eyes !"

The children of Israel were not happy with what they had. Theywere kind of like us, sometimes, when we begin to complain abouteverything that we do not have instead of being thankful for the

blessings that we do have. They looked back at their old lives andremembered the delicious food in Egypt. They forgot what it wasreally like in Egypt. They were in bondage to the Pharaoh andwanted nothing more than to be freed. Forgetting all they shouldbe thankful for, they began to complain against God.

Whenever we complain, we are complaining against God becauseHe is the One that provides for us. It is really important for us tobe thankful and remember all that God has done for us. God hasdelivered us from the slavery of the world and the bondage of sin.We should be happy with what the Lord provides for us.

Manna was an amazing gift of God. God even made the manna asweet taste for the people to enjoy. The Bible even says that mannawas angel’s food (Psalm 78:25). God loves us and provides for us inamazing ways! Like manna, the things that God provides for us willbe good for us. Let’s remember that everything we have is a giftfrom God. “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” James 1:17.

Princess Prima Donna's PartyPrincess Prima Donna is having a birthday and everyone in theclass has been invited to her birthday party! Let kids write or drawa picture of a gift, anything they want, inside the fold-over presentsto give to the princess.

You may want to invite a guest to dress up as Princess Prima Donnaand even have birthday cake or cupcakes. Otherwise, use a puppetor doll to represent the princess. Of course, she is a mostungrateful girl and throws away or tosses aside all the gifts, sayingthat she has seven of these and ten of those and did not want thatthing anyway.

This should remind us all that everything we have is a gift fromGod, and when we are unthankful and ungrateful, it is displeasingto God.

These people were being disobedient to God as they pouted over alack of meat. Moses did not know what to do and was verytroubled. However, Moses knew whom to turn to when he was inan impossible situation. Moses took this great burden to the Lordbecause he knew that God was totally in control of every situation. We cannot do anything on our own. It is so important for us to castall our cares whether small or great on the Lord. God loves us somuch and wants to work all things out for good in our lives. Weneed to call on Him and let Him rule our lives just as Moses did.

God sent quail to these complaining people. He sent them amiraculous work. The children of Israel were so obsessed withtheir sin that they greedily gathered a tremendous amount ofmeat. Yet these people would never have the capacity to enjoy it,because they had broken fellowship with God. We should behappy with what the Lord provides for us.

Without fellowship with God, life is futile and worthless. God givesus the capacity to enjoy life as we walk with Him and in the fullnessof who He is. God is good and always wants what is best for us. Weneed to follow His way and not complain against Him, because Healways blesses His children with the better way of life.

These disobedient people were punished by God. These peoplehad cried out against God and had complained against Hisprovision for them. God hates sin and must punish sin because Heis so righteous. The people suffered the consequences of theirwickedness.

God loves us so much and is always faithful to do what is best forus. He knew quail was not best for the children of Israel, and Heknows what is not best for us. We need to listen to God and followHis Word in order to be protected from evil. We need to bethankful for what God has given us because He loves us and alwaysprovides for His children. We should be happy with what theLord provides for us.

Thank You God!!!During circle time, give each child several happy face stickers andask each one to share in turn some things for which they arethankful.
