Welcome!

! A warm welcome to all: We are so thankful that the session and Board of Deacons of the OPC in Bohemia, are letting us use their facility so that we can gather for worship, instruction, and fellowship. Until we are able to gather again in a facility in Deer Park, we will be meeting at the Bohemia facility on the Lord’s Days at 1:00 p.m.. We are made to gather together as God’s people and we rejoice that, despite the lockdown of so many establishments, we are blessed to enjoy this aspect of our corporate life as the people of God. Praise the Lord!

! Today’s Sunday Schedule:

1:00 p.m. Worship/Outreach

2:45 p.m. Haven Updates/Evangelism 101.

3:00 p.m. Haven Food & Fellowship

!"Covid 19 Precautions: When COVID 19 health requirements were removed by the previous Governor of the State of New York, no mention was made of requirements for churches. Out of love for your neighbor, if you are ill remain home and live-stream the worship service. When we are gathered together always use reasonable sanitary and hygeine measures.

!" " Announcement Page: You’ll find this purposely placed after the liturgy pages of our weekly bulletin. This page include things for you to do to serve Christ as you “Go forth in peace to love and serve those around you - in Jesus’ Name.” It’s not enough to gather for worship. We are meant to go forth demonstrating our faith by our works!

!" " The concept of "covenant renewal" is beautifully introduced in our Directory for Public Worship: "The triune God assembles his covenant people for public worship in order to manifest and renew their covenant bond with him and one another. The Holy Spirit engages them and draws them into the Father’s presence as a living sacrifice in Christ. God himself has fellowship with them, strengthening and guiding them for life in his presence and service in his kingdom."

☩ We celebrate the Lord’s Supper every Sunday as the climax of our covenant renewal worship. If you are visiting with us, we invite to the Table those who have received Christian baptism, have publicly professed faith in Jesus Christ, and are members in good standing of a church in which the Gospel of Jesus Christ is faithfully taught and practiced. By eating the bread and drinking the wine with us you are publicly acknowledging that you are seeking to walk in godliness before the Lord,. If you have any questions about whether you should partake of the Supper, please speak to the pastor either before or after the service.

!""Scripture quotations are from The Holy Bible, English Standard Version® (ESV®). Copyrighted music reprinted under CCLI #11435067. All selections from the Trinity Psalter Hymnal are used with permission. !" "The Haven, OPC is a congregation of the Presbytery of Connecticut and Southern New York, Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC). THE LORD OUR GOD CALLS US

Salutation:

Pastor: Congregation of the People of God: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

People: Amen!

†Call to Worship: From Psalm 118

Pastor: It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.

People: The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation!

Pastor:   Glad songs of salvation are in the (dwellings) of the righteous.

People: The right hand of the Lord does valiantly!

Pastor: I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord.

People: Open to me the gates of righteousness that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord!

Pastor: The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone! This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

All: This is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it !

THE LORD OUR GOD CLEANSES US

Meditation on The Sermon on the Mount: Matthew 6:11

“Give us this day our daily bread.”

Confession of Sin - Begin with personal confession before God.

Corporate Confession: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Giver of every good and perfect gift: Forgive us when we think, even for a moment, that our own energies have given us the wealth that we have. We could not move if you did not enable us. We could not think correctly if you did not give us health of mind. We could labor only to have the fruit of our labors taken away. We could be in a place or time of famine. Forgive us when we do not acknowledge that you are the God from whom all blessings flow. Even as we thank you for giving us all that is meant by “daily bread”, forgive us when we do not acknowledge you or when we dethrone the everlasting God by enthroning the wealth that we have. We look to you to continue to give us all that is necessary for life and godliness. In Jesus our Great Provider we pray. Amen.

†The Promises of God in Jesus Christ: Psalm 103:1-14

People: Hallelujah! Thanks be to God!

†Our Response of Praise: “His Mercy is More” (Turn to the next page)

THE LORD OUR GOD CONSECRATES US

OLD COVENANT READING: PROVERBS 15:1-11

1 A soft answer turns away wrath, but  a harsh word stirs up anger.  2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but  the mouths of fools pour out folly. 3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. 4 A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. 5 A fool despises his father's instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is prudent. 6 In the house of the righteous there is much treasure, but trouble befalls the income of the wicked. 7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so the hearts of fools. 8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him. 9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but he loves him who pursues righteousness.  10 There is  severe discipline for him who forsakes the way; whoever hates reproof will die. 11 Sheol and Abaddon lie open before the LORD; how much more the hearts of the children of man!

NEW COVENANT READING: EPHESIANS 6:10-20

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against  the schemes of the devil.  12  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against  the rulers, against the authorities, against  the cosmic powers over  this present darkness, against  the spiritual forces of evil  in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore  take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.  14  Stand therefore,  having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16  In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,  18  praying  at all times  in the Spirit,  with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth  boldly to proclaim  the mystery of the gospel,  20  for which I  am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
