With this vision, the MALAYSIAN BRAND Certification Scheme was born. The Scheme will help brand owners both from manufacturing and service sectors to meet global requirements, whilst providing them with tangible commercial benefits worldwide. Assessment Criteria Organizations applying for MALAYSIAN BRAND Certification must meet the following prerequisites: 1. A minimum 3-STAR rating under the SME Corp. Malaysia SCORE programme. 2. Certified to any of the following Standards: • ISO 9001 • ISO 22000 • HACCP • ISO/TS 16949 • ISO 13485 • Or equivalent 3. Own a Registered Brand of Malaysian origin. The MALAYSIAN BRAND mark, which depicts quality, excellence and distinction of local products and services is not only designed for global recognition but also to promote and enhance domestic acceptance. The criteria can serve as part of your business management tools to improve your company’s performance and meet the growing demands of customers. This unique mark developed by SME Corp. Malaysia and SIRIM, will cause a dramatic shift in the way we and rest of the world see Malaysian brands in the near future. The MALAYSIAN BRAND depicts Quality, Excellence and Distinction. This new certification scheme will provide significant benefits to Malaysian companies. THE MALAYSIAN BRAND CERTIFICATION SCHEME APPLICATION PROCESS

Submit Questionnaire

Submission of questionnaire. A quotation giving details of the cost of each stage of the certification process will be issued if all the prerequisites have been met.

Submit Application

Upon acceptance of the quotation, company is required to submit the application together with the application fee.

Stage 1 Audit To review the company’s documentation against the Malaysian Brand certification scheme criteria and to evaluate the company’s readiness to proceed to Stage 2 Audit.

Stage 2 Audit To evaluate whether the criteria of the Malaysian Brand certification scheme have been effectively implemented.

Recommendation The assessment team shall recommend based on the findings of Stage 2 Audit and the Certification Panel shall review and approve the recommendation.

Issuance of Certificate

The certificate will be issued upon payment of all fees due and the signing of the Certification Agreement. The certificate is valid for 2 years from the date of approval.

Renewal Assessment

The certificate shall be renewed for a further 2 year period based on the results of the renewal assessment which shall be carried out prior to the expiry of the certificate.
