World Meeting of Families Monthly Theme
There will be a different theme each month leading up to the
World Meeting of Families (September 2015) based on the
10 chapters of the Preparatory Catechesis “Love is Our
Mission: The Family Fully Alive.”
March’s theme is Creating the Future Marriage is meant to be fertile and welcome new life. Children shape the future, just as they themselves are shaped in their families. Without children, there can be no future. Children raised with love and guidance are a foundation for a loving future. Wounded children portend a wounded future. Families are the bedrock for all larger communities. Families are domestic churches, places where parents help children discover that God loves them and has a plan for them.
Host a Family! Thousands will visit for this international event from September 22-27, 2015. You can open your home and host a family or an individual. Open your home and host a family! Consider spending some time in our Perpetual Adoration Chapel this Lent.
The chapel, located in the Holy Family Center, is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You could bring a book, use one provided in the chapel, read the Bible, pray the rosary, or just sit and enjoy the peace, love, hope, mercy, and faith that come from being in the presence of God.
Spend time with the Lord in a way that works for you: • Stop in when you have time.
• Plan now to spend an hour on a specific day.
• Plan to visit the chapel every week on that day and time throughout Lent.
40 DAYS FOR LIFE 2015
SPRING CAMPAIGN The Feast of St. Joseph, Thursday, March 19, has been
selected as the day the people of St. Joseph Parish will
offer prayer and vigil at Planned Parenthood, located at
Market and Wayne Streets, West Chester.
On that day, our Parish is responsible to cover the hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. as part of the 40 Days for Life Campaign. St. Joseph Parish is the second largest parish in the Archdiocese; therefore, every hour of that day should have at least two people representing the Parish in prayer to end the abortions that are taking place there each Tuesday.
If you are unable to go during the daylight hours, sign up for an hour in the evening. Sign-up sheets are in the St. Katharine Drexel room.

Operation Rice Bowl If you’d like to take part in Operation Rice Bowl, please look for the bowls in the narthex.
Inside each bowl are detailed suggestions and information about the program. You can follow these suggestions, or simply use the bowl to collect your own Lenten sacrifice.
The manner in which you give alms is not important; the gift of your sacrifice is what matters.
Please return your bowl when you come to Mass the weekend after Easter – April 11 and 12 (Divine Mercy Sunday).

during two upcoming events Hospitality is in need of people
to help with food donations for two events that are taking place in March.
On March 17, the Forty Hours reception will take place after the 7 p.m. Mass; fifteen bakers are needed for this.

1. Priest, Prophet, King Led by Fr. Matt Guckin
Who was Jesus? The better we understand this itinerant preacher whom many called the Messiah, the better we’ll know ourselves. Fr. Guckin will use Fr. Robert Barron’s series “Priest, Prophet, King” to help us discover Jesus as the Anointed One – the ultimate priest, prophet, and king foreshadowed throughout the Hebrew Scriptures.

2. Deliver us From Evil Led by Susan Brinkmann
(Women of Grace, EWTN) Please join us for this morning retreat that will explore Church teaching on evil and the many ways that it manifests in our world. Who is Satan and what role does he play in our lives? How does he manifest and what “doors” does he use to penetrate our individual lives? How do we discern his activity and what weapons does the Church give us to keep ourselves and our families safe from evil?

Good Works Partner Churches
Partnering with Good Works, Inc. of Chester County, this ministry helps homeowners living in substandard housing by working hands-on and side-by-side with them once a month to make their homes warmer, safer, and drier. Its mission is to extend God's love and replace hopelessness with the hope of Jesus Christ. Since starting this ministry in 2001, parishioners have completed more than 55 homes. Children’s Envelopes Envelopes for our young stewards can be found in the Saint Katharine Drexel Room in Church and at the Parish Office. These envelopes are a great way to teach our young parishioners the meaning of Stewardship.

Jesus’ cleansing of the Temple is a familiar story. The prophets Jeremiah, Zechariah and Malachi prophesied that when the Kingdom of God was at hand, the Temple would be cleansed of all activities unworthy of an encounter with God. Christians are often referred to as “Temples of the Lord.” As stewards of a “Holy Temple” God has entrusted to each one of us, what are we doing to be cleansed of activities unworthy of an encounter with the Lord?
This week, reflect on one thing you can do to cleanse the Temple God has given you so that it becomes a more inviting home for Christ Jesus.

St. Joseph Health and Wellness
Ministry Please come join us for the first meeting of the St. Joseph Health and Wellness Ministry on Tuesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. in the parish meeting center, room 2. The mission of this ministry is to be a trusted source in our parish as parishioners and families encounter: aging issues, health issues and the related care options or decision issues, and support to make decisions regarding independent or assisted living. The ministry will provide resources and support through this process, which can sometimes be very confusing and stressful. Steubenville Youth Conference: The conference is June 26 – 28: The Deadline to register is March 27. Volunteers Needed! Help us assemble 200 emergency food boxes for local Coatesville residents at CYWA(Community, Youth, Woman's Alliance) on Monday, March 16 from 4 - 6 p.m. Youth Gathering: For 9th - 12th grade guys & gals on Friday, March 27 from 7-9:30 p.m. We will walk over to the chapel for a special Lenten Meditation. Pizza & fellowship following in the Youth Room. Annual Operation Resurrection: Good Friday, April 3 from 9 a.m. - 12 noon. Followed by lunch at Pat’s Pizza. Talent Showcase: Friday, April 10 from 6 - 9 p.m. in the Parish Meeting Center. All those in 9th - 12th grade are welcome to participate. Family & friends are invited to come out and support the God-given talent of our youth. Performances may include - musical instruments, song, comedy, skits, drama, unusual talents and so on! Please submit a performance piece to Ken Chrusch no later than Wed. April 8. We will be taking a free-will offering to raise money for a local charity. Last year's talent show raised $400 for Chester County Woman's Services in Coatesville.

Knights of Columbus Corner Volunteers needed for Lent Fish Fry’s
Fish Fry’s are scheduled for March 13, 20 & 27.
We have opportunities for 4 young volunteers looking for service time by manning the “Drinks” stations and “Bussing/Maintenance” of tables from 4:30-7:30 p.m. These are the only slots available for young volunteers, all others are for Knights volunteers. ARE YOU A MANDATED
REPORTER? As part of our Catholic commitment to safe environments, the Archdiocese recently updated its policies and training curriculum for mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect. These new policies reflect the Church’s commitment to always do more, as well as the new Pennsylvania laws that went into effect on December 31, 2014. If you are likely to
come into direct contact with children, you may be a mandated reporter.
The updated version of the Mandated Reporter training is
up and running. The training is required of all new paid
and non-paid staff, and volunteers who have regular
contact with children and youth.
