conflict with our WC #89

weekend. I informed all Region

XI Lay Directors and the San

Bernardino FCC that FCC

Oakland cannot attend the event

because of our conflict. I

informed them as soon as I

received the email notice and

according to the hosts, they

cannot move it because of venue

restriction. This does not stop

anybody from attending if you

are available especially if you are

planning to be in the area visiting

friends and relatives.

AN ENCOUNTER WITH CHRIST

As shared by Sis. Cora Pediglorio

An encounter with Christ that

happened to the lives of our Cursillista

brothers and sisters, which might have

taken place recently or years ago. It is

sharing of our own faith and touching

with our own Cursillo way, an encounter

with ourselves with Christ and with

others, our own PSA.

The Holy Spirit is alive and well

and when we are open and receptive to

Him, you know that He will always be

with you, making his presence known in

small or big ways.

Encountering Christ in our

everyday life is truly a gift to relish and

to share with others...

I have been blessed to be a part

time caregiver for over three years.

Providing care to Jackie gives me

joy and compassion for her; and despite

her difficulty in speaking because of her

Parkinson’s disease, I still managed to

understand her through lip reading.

Providing care to my client

entails giving her morning snack,

washing her clothes, folding and putting

them away, bathing her, fixing her hair,

dressing her up and other small chores

that she asks me to do. Over time, my

exposure to the use of water in bathing

her has taken a toll on my hands.

I was hesitating, but I had to tell Jackie

that I need to start wearing gloves when

I bathe her, because my hands have been

looking very dry, scaly and scratchy!

And of course, she does not mind at all.

One day, while I was doing her

hair, I saw her took the Aveeno lotion

that was sitting atop the vanity table. I

thought she was going to use it on her

hands.

However, I was taken aback

when, without saying anything to me,

she took my hands, and with gentleness,

applied the lotion lovingly onto my

hands. I was very touched by her

gesture.

At that moment, I felt God's

presence through Jackie. The Holy

Spirit is indeed alive and well. I felt so

much joy and love in my heart after that

encounter. Thank you Jesus for loving

me!

Our medium of communication at the

beginning of our Filipino Cursillo

Movement was the FILIPINO

CURSILLO NEWSLETTER. Later on

the name was changed to MARIPOSA

NEWSLETTER.

It is but proper to recognize past editors

who worked hard to deliver news and

activities of the Cursillo community.

We thank them for their noteworthy

services. We hope they come back and

help again!
