Nostalgia means remembering times in the past in a positive way, like you are missing those times.

Synonyms: longing, remorse, sentimental

It is sunrise/sunset, as the sun is clearly near the edge of the horizon, and the yellow light shows the sun is

not high in the sky.

The person could be the owner of the boat, and he might be watching the sunset and remembering when

he used to sail the boat.

The artist chose an older man to show that he owned the boat when he was younger, and it is not in good

condition any more.
